  • youre all assholes john wayne pratically built this nation he was one of the greatest actors ever he was a real man not like the actors today hes the best no doubt

  • @SoqqyDonutZ John Wayne spent his time in the makeup trailer and begging for deferments out of the military while Jimmy Stewart actually fought in the war despite being married, having kids, being famous and pushing 40! Jimmy Stewart is *such* a man that he was willing to read a poem that brought him to tears on the Johnny Carson show about his recently passed away dog. *That's* what a real man is. Wayne was a blustery tin-plated blowhard.

  • Wayne and his nationalism, as ever... Anyway, it was a great film!!

  • OMG!! What total rubbish!! I know if people have read all about the attack on the Alamo mission. A small history lesson. The battle started at about 6 am in the morning, by the time the sun add risen - it was all over. It did not start mid afternoon like Mr. Wayne would have you beleave.

  • PILGRIM

  • Ron Paul stood by what was right and was 'whalloped' for it...for decades.

But the people are finally ready to hear the truth...and thus Ron Paul is one of the rare people who gets to see the impact a good person can have. Most die before the impact kicks in.

Anyway, thank God that Ron Paul did not become just another compromising 'dead as a beaver hat' politician.

    Ron Paul 2012

  • I don't know what brought Steve McQueen into the discussion, but if you're looking for somebody to rival the Duke in coolness I'd go with Paul Newman. Nobody beats Wayne but Newman and McQueen both come close.

  • Davy Crocket and John Wayne not much in common

  • what a legend john wayne is!! mr america, is there a cooler actor than him? steve mc queen is certainly up there!!

  • steve mcqueen was a badass but not anywhere close to even sniffing john wayne's ass

  • lol i love em both, when i see them they just represent america to me. they are proper old skool actors, drank heavy smoked heavy loved the ladies, almost rock n roll!! legends!!!!

  • @goldyn12345

and lest we forget Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin.

  • @GojyotheFeared for me john wayne and steve mc queen are the coolest actors ever, both yeah marvin and bronson are definitely up there!! point break and mr majestyk!! class films!!

  • @goldyn12345

Hm. I was thinking The Dirty Dozen and The Magnificent Seven.

But good film suggestions non the less.

  • @GojyotheFeared haha yeah they are brilliant films too, dont you think films and actors were much better before?

  • @goldyn12345

Yea. Before Shitlight(twilight) and hannah montana.

Not to mention the fuck up on the national anthem during the super bowl.

Seriously. Screaming and bad octave changes on notes doesn't really constitute as singing....

  • Excellent!, One of John Wayne best films, JohnWayne is my favourite cowboy actor.

Thanks fer posting this video clip. 5 Stars.

Thanks to BreshiBaraElohim fer sharing this vide.

  • Unfortunately, they don't teach REAL US History in schools. The Battle of the Alamo was not about freedom. I am not belittling their 13 day struggle with it to be commended. I realize I may get a thumbs down for this but I think our entire country is brainwashed to think that our poop does not skink. We as a country do have a past which like many people is not necessarily a nice one past. But that past makes us what we are today.

  • Yes, Santa Anna was a freedom loving leader.

  • The Alamo wasn't about freedom? Are you on drugs? hahaha oh my god!!!! I can't believe your from TEXAS!!!!

  • >God bless John Wayne

    >He was a lousy actor but his message was always right on point!

  • a lousy actior, he was the most powerful actor to ever grace the screen, he was type cast in his 50s and 60s but was still excellent

  • @BLCalifornia he was not lame bro

  • We are dead as a beaver hat for four years....but we shall over come the "Obamity Factor!"

  • what a speech from crockett,he is a true american legend

  • My respects to the men of Alamo!

    Thank you for posting that.

    Greetings from Germany

  • Crockett might have been a foreign invader working for Jackson, as you suggest, but once Santa Ana became dictator and abrogated the 1824 Constitution, the struggle turned into a revolution waged by both Anglos and Hispanics (mostly Mexican citizens). Due to the generalissimo's tyranny, his failed campaign gave birth to a nation. Later, with the will of the people, the Republic of Texas was swept up in Manifest Destinty, while Mexico languished in anarchy half a century longer.

  • Actually I don't think that Crockett was working for Jackson as they were bitter political enemies. It was Jackson's powerful political machine that handed Crockett his electoral defeat and led to his (and I know I'm misquoting this a bit) "...they can all go to hell, I'm going to Texas".

  • @wildbillOK Crockett hated Jackson, thats why he lost re-election and said "you all can go to hell and I'll go to Texas"

  • The democratic government of Mexico offered land grants to encourage immigratation from another young and democratic nation. Mexico saw them as skilled indian fighters who could tame, settle, and develope Mexico City's far off Tejas territory.

  • Mexico's constitution was very similiar to the US model. Mexico's democracy fell under a right wing military coup. The coup's leader, General Santa Anna saw himself as the Napeoleon of America. Tejas was part of a larger rebellion which broke out all over Mexico. Note the Alamo's defenders chose to fly a Mexican flag with the year 1824 prominently sewn in the middle. They were not

  • "invading Anglos stealing Texas from Mexico" as so much misinformed racially motovated propagana states. Tejanos, or Mexican/Texans in this new country, fought just as vailantly alongside their new neighbors from the US. Their freedoms were no less threatened.

  • In the final analysis the Republic of Texas should have not stopped with annexation, but rather spread into all of Mexico to form a stable, democratic country free from the reign of Spanish aristocrats. Things would be so much different.

  • That's how I see it anyway, it's all based on the historical record. Recent events along the border draw my concluding statement. If the US continues to sell out its democracy and economy to international capitalist perhaps this story is not yet finished? I'll fight to reunite Texas with Mexico if it means a new start. Regards from San Antonio.

  • john wayne is a fucking legend,he is mr america,no he is america.

  • If nothing else, this makes you wonder what David Crockett was doing at the Alamo and why he elected to give his life for the cause. And whether the rest of us could ever meet that challenge. Good words, Duke, whether Davy ever said anything like them or not.

  • I don't think he INTENDED that, it just ended up that way. I think that is what makes him a hero. He really was an amazing man in life, and if you know his life's story it makes what he chose to do at the end all the more admirable. I certainly agree with you. And I'm not even an American, but I think they're good words for anyone, anywhere.

  • That's an intro to a Ron Paul speech!

  • What has happen to America.

  • really

  • Whoops there it is.
