Ahh...this reminds me of this game's only flaw...the bug that sometimes occurs after a battle where the game just freezes up...oh yeah, happened to me twice on the way up this tower. Why...WHHYYYYYY!?!?!?!?!?

@IndalecioCeleste not only can you completely break this game on the first disc, the music really isn't that good (none of it catchy outside of a select few battle themes), the plot is convoluted and eventually just deteriorates, the translation is atrocious in most places-

But it's good looking, it plays alright, and it's fun. The whole is more fun than the sum of its parts.

Those are all your opinion; the majority consensus however is that the soundtrack is amazing "personally the best game soundtrack of all time to me, and I've listened to that piece of shit soundtrack from Persona, or whatever the hell other JRPG you think is superior...", and the plot is excellent. I'm not quite sure how you think the plot "deteriorates". Perhaps your short attention span just caused your tiny mind to wander off somewhere. Go play FFXIII, you deserve it.

@IndalecioCeleste There's really no point in me arguing about a game over a decade old, but I would never ever call this "the best" anything. You can ride high on your nostalgia horse, but SO2 is only remarkable because it was still way better than most of the other garbage we got on PS1.

Also, I've played FFXIII and it is probably the least enjoyable game I've ever forced myself to finish. Just bad, bad, bad. FFIX, now there is a fucking classic.

@HackedStats Hell yes, I am in agreement about IX. Best Final Fantasy game period. I'm sorry though, I'd rather stay on my high horse of nostalgia than get off and look around at the so-called "evolution" of gaming. I can appreciate FPS games, and I'll admit to even liking Call of Duty's campaigns because they do tell good stories, but we're living in a world where gamers don't even care about the game's campaign anymore, they just care about how high their kill-count is.

I'd love to see you whine and complain and defend to the death the mediocrity of Final Fantasy 8 or Final Fantasy 10. You probably have a subscription to Final Fantasy XIV don't you? @IndalecioCeleste FF8 and FF10 are my least favorite entries in the series actually (never even finished them), and people who viciously defend them drive me crazy because you're right, they are somewhat mediocre. I know what I like, and what I like is pretty good, and honestly? I like SO2. Mostly because of nostalgia, bro.

By the way, only a moron would pay Square for FFXIV. It would be like handing someone cash to have their dog shit on your face. Also, isn't it free right now anyway?

Star Ocean fan in the whole world than me. Damn I love Star Ocean. I just got really pissed off, and I let my temper get the better of me. And yes, only a moron would pay Square for FFXIV. I don't know what Square Enix is thinking anymore. They've killed every series I love: Seiken Densetsu, Parasite Eve, Brave Fencer Musashi, Final Fantasy...and now they're making FFXIII-2. :C

@IndalecioCeleste Hey hey now, they haven't done anything Seiken Densetsu yet- at least, not that I'm aware of. SD3 will always be a great game. As far as I'm concerned, 3rd Birthday's not a PE game anyway (it's not even called 'Parasite Eve').

Musashi was pretty bad on PS1 and I can't fathom why he Kingdom Heartsed the hell out of it in the sequel. This shit is happening because Wada fucking sucks at his job but refused to resign after the PR disaster that was FFXIV.

@HackedStats Dawn of Mana, PS2. Isn't that Seiken-Densetu related? And unfortunately as much as either of us would hate to admit it, The 3rd Birthday is really Parasite Eve 3; Square Enix just doesn't know how to name video games right, "ex: the words Dissidia and Duodecim are silly, and FFXIII-2, and FFX-2 are just laughable as well." And now Square Enix is in debt...pity. I hope Dragon Quest doesn't suffer for Square's mediocrity.
