if u going to push anything it isnt ur abs,u should probably breathe downwards and expand ur ribs outwards all round .but, good singing is based on good vocal function and freedom and not about how much you breathe, as long as your breath doesnt interupt the sound production in a negative way.
im gonna go to "e"'s house at night and sneak up on him sleeping. then put a pillow over his face and shoot my 45' with hollow bullets.......your welcome
Hello Tom and Singing Sccess its been a while since i watched your video but i really enjoyed this one and I learnt lots on this and I hope you will have a great wonderful rest of your day Quadracer687 (Laura)
Maybe someone could animate it, so we've have some more detailed information on the WHY and for some the HOW. Educate us:D How does that sound from a nineteen year old LOL
@corneliu9d Yeah. When you breathe in your stomach should be going out. Have you ever seen ppl when they are working with a coach and their hand is on their tummy...that's why.lol
@Will9323 Oh, I know that. I was talking about support when exhaling. And I think he is talking about pushing the stomach forward while singing a note. But maybe I am wrong...
@Will9323 Well, he is saying the same thing on his website: "When you get to the top of a phrase, or exercise, and you find it is difficult to achieve because of volume or range, gently push out on your abs at the highest note and feel the difference it makes."
@corneliu9d I've learned, and please do correct me if im wrong (anyone); You slowly 'make you tummy go inward' (i dunno the phrase it differently lol) so you have absolute control while singing. Pushing 'your abs' forward while exhaling/singing doesnt make sense to me at all. But maybe if you push out your abs, so tighten them, you gently make the air go through your vocal area and then you're able to reach that high note without straining/pushing your voice with too much strength.
Some say breath support is important others say is not. ... it's confusing

Did he say "push the abs FORWARD"? Is this the proper technique for support?
I always tighten my abs muscles, not push forward. Am I doing it wrong?
