  • one piece when luffy defeated sir crocodile

ONE PIECE IS IN THE HISTORY

  • This is music fit for a god.

  • dat brass

  • She is amazing

  • That is some killer brass

  • I dont care who he was or why he wrote it. When I come to rule this backward planet, the first minute or so of this will be played when I enter any room. I call dibbs as my theme music.

  • @HSLaFever I agree but I think the final page of this symphony is, from a violist's perspective, one of the greatest single pages in all of symphonic literature.

  • This conductor is well loved in Hawaii and attracts professional musicians from all over Hawaii and the mainland. Because of these logistics, she is sometimes limited in who can play so if trumpets are playing B-flat horns, it's because she was unable to find enough horns. The musicians play for the love of playing AND playing with her because they do so without compensation. They rehearse twice on Saturday with another on Sunday and performance Sunday afternoon. You try doing this.

  • Interesting conducting. I would cleaning it up some more but interesting. Personally I thought I was good. The first strings needed to be tuned. It sounded rather sharp, and the need to mellow out. The second strings need to be more bold in there attacks on notes. Other then that, I though this was a decent performance :)

  • to porkyfry, I think you are the one who doesn't know what you're listening to. The orchestra definitely had some out of tune moments that were pretty obvious to a trained musical ear.

to 123musicmax, I agree with you. The brass definitely were a bit sloppy. What are the trumpeters doing playing B-flat horns? It sounds bad.

  • good!

  • Schatz is PATHETIC!!!!!

  • PQP,

    Uma maestra regendo Dvorak.

    Nem no inferno.

    vB

  • horns and brass, that was rubish!!!

how can u get a good strong sound in the beggining with 2 trumpets?? It wasnt very powerful at all, but strings and woodwind we're alright

  • aah masterpiece :')

  • My high school orchestra is playing this in May. I'm soooo excited.

  • Historical reflection: there was no Czechoslovakia in Dvorak's life. He born and died in the Austrian Empire.

  • @betonbreki No, it was called Lands of the Czech Crown, not Austrian empire.

  • @betonbreki During this part of history, yes, but Czechoslovakia as part of Austrian Empire was his homeland, as, too, this unforgettable music he owed to inspirational memories on beloved woman, her sister married - in America, as his Love died before he composed the 9th, he returned to "ma vlast" - his homeland.. Why to mention Austria so much; for composer were important parts of life America and Czechoslovakia! So for reason of romance, not about bureaucratic reasons in A.E... Arenadri5

  • I'm just glad they FINISHED the song! To many are cut short!

But what orchestra was she conducting???

  • @Rick23791 Look in the description. They're a Hawaiin orchestra

  • @Rick23791 I

It's called the Kamuela Philharmonic on the Big Island of Hawaii.

  • First listen/watch conductors like Bernstein, Haitink, Rattle, Gergiev, Karajan, Abbado before you try it yourself...

  • That French horn solo was pretty disappointing...

  • Women shouldn't conduct. Simples!

  • This song you played really bad ,horns and trumpets should played more strong .Also, fst violin play wrongly. You should hear the other orchestra plays

  • Her Conducting is totally out of sync

  • my band mates and I (Broadway High, VA) are playing this for Festival this year. I looove this piece SOOOOO much, and the clarinet solo I play is just beautiful :D

  • I am glad she can read the score but where is the feeling - not surprised the orchestra can't follow her beat with the baton. Who on earth is that musical virgin?

  • lord of the rings kicks ass

  • Worst. Performance. Ever.

  • Ella solo marca el tiempo ¬¬ no se mete en la melodía

  • All she does is beating time; there are no gestures or any indication of the true feelings this movement is supposed to reflect. And the players...They sound as if they're still tunning their instruments...

  • This was my favorite movement in this song. It felt so dramatic and catchy!

  • When I here this song I think of WW2...

  • When I hear this song, I imagine a pirate who conquers the world.

  • I liked the conductor, she feels the music. The fourth movement is the best in music, and also the best this orchestra played the first movement is a waste of bad, but I liked the conductor and musicians captivated me.

  • It's been years since I performed this in concert, but it was definitely one of my favorites :) They may not be completely in tune, but it's not a bad performance... And yes, her conducting could use a bit of help.

  • It's wonderful to see a woman conducting. Besides, she is awesome.

  • I have seen worse conductors, but I think many of her gestures are way too extravagent- great conductors can make amazing music with the smallest gestures. I'm not going to make any value judgements about her conducting in general though- maybe her rehearsal technique is great.

  • the orchestra is not very good, more like a school orchestra,

  • What is wrong with all the discourse going on in the comments!?!?

Also... there are a few touchy spots with the dynamics, and the conductor seems to be in her own world.

  • I played this in middle school, xlnt composition, Dvorak is one of my heroes!!

  • what are they doing.........

  • Ahhh.... the piece that truly got me into classical music.

  • What is this shit, lil wayne and justin bieber make better music than this crap.

  • @idontfkinknow1234 If you don't like, go listen to lil wayne and bieber then... only because u don't like this piece, it doesn't mean it's crap....not at all!

  • @idontfkinknow1234 yes, it seems like "udontfkinknow". ahhh....

  • Please guys, stop calling this a song! This is a PIECE!!!

  • @joao975ca Yeah, its a PIECE all right. . . .

  • So bizarre to see a women being the conductor. o.O

  • VERY GOOD

  • Magnífica...

  • 6:37 - 6:44 first violins sounds terrible. They are completely out of tune. Omg

  • why are they playing JAWS at the beginning?!

  • @baronbuttocks2 .... the jaws theme is a direct copy of what Dvorak wrote.

They are not playing, Jaws, they are playing Dvorak's new world symphony. Wow, some people are dumb.

  • sounds a bit like jaws $10 says movie scores are just rip offs of new world synphony

  • @hagorham

It sounds a lot like Darth Vaders Theme from Star Wars. Wonder were John Williams might get the idea from? Always interesting to find the possible source for someones inspiration.

  • @hagorham

I can't believe it! Even the tune from the Time Machine from 1960. Just listen to

0.48 - 01.03 I also recognized 2 secs from the good the bad and the ugly.

What a strange feeling to hear it all mixed up together

  • its true, the first violins are out of tune

  • #NowPlaying (well, since Friday!)... a #Synaptic #Jolt of GREAT Music - with a lot of history surrounding it too!... and visions of a #NewWorld, encapsulated in those majestic #Crescendoes!

  • This conductor sucks.

  • So I'm working on this song now....LOVE IT! Can't wait to play it.

  • Is that conductor switching time signatures midmeasure? Oh dear, oh dear....and the sound is very brash, especially in the violins' higher sections, and in the winds' melodies. Also, there is an intonation disagreement which begs my attention. To put it less delicately, it pisses me the hell off that the fact that the violins, nay, the entire orchestra, are massively out of tune was ignored in such a beautiful piece. For shame.

  • Quite the hypocrite now, aren't we? "Pisses me the hell off" for someone critiquing an orchestra for sounding brash and amateurish.

How about first learning to articulate your thoughts in a mature manner before criticizing someone else?

Only a fool would claim that the orchestra is out of tune because of ignorance.

This is obviously not the LA Phil., but for someone to make remarks like you just did shows complete cluelessness.

P.S.- I will agree, however, that her conducting is ridiculous.

  • @porkyfry Dude.

    THIS IS OUT OF TUNE!!!

(not bragging) but I have perfect pitch, and I CAN'T STAND bad intonation. You don't have to have perfect pitch to hear BAD intonation. But I think "lazy" would be a better choice of words than ignorant. I'll give you that.

  • If you have perfect pitch, then you should start learning right now to accept the fact that not everyone is out to please you.

Remember: 1 - not everyone has perfect pitch. 2 - a violin, viola, cello, or bass will NEVER be perfectly in tune with itself, let alone an entire orchestra, not even Itzhak Perlman is capable of this. It is just not possible and it the nature of the instruments. I can tell you are not a string player, or else you would choose your words more carefully.

  • @xyseth pro tip: In tune and intonation are not the same thing. Being in tune simply means that everyone is playing at approximately the same pitch levels. Intonation is inclusive of tone, pitch, and the way that those notes are played, whether it be a vibrato, slur, or what have you.

  • @porkyfry What specifically about her conducting is ridiculous? or on a more positive way What makes a great conductor?

  • @Tang0Fox1 Someone capable of conveying a variety of different emotions and not just moving your baton down left right up.

  • @porkyfry So you would say that Von Karajan is a great conductor because of his emotional way of conducting then. I would agree that he is a good conductor but from the video I saw at a class there was another conductor who barely made eye contact with the orchestra and just did the down, left, right, up and it as said he was brilliant. I will research and find out then tell you his name.

  • @porkyfry

hah, her conducting isn't more ridiculous that that of soooooooo many

men conductors I've seen in a lifetime of concerts. she gets results.

  • @icebatski OK... sex has nothing to do with anything we have been discussing. Try again relating to what we are talking about, or just don't post anything at all.

  • @porkyfry

Ahh..."sex has nothing to do with it?".

go try and fool somebody else, porkyfry.

And stop trying to boss people around.

  • @icebatski Fool somebody else? It takes a feminist to turn my comments in to a "because she's a woman conductor" then I must dislike her mindset.

I'll make a deal with you, you stop making mindless accusations that i'm sexist, then i'll stop telling you what to do. Until then, grow up.

  • @porkyfry It is ridiculous. Look at those flutes. Higher than everything else.

    Also, at 01:48 it's like they're dying.

  • @porkyfry Actually, some of the High notes at the beginning are a bit out of tune. And the conducting is a bit cut and dry. She simply moves the baton for every note and doesn't seem to put much feeling into it.

  • @hkobb7 Do you know how hard it is to record a live performance in a concert hall such that it sounds good for personal listening, like through your headphones? A lot of artifacts can be introduced by recording equipment, and there's a huge balancing act involved in recording the sound for personal listening.

  • I agree this just puts shame to this movement and Dvorak

  • This song makes me think of pirates. I'm inspired to write!

  • Who do you think kicked the sand out of Sir Crocodile, with his own blood and sweat, no less? A pirate, by the name of Monkey D. Luffy!

  • this song is so much fun to play!!

  • @M0nkify1 And to listen to too !!

  • @M0nkify1 das ist ein Satz kein Song.. mein gott diese mangelnde Allgemeinbildung.

  • seriously i have never seen worse conducting!!!!!!!!

  • they use this song in one piece in episode 126 and on Nogizaka Haruka no himitsu in episode 11 and 12 and season 2 episode 5 and on sora no otoshimono

  • they are leaving out the bass trombone part which is so important to the melodies and i dont like that they had a weirdly dressed conductor.

  • The whole orchestra's intonation is beneath contempt

  • She did a alright job at it but she seemed a bit to self centered at the most part.

Think she got carried away with herself... and got a bit to excited

Yeah i heard a mistake or two in it... thing is she is pretty much making a few or more mistakes herself....

Seems like she's waved in a correct matter but then she started to lose it might of lost the thought due to the egotistical attitude she is taking on... lol

  • Her conducting wasn't that bad. She just likes to over-exaggerate the beat a lot. I've seen much wilder conducting before, and experienced too, heh.

  • The intonation in the strings and some brass passages is terrible.

  • @hcpf2009 Please tell us more about what is bad about that

    intonation so we can learn.

  • czech4ever :-)

  • i am amazed at her conducting! it's crazy. but really, if you knew how to follow her, you'd probably never get off time, haha. i do wish they had done some things differently though :/ hmm

  • I have seen some conducters go all out in there conducting but swear i have never seen anything like this kind before.

  • Great piece, but I couldn't follow that conducting if I was trying my best!

  • Well, the video and audio don't line up, so the conducting looks terrible, but I'm sure it was fine.

  • oh that explains it o-o

  • That is the worst conducting I have ever seen!

  • Come forth and do better or speak not.

  • until u can do it urself - shaddup.

  • gomo gomo STORM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • one piece haha

  • Lol, this was used for luffy vs crocodile. Still sweet.

  • Luffy vs Crocodile.

  • Great

  • lol 1st violins messed up on the arpeggios xD i can vouch, they are hard as hell. i for one cannot play them up to tempo.

  • she is not perfect...but its ok... Dvorak's music needs a better conductor, but its OK

  • a sort of oministic awe, enthrallment, and fear for what the future had in store, yet trusting in god.

  • Sheesh Dvorak was just kewl wasn't he!?

But this is very deeply written...can't you tell? It's like Beethoven.

For those serious music lovers out there, what do you think Dvorak was feeling when he was writing this?

My answer: some sort of angry joy.

  • same some kinda of angry joy in the beggining and soft love in the middle

  • yeah... he really portrays the feelings

  • yeah

  • AKA:

    Patriotism

  • its just too slow and the trumpets articulation is annoying...same with the high strings...let the note sing man!! gah!

  • i agree this version sucked

  • I can only agree. The conductor doesnt give the orchestra the drive they need...

  • This sucks...the orchestra sucks and I would not like to have had that counductor because she SUCKS!!!

  • I'm thinking you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • I've played this piece with a swiss symphony orchestra and MY opinion is that this SUCKS. Speaking as a conductor too, I personlly would have shot the orchestra if they played like that. Every conductor and musician has an opinion of how it should be. This is mine...

  • i agree with you this sucks compared to your version! (btw awsome job!)

  • its a community orchestra in a very VERY small town. :) Considering, I think it sounds excellent.

  • I agree with Uni. I believe the conductor was good and the motions were correct, but the performers skill was not very good. I think perhaps they might not have practiced enough or something. i wish we could hear the london symphony play this song. Perfection.

  • v=G_JLUmgP574&

this is as close as your gonna get......

  • Because the musicians come from all over the Big Island (some drive 2 hours to get here) as well as Oahu, Maui, Lanai and even Colorado, rehearsal time is rather limited. Each section practices on its own then comes to the main rehearsals (a total of 3!) where the conductor brings it all together. BTW, this conductor has conducted the London Symphony on a different piece.

  • OOH! This song rocks. I'm playing this in my school's orchestra. Not the whole thing though! We leave out some parts.

  • aprox. 1:47 - 1:49

    ¿¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿??¿¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?

  • looks like each performer's skill was not very high, but i think the director did splendid work.

  • impressive

  • There was no Czechoslovakia in 1892. Czechoslovakia was a created from parts of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and Kingdom of Poland by the Treaty of Versailles in 1919.

  • Lol, good call.

  • @LetsDoIt4Johnny1 Yeah, no reason to tell us that. NOW its Czech.

  • @LetsDoIt4Johnny1 There was no Kingdom of Poland in 1919, nor at any time after 1795, when the *Republic* of Both Nations (i.e. of Poland and Lithuania) was divided between Russia, Prussia and Austria. The Second *Republic* of Poland emerged in 1918, but was a) never fully established till 1921, when Poles fought off Bolshevik assault and, crucial: b) no part of Czechoslovakia was ever part of the 2nd Republic of Poland.
