@delamorena36 in 1922 we do not lose 100.000 men in 4 days as you said..lets toke the historical facts from the begining..the small greece in just 2 years{1919-1921} arrived at the gates of ankara..we lose the battle of sankarya but we hold our lines until 1922..from 1921 the french italians and soviets rearmed the turkish army ..the greek army was tired and with no suplies

The 2nd reason is, Ankara implied the soviets that they had the intention to establish a socialist state after the war. It wouldn't only legalize the conquest of entire island but Turkey would also take back the entire western thrace and aegean macedonia till thessaloniki. Greeks knew it and they only send 2 C-130's full of soldiers. and 1 of those were shot down by greek cypriots, but it happens, friendly fires always cause casualties

@delamorena36 in 1922 we do not lose 100.000 men in 4 days as you said..lets toke the historical facts from the begining..the small greece in just 2 years{1919-1921} arrived at the gates of ankara..we lose the battle of sankarya but we hold our lines until 1922..from 1921 the french italians and soviets rearmed the turkish army ..the greek army was tired and with no suplies

French, Italians, English were all making parts of Turkey a colonny, when the British retreated their troops they called in Greeks to invade Anatolia, you landed in Izmir and came to Ankara because Ataturk used the tactic wich Russians have used against Napoleon.

@antreanakis Actually Lenin helped us for 2 reasons, first, that we were fighting against imperialism and their minions. According to marxism such a challenge had to be supported. The 2nd reason is, Ankara implied the soviets that they had the intention to establish a socialist state after the war. Here we see the genius of Mustafa Kemal who gained soviet support by establishing an analogy between soviet revolution and Turkish war of independence.

@antreanakis If Greeks sent troops to Cyprus in 1974 it would be another great disaster for Greece.. It wouldn't only legalize the conquest of entire island but Turkey would also take back the entire western thrace and aegean macedonia till thessaloniki. Greeks knew it and they only send 2 C-130's full of soldiers. and 1 of those were shot down by greek cypriots, but it happens, friendly fires always cause casualties

Failures of communication causes casualties even in today though. Maybe you remember Americans accidentally killed some brits in Iraq a couple of years ago becuz they thought they were iraqis.. By the way I thought 1 but apperantly greek cypriots shot down multiple C-130's of Greek air force
