  • @Vamp7996 thank you very much! oui je suis bien Français! lol!! well, i'm happy to see how my impro is enjoy, one year after i'm still very happy with it, thank you so much :D

  • poser!

  • @2Spillner2 lol!

  • @biker5211, Thanks for the reply, I have not really looked into modes or understood their application, but this might have just helped me understand it a little! So he has to be careful not to play that F# in the D maj chord? Otherwise it would not sound right, or he would have to use the F# or F accordingly depending on what D chord variation he uses?

  • Great playing, can anyone answer the music theory behind this song? I don't really understand how a Dm pentatonic scale (what this looks like to me) works over the progression D C and G? I would think it would work only over a D blues - 1 4 5 (D G A)? The C is throwing me off as well as the F note in the scale...can anyone help here?

  • @fishmank27 don't know anything on theorie.....thank you very much :)

  • @fishmank27 he's using a mode. basically, he's playing a regular scale but he's using the 5 chord (a D) as the 'root.' its called mixolydian mode. and he can get away with the minor because theres not 3rd to tell if its major or minor. try playing the D, C, G. Really, it's D5, C, G. it's D5 because theres no F or F#. but play the D, C, G, and subistitute the D5 for Dmajor and Dminor. Neither sound wrong, just different. Thats my best explanation.

  • No this kind of soloing is just fine with single coils. That's what SRV and Kenny Wayne Sheppard use!

  • That kind of soloing would sound ten times better with a humbucker in the middle position. It would certainly give it more soul than those single coils.

    Good speed though!

  • Thanks! :)

  • @wrigleyx Not to be offensive, but you realize KWS plays this on a Fender Strat with three single coils also. As well, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughan also played Fender Strats with single coils as blues players. What is more, Jeff Healey, one of the most notable blues men of our times, played predominantly Squier Strats with single coils. It's more about the technique than the pickups.

  • good job, but may i ask y u do a solo through the entire second verse?

  • thanks a lot :) well, for fun man, only for fun. I love to play guitar, i'm a Kenny Wayne fan, i have a Kenny signature strat now, and, well, i have fun with people who are in love with guitar's music like me, like blues, rock etc....that's it

  • just keep playing! great to see this much talent for the blues.are you in a band?

    thanks

  • thank you very much! even if my blues playing sound like Satch/Gilbert sometimes ha ha ha!!! but, i try to play it "root" as possible!! thank you very much for supporting me!!

and, no i dont have band, unfortunaly...!

  • All I have to say is WOW. That was so incredible, and I wish i had half that talent. The life of an Arthritic guitarist such as myself is sad, I'll never be able to play that, even 10 times slower. You are so great, i could listen to this over and over for YEARS and love it more each time. You now have a die-hard fan, if you don't mind me being so.
