There were just so many time last season where odoms would get a bubble screen, had plenty of space to work with, and he could NOT juke a defender to save his moms life. this showed in his stats: 9.0 YPC, and less then 7 without the huge Illinois game. I think Michigan needs a new starting slotback in 2009-someone who will make the defender miss and will hold onto the damn ball

Odoms seems to give a good effort, but to call him a super slot receiver is definite hyperbole. There were just so many time last season where odoms would get a bubble screen, had plenty of space to work with, and he could NOT juke a defender to save his moms life. this showed in his stats: 9.0 YPC, and less then 7 without the huge Illinois game. I think Michigan needs a new starting slotback in 2009-someone who will make the defender miss and will hold onto the damn ball

I will go on the record as saying Odoms will be shitty to average yet again this fall, but if he has a breakout season, i will readily admit I'm wrong and will be very happy. Ditto with Darryl Stonum. A true fan delights when his teams players do well, regardless how he thought about them before.

What i said about delighting when players do well is a sign of support. absolutely false! I have been a supporter of many Michigan recruits before they ever played a down (the most relevant examples being Tate Forcier and Justin Feagin). Here's my philosophy as far as players who have never seen a down are concerned: I support the far majority of the blue chip recruits Michigan gets with a few exceptions,and I am suspect of most 2 and 3 star recruits, again with a few exceptions.

I followed up that line by explaining that I do bash some recruits before they produce (such as most of dickrods tiny skill kids, one of which was Roundtree, who was a puny 154 at the time), but ALL of them? All 20 or so recruits we get per year? NO WAY IN HELL! I've never done that, and you can't ever prove I did it.

I also attend some of their games. I follow the team year round and keep up on the daily news. Buying gear has nothing to do with it.

Since, like I've said before, it's a matter of opinion since there is no scientific way to do this, it's worth noting that the vast majority of people who live outside the Big Ten footprint don't believe Michigan would have won in a head-to-head this year.
Naturally, you don't believe me. In the event that you ever actually move out of state (yeah, good luck peddling an OU BA out of state), try asking around. See what other CFB fans that aren't Big Ten homers think about the '97 UM team.
