  • I always had this song in my playlist when I used to fly a lot. There's something special about hearing this song at 30,000 feet.

  • @dagan8er absolute best part of a great song indeed

  • Audible orgasm begins at 1:48

  • what a voice!!!!

  • what ever happened to these guys i love this albulm got me through college and a lot of other shit x

  • THE ENDING BEGINNING@ 3:16 IS SICK!!! HER VOCALS ARE THE BOMB!

  • so many memories from this band. insert tears and/or tapping foot.

  • Wow, every time I listen to this song, from 3:15 onward makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Haunting, beautiful, angelic....

  • I do have more than 20 years loving this song..always it is a good time for that heavenly voice.

  • don't tell someone, when you do them a favor

  • @popvids40 R+B = ?

  • This was a picture disc when it came out on vinyl. Great memories. Great voice, jangly guitar....nothing better.

  • finding a pound on the underground - unashamedly English - so many memories, so much lost joy

  • @HuishEpiscopi I served in Europe when I first heard this and had a simple moment after a bad break up. I understood.

  • Great!

  • Am I too young?

  • This may very well have the best final refrain of any song in human history!

  • @trooperJac Yes!

  • EVERYBODY....You've got to check out a band, called "Lindsay & Isaac" !! They have a very similar sound and they're excellent!!!

I'm dead serious! If you like and miss the Sundays, Check out Lindsay & Isaac.

  • their first album was by far the best

2nd & 3rd 's something i haven't been listening too that much since it kinda lacked the sundays feeling i got with the first album, just about every single song on the first album sounded exactly how it should've sounded, couldn't add anything or find anything wrong

    it's a magical album if u ask me (:

  • pre LSD and teen angst listened to it over and over again, post acid never heard it again till now, happy memories of butt ugly goth girls indeed:) (oops sorry indie chicks!)

  • I agree with you that this is way better than anything we hear nowadays, but you can't dismiss some of the crap the 90s produced. "Ice Ice Baby" and "Rico Suave" ring any bells? Every decades got it's crap

  • @supastar4353 yeah.. but he the problem now is that everything is crap. get it?

  • My finest hour was when i smashed a bottle of Guinness upside this guys head when he said Harriet was a cunt. I laughed as he bled! LMAO

  • I love the Sundays

  • Wait. The ending of this song. I think this is the song that I have been looking for. I KNEW it was The Sundays!

  • Mother Creator

    ~~ Loves a finest hour ~~

  • omg I've been looking everywhere for this song

  • my fave Sundays track.......takes me back !! Thanks..

  • My favourite song from this genius band. Viva la Harriet!

  • makes me happy :)

  • This album is the greatest, most underrated ever... Full of melancholy, brooding, but pretty on the surface songs.

  • Bought this album from HMV yesterday! I was probably about 1 year old when this album came out. But I remembered the old tin out version of ''heres where the story ends'' not knowing it wasnt the original version. Sooo i hear the sundays version (original) on the radio (may have been xfm) and so I realise this girl has a pretty unique voice and songs sounds very 'Smiths' inspired. I;ve been playing the album over and over again. Fook cheryl cole, lady gaga, tinie tempah...All that shyte!!

  • Probably the best song on a killer album.

  • GOD- I miss this band A LOT!!!

  • Une pure merveille.

  • phenomenal singer - perfect pitch - it's so accurate and expressive.

  • no shit I have actually worn out this album on tape!!

  • an unbelievably beautiful song! still gives me shivers every time! also just want to say that paul brindley's bass playing is very unique! what a great band... gone but not forgotten!!

  • @grapenutsrbt so you're basically saying that you'd enjoy being dry butt raped more than listening to this song? i can believe that!

  • adorable song....

  • she starts to fall in love with an innocent younger guy, but with her experience she sees that the relationship cannot stand (for worldly reasons, perhaps because of the age difference, distance, or her fears of her own lack of commitment). her "finest hour" is turning him away before he gets too attached, to save him from the hurt that she knows must come if they were to deepen their relationship.

  • @olganpur

nonono. its about banging fat louise in the shed. and not getting nabbed.

  • @olganpur ; Clever interpretation!

  • such a pretty song.

  • God this whole album was too brilliant for words. Love her voice.

  • holy crap- her voice at the end is SOOO AMAZING

  • my volume wont go loud enough! love to play this really loud and sing my heart out haha

  • I live in the St. Louis, MO area and heard this song the other day at a Taco Bell restaurant of all places...I'd heard it before, I believe, but definitely took more notice this time of the lyrics so I could find out who did it. Great song!! Kind of reminded me of Annie Haslam from Renaissance (another GREAT singer & group!). I'll have to check into more from The Sundays!! :)

  • heard this song today at cvs, I had to search for it and comment on it to say that it's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, the guitar and especially the VOCALS

  • The perfect gift is this song with a british sterling pound.

  • Those minor keys/chords and chord changes kill me.

  • @mrgrt1

That is exactly the same way I feel. I find that all the songs that strike a deep emotional chord within me have those types of quick minor key changes

  • The more Sundays songs on youtube the better! Thanks CoQ10z, you and all Sundays fans are welcome to my channel.

  • @AfanofTheSundays I'am CoQ10z. ~_^

  • What happened to all those pretty girls in floral dresses, cardies, and DM boots - and occasional Sundays t shirt with pears on the front - circa 1990?

  • @transonicbuoy1 i am with you!

  • Every time i hear this song it puts me into a trance. It's quite possibly the most beautiful song ever.

  • They have a few songs like that.

  • Harriet forever!!!

  • this song reminds me of a beautiful sunny day :)

  • i heard this in cvs n had no clue what it was but fell in love with it n remembered the words:"we r who we r what do the others know but poertry is not for me" n looked it up cuz i looove it i cant believe how different n nice it is.

  • I love this song!! The Sundays were my very first concert. My older sister took me to see them in 1990 when they were touring the U.S. to promote this album. It was a wonderful night!!

  • Harriet saved my life

  • This is one of my favorite songs from their first album. Of their 3 albums, Blind is my favorite. I would recommend all three albums, but be aware that each one has a very different style--although they all feature Wheeler's beautiful voice and Gavurin's great guitar work.

  • Wheeler and Gavurin...a match made in heaven.

  • "Was finding a pound, for the underground."

  • DEMURER - I menat to put a thumbs up, sorry! X

  • Just heard this in my car on the way to work. This album is my favorite. Will need to get "Blind" too as I enjoy 3 songs on it so far. Anyone recommend their last album?

  • Damn, I accidentally gave it only 2 stars - what I meant was 5, of course!

Such a great song with just the right mix of a beautiful voice, endearing lyrics and a melancholy, yet strangely uplifting melody...

Makes me miss the 90s so much!

  • my favourite song of all time, maybe.

  • wonderful vocals i never get tired of listening to this.. harriet wheeler's best vocal imho.. :-)

  • Esta rola es de mis favoritas!!!!

  • This is great, i'm going to have to buy the album now :-)

  • I really love this song.

  • I never knew this song came out in 1990, this song is definitely way ahead of its time, I used to think this song came out in the early 2000s

  • Great song!

  • Yes it is !!

    My favourite Sundays song !!

  • This song makes me want to hit the road.....I never knew what she was saying at the end till I read the lyrics...hehe
