I think they give too much away too early in the series about her past. In the manga you knew virtually nothing until quite late on, when it made you go "ooooh! That explains so much!". I would have liked it if they showed less of her past and kept the watcher guessing.

I love how the author of the book series came up with the idea of a shy artist with a terrible past and this guy(who u can also relate to the most popular guy in school) who has an outgoing personality with also a not-so-great past and makes them come together. He opens her eyes and to me it's an amazing love story, not fantasy...something that could actually happen and it's something very real. @norahsaneth It's kinda dissapointing, in the manga there was'nt many hints that the female/Kira had a past until about halfway through the story....That way it was much more suprising when what had happened to her was revealed. In this version of MARS it's too obvious what happened to her (sexual assault, duh), sort of waters down the thrill I got from reading the manga ...cause there's no suprises with this version of Kira.
