so if i'm right the positive camber is better for drag races. i don't need to corner at all but will it slow the car down if i max it at positive instead

Isn't a positive camber better for the tires that are on the inside during a turn? and negative for the tires on the outside? So, if you have negative on both sides wouldn't the inside tires resist the turn? How would you balance this out?
@necrofagg0t Positive camber WOULD be best for the tires inside the turn. However, this poses distinct problems. First, if the tires were cambered for one direction of turn, say Left, then they would be ill equipped to handle the opposite, or Right-hand turns. This is counter-productive. That is, unless you're a NASCAR, then it's not only best, it's the only way to be competitive.
Second problem: Forza Motorsport doesn't allow camber differences between left and right sides. In other words, if you've set Negative Camber in the front, it affects both front, not just one
Your point is? This entire video shows that camber and caster must be adjusted depending on the characteristics of EACH car. Don't leave comments on my videos like this.
OR... u could run the same amount of camber in the front... just take some camber out of the rear to free up the rear end in the corners... helping it rotate through the corner. your diff settings may have to do with that also.
y run posi camber F/R? assuming your car doesnt have a sway bar, if u run neg camber, u will lose quite a bit of forward bite on the straits, but your side bit will be increased in the corners. but ur S5 like u said is AWD, which has to be factored in also.ur car looks like it has understeer on/off power in the corners. I would run more neg camber in the front compared to the rear. which should give you more steering in the corners. the rear will drive the car on the strait try -2/F.....-1/R g
Hey, this guide was really good, I've never played Forza 2, however I plan on getting Forza 3 and a wheel. The only thing I'd say is perhaps turning down the in-game sounds at certain points of your driving, because the car drowned out your voice so much I couldn't really understand you.
This has been mentioned several times and has been addressed. Thanks for the input, though, UnseenK. I'll have a bit more advanced tutorials for Forza 3. I am currently studying racing physics (real world physics) in my off time. That should make these a bit more accurate across the board.
hey, im new to tuning, but i bought this BMW...i wanted to tune it..but i could only do the tire pressure...nothing else...then i bought a bunch of upgrades...went back to the tuning and i still couldnt tune...do u kno the problem? if anyone does reply asap thanks :)
Man i wish i new more about cars everyone kicks my ass on forza i have a mustang gt and i race with other mustangs and i get my ass kicked they said they tuned theirs i have no idea how to so
When I plaied the game for the first time, I was killed b/c I didnt know much about cars. My dad helped me tune my mustang gt I can smoke past many cars.
Out of interest, which view do you prefer in the game?
I drive for a living and find that bumper-view is much easier. However, many of hte cars don't even show the bonnet, only a blank screen. This ruins it for me.
I prefer the bumper view, behind the car feels so weird, plus with bumper view the speed/rpm-meters are infront of me. The view from inside the car so I can see the front is also alright but it lacks mirror and speedmeter is in the right.
I didn't have any problems hearing him, I had to listen a bit closer, but maybe there could be some audio balancing due on your system? Maybe that will help =)
It sounds like you're probably locking the tires up in a corner. This means you have to "feather" the brakes. I explain this technique somewhat in the second video. Stiffness in cornering can be a multitude of things. List a few specifics on the setup of your car. I may be able to help from there.
This video was really helpfull in understanding how I can make my tunes perfect.
Would be great if you could do this for the rest of the tuning options as well, because now I have no idea what I'm doing :) (especially when i'm fiddling with my gears)
Wow Pretty darn good video I really enjoyed it. It had all the points pointed and voice was clear and hearable and professional driver with really no mistakes that I could see. Um Im also a noob at tunining and this will give me just a little bit of a competative edge and glad to of learn what toughs settings are for and how they respond cause really I was at a loss for years on tuning, which I found this and am very thankful
Camber settings on a drag set up would need to be set up by first setting up your rear spring height and stiffness (these will vary with the vehicle, weight, HP, etc). Once this is established, you know how much the rear of the car will squat down when you accelerate on launch. From here, watch replays of your launch with different camber settings. Pay attention to the heat measurements. Adjust camber from there to get the flattest (most even heat) contact patch.
so if u for example, buy and upgradse a ferarri, for me it always spins unless its the fxx or f50gt so i would have to change the chamber inner more to stop it from drifting into corners? lol and awsome driving bro
That is a downloadable content car. It came in either the March or September car packs. I do not remember which one, but both are worth the money. Look at the description of each car pack - they say the names of the cars within them. This is an Audi S5.
i need to set up a Full tune for my S2000, for drifting (yes i'm another forza live drifter) I know people put ALOT of work into there tuneing i'd just like to know what i should do roughly, cant seem to get help cause everybody thinks there setups are sacred...
Negative camber on front and rear (dial in the necessary amount for your vehicle via test driving) and positive rear toe. My "Toe" tutorial/s are soon to be added, so keep checking back. Additional settings are needed for drift, but the two I mentioned above are the most crucial. Try setting camber on both front and rear to approx 1.0-1.5 degrees to start. Then, about 1.2 degrees positive rear toe. Hope that helps.
Thanks i Try'd what you said and aftera but of adjustment to suit my small S2000 just .'s of degree's i got alot of responsivness and alot easier sustain out of my drifts. im looking foward to your next video.
Thank you, Veritas! This is exactly the kind of tutorial I need. I'm not a car in the real world, but wish I knew more of what you know. Perhaps then I could get online and be competitive in a race. Please share more. Thanks again.
that helped me more than wikipedia!lol thanks!

....never use positive camber for racing.
That just makes the outside tire around a corner have less grip.

The problem with that view is that you don't get a sense of WHICH CAR you're driving. They all look the same; mirror, RPM/speed...
It just feels like you're floating through the air with the dials hovering in front of you.

From inside the car you can only see the bonnet and not even all cars' have that. The zonda for example doesn't show the hood.

it's because you don't have abs braking on because abs prevents the tires from locking up.
