Technical analysis is not a perfect science. But certain aspects of it are very useful to the investor, and shouldn't be overlooked. IE higher lows and lower highs indicates the stock can make a big move in either direction. The investor should use this technical analysis in better TIMING THE TRADE... Reading Technicals/the chart is good for trader AND investor so don't overlook it! Why leave data out of the equation when deciding the fate of your hard-earned and invested dollars?!
Technical analysis is important - more relied on by the traders; while fundamental analysis is predominantly used by the investor... The Fundies (debt, profits, expenditures, managerial competency and vision, sector-growth, etc.) is vital knowledge for the investor: why hand over your money to a lost or failing cause? (hint: it's not because a friend, or someone on TV told you to!)
Read "Conquer the Crash" by Robert Prechter for sound advice on dealing with the catastrophe that is now unfolding. We're seeing the result of a 200 year bull market coming to it's conclusion. See the Big Picture!
The EWI video finds the same peak as my work: July 2005. That's when the US Builders peaked, and property went negative about a year later. We are seeing the same pattern in the UK now.

Read Karl Marx and see that he predicted all this before and it will happen again, again and again.
