I hope when the NBA's TV contract ends, that NBC makes a real push to get the NBA back!... I HATE the NBA on ABC/ESPN!... They do such a horrible job covering the games including the playoffs and Finals. The commentators are really bad. Mike Tirico and Hubie Brown are boring, and Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy are the worst!... Loved the NBA on NBC, with Bob Costas doing the pre-game show, and Marv Albert with Bill Walton and Steve "Snapper" Jones... It was really entertaining back then,

Oh this brings back so many memories! Granted as a Knicks fan not all of them were happy, but hey the Knicks-Bull/Heat/Pacers games of the 90s were EPIC! Every time this music came on I dropped whatever I was doing and ran to my living room for the NBA. It was truly an event in my household. Watching the NBA on NBC and hearing that tune is something huge that I remember from my childhood. It was the quintessential sports theme from 1990-2002, defining moments such as Jordan's championships and jaw-dropping moves through health and sickness, Reggie Miller scoring last second jumpers during a heated feud with both the New York Knicks and Spike Lee, breaking the New York Knicks' hearts at the Garden several times in the 90s, and the Lakers coming in game 7 of the 2000 Western Finals.

If I knew the Red Sox, for example, were absolutely guaranteed to win the World Series, why would I watch the regular season? I might watch the World Series to experience the moment, but the rest would be irrelevant.
