@ItsNastiaFan101 You are right. I wasn't aware that her routine was given a lower value at worlds. She got credit for it at Nationals and maybe Pan Ams. The skill is a C when piked. It's possible that since the straddled version isn't listed and she didn't present it beforehand as a new skill, expecting to get credit for a lili as usual, it wasn't evaluated as part of her routine. I doubt they would only credit that skill as an A since clear pike circle by itself is a C.
@ItsNastiaFan101 Unless something else was devalued, I don't think she could've gotten D credit for the German giant. That would put her at 6.6 instead of 6.5.
Also, just to clarify, I was mentioning the clear pike circle being a C to illustrate why I thought clear pike circle to straddle cut would not be an A. That would make the release a lower value than it's root skill. I can see them making it a B since the piked version is a C but not an A. I
wow huge difference! teza actually has flight in her release. hong releases but its just a hop (no real flight and shouldnt even be valued as a tkatchev).
Irina Krasnyanskaya used to do this skill, too. It was actually really pretty good.

"arent they doing different moves though?" Yes, but Ivana was getting credit for the same move as Elvire.

She actually didn't get credit for that release, it was only given an 'A' value, which is why they took it out for 2008.

@tcseeme They gave her the D credit for the German giants, just not the release move, as it was just a hop, no flight involved.

@tcseeme her stalder 1/1 was really late, they devalue a skill 1 letter if it finishes at or close to horizontal, which hers did.
ItsNastiaFan101 1 year ago
@ItsNastiaFan101 You're right. That gives her the 6.5.

Don't worry, Ivana's wasn't given the full value, only an A at worlds.
