  • when bono walks away, you can see edges explorer, standing there for pride and there was no time left ;p great musicians, for ever in my heart

  • @stancer237 Very, very true ! Thanks for reacting ! :-))

  • Bono (in 1985) sings songs from an album released 13 years earlier (Lou Reed's Transformer in 1972). The equivalent now is him singing B*Witched

  • @MrMachodan True, but I think there's nothing wrong with covering, if you do it right. Everybody does it, in fact I don't know any singer or band that hasn't done covers. Even a formidable band like R.E.M. did covers. Actually I think it's quite logical, too: there's so much good stuff from the 80s and 90s, why invent the wheel again? Find a good song, by all means cover it, just as long as you do it right and respect the song and the original artist. Thanks for your comments! :-))

  • What would edge do without that delay pedal!

  • @benmols I don't know... Ask him ! :-)))

  • This is the performance that introduced me to the greatness that is U2!!!!!

  • @LEEKYLE99 This is the performance that brought U2 immortal fame... :-))) Thanks for your reaction !

  • bob geldof neglected to invite thin lizzy possibly due to phil lynnott's deamons but Midge ure was a former member of thin lizzy knew the way things were internally

  • Thin Lizzy were another Irish Band from Dublin City...Ireland, But Geldof did,nt invite them?????

  • @calerbass Well..., I think Bob couldn't invite everybody... So I guess he went for the upcoming guys from Dublin... Maybe they (or one of them) were personal friends ? Thanks for commenting ! Merry X-mas ! :-))

  • Let it go.....

  • @TheANDYFRAME YEP !

  • Yeah.....let it go...

  • @TheANDYFRAME I will...! I most certainly will !! :-))

  • Any idea why bono hummed da da dada dum at the start? It was so larry mullen could pick up on the vocals cos the sound was so up and down that day, U2 were awsome.

  • @TheANDYFRAME It was Bono himself, he was the only one with a mike at that specific point in time... The others were talking to the technician. Watch carefully and you can see for yourself. Thanks for your reaction ! :-))

  • @TheANDYFRAME He was singing Sattelite of Love by Lou Reed

  • @MrTimothyWatts True... :-))

  • Sans vouloir jouer les c'etait mieux avant ! , il faut quand meme recconnaitre que l'on ne voit plus des grands concerts de cette force aujourd'hui, et c'est dommage.

  • how he saw those girls...in crowd ???????/

  • @Rjo8976 Ha, he obviously has very clear eyesight...! :-))

  • This is the first U2 song I ever heard...84 I think. In those days we had shitty cars with good stereo systems...cause we were broke lol. My buddy popped this tape in while we were crusing in the chrysler K car and I became Wide Awake.

  • @LoneHornToad I can surely imagine that ! :-)) I recognize that bit about the "shitty cars with good stereo systems" very well... I had one of those myself, if I remember correctly it was a rusty and over-aged black Alfa Romeo GTV with something like a 500 Watt soundsystem in it... It ended it's career by breaking in half on the highway, at near 200 kms/hr. ... Sjeez, that really was what one could call a crash-landing ! :-))

  • OOHH YES....Can always see concert from way back when , there were a littel bit more LOVE...in this now cruel world !!! :)

My best to you all ...outthere somewhere !! ;) ;)

  • @christinamaria36DKQ Thank you very much for your lovely comment Christina, my very best wishes to you, too ! :-))

  • Me tragué toda la retransmisión que TVE ofreció ininterrumpidamente en directo del Live Aid. Y fue ver este tema y me volví fanático de U2. Nunca había tenido un flechado musical como este. You Too, Me Too!!!

  • @antoniopolvazquez OK... I'm sorry, I don't read Spanish but a friend of mine does, so I had your comment translated. I just hope you understand English: thank you for your nice comment ! Same with me, I also had lost track of U2 for some years but when I found this clip back again a couple of months ago, I was sold again, too...! As you said: You Too, Me Too !!! Thanks again, my Spanish friend ! :-))

  • I cant stop listening (grinz)

  • @Roselien2 Good for you !! :-)) You're learning !! :-D

  • @eloyz2009 Thanks for your reaction my friend. Unfortunately I don't understand it: I don't read or speak Spanish... But I have deduced from your reaction that you like the clip :-)) Thanks ! :-))

  • @DanaFritzy how could i not forget this magnificent song. live Aid. which was transmitted at a global scale from MTV. I remember what those days, U2 had already publicized 5 albums: The Unforgettable Fire, Under a Blood Red Sky, War, October and Boy, it was the day in which Bono conquered the world. That day I never left the TV screen. At that time, there was only one musical genre, for me it was rock and roll, the British and the American wave. conquered the world.

    there yo go mate!

  • @lenny123456 Lenny, man, you're ever so right, my feelings all the way ! :-)) Thank you so much for your comments and support ! :-))) Greetz, Ax.

  • i guess you have to divide u2 in 4 parts... the early 80's (Boy-october-war) the late 80's (unforgettable fire, joshua tree rattle and hum), the 90's (achtung baby-zooropa-pop) and 00's, (all that you cant...how to dismantle... and no line on the horizon)

  • @dieguiringo I think that's a very good analysis... How would you describe "360º" ? Personally I would say: a culmination of 30 years of achievement...? I couldn't find a better description, unfortunately...

  • @DanaFritzy maybe you could define it as... the perfect tour of 30 years of great music... maybe

  • @dieguiringo Ha ha ! :-)) Yes, I think that really sums it up quite adequately :-))

  • the 80's was U2 at there best.

  • @9876GREENday You're absolutely right ! Thanks for commenting !

  • Sure way to brighten ANYone's day! They can take my car, my home, my job, but never can take away my memories or tunage. Here's to you Bryant!

  • @CarynMBurke Ha ha ha ! :-))) You're ever so right ! Thanks !!

  • This is the U2 pediod that deserves to be listened, besides this song has a real deep background and message which are well reflected in Bono´s perfomance. Like¡

  • @hallowedbeharris1 Absolutely true ! Thanks for your reaction :-)

  • 7:18 Bono didn't jumped down just for show, he was frantically saving a girl being crushed in the crowd whom he "dances" with afterwards. That's why he is awesome.

  • @redhorn40 I know, and you're right ! He says so in his interview (see "Excerpt from BAD"). Thanks for commenting ! :-))

  • u2 is the best!

  • @11gll ... Well... Almost...! :-)))

  • @DanaFritzy jjaja yeah! i liked the hair! :D

  • @11gll :-))

  • I was there...What a wonderful day was for planet earth. I remember I left Naples (Italy) 2 days before live aid by train.....the night before Live Aid we met Bob Geldof, Paul Young and George Michael in a Pub in London. Great times...Ciao!!

  • @Giancait68 Thanks for your reaction :-) Those were the days my friend ! Ciao !! :-))

  • this is a clear way to show that we all need to love one another...I do understand that we all can get mad at each other at one time or another - we can all still chill and love each other after we talk ablout our differences- ALL WE NEED IS LOVE...John Winston Lennon.

  • @johnnygrulez I can only say that you're very, very right...! I have been trying to practice this for all my life... Thanks very much for your comments ! :-)))

  • @johnnygrulez Very nice! I have an entire playlist on JWL and was blessed w/my son born JWL's B'day ... 10/9/99. May I ask where you read this particular quote? I can hear him saying it in his cool, calm, thought provoking tone.

  • @CarynMBurke Sorry for reacting to your message so late: I saw it tonight for the first time ! But what "particular quote" do you mean ? The one about Bono disappearing into the crowd ?? Thanks for reacting ! :-))

  • U2byU2 , give it a read.

This is the best live song U2 performed in my opinion.

  • @Vaporjams I think you have come very close to the truth... Point is, there are so many fantastic performances of so many fantastic songs that it's very hard to decide which one is the best... This performance surely is the most impressive of them all, especially since they were so brandnew at the game...! :-)) Thanks for your comments !

  • Still loving this, R.I.P Greg Carroll, he's the one who put Bono's mic back and jumped in the crowd with him. Long live One Tree Hill.

  • @KawiKaRs Thanks very much for your reaction and information ! I didn't konw that, about Greg Carroll... "One Tree Hill" is a superb song, and one of my all-time favourites ! :-)) Thanks again !

  • U2's Joshua Tree concert at Elland Road, Leeds was the greatest. Supported by The Pretenders and Mission. Magic day. Glad I was there.

  • u2 flove this live version , never get tired if it ....im 41 now still lov it .

  • Thanks for the video response! Feel free to response back!

  • @SergiuliKa25 Thanks for your advice :-) I have bought a complete set some months ago: the TV together with a Philips Blueray player and some 15-20 Blueray discs... I know what Full HD looks like :-) I live in Holland, we have several TV-channels broadcasting in HD, a.o. the ones you mentioned.

Back to U2: I don't understand: the video itself states "YouTube HD", down-right in the corner (when you play it at 720p... I suppose Popmartour upscaled it to HD himself then ? Don't know, never asked...

  • @SergiuliKa25 OK, thanks ! My TV is a little better, though: it's a Philips 107 cm Full HD - Pixel Plus (1080p)... :-)

But I can watch this clip in 720p quality, which should be (normal) HD ? Mayby it depends on one's computerscreen, my screen is 720p...

  • @SergiuliKa25 It's probably a stupid question but what's SD ? Super Definition ???

  • @asseU2 One THOUSAND percent right !!! :D

  • chills!

  • @globalsecurityexpert ...down your spine !

  • Not to mention, a nice insight to segues and artists revered by U2 in the future from the past!

  • @KawiKaRs Absolutely true !

  • Of something cruel comes something amazing.

  • @KawiKaRs Unfortunately not always, but in this case... :-)

  • Recovery works, if you work it!!

  • @theonlytruepunk DEEP !!! :D

  • I absolutely and totally agree ! Thanks for your comment ! :-)

  • i think this captures u2 at their very best.....
