He is tormented because the decision for a man to change his sex is not natrual. It is another influence fighting against his own humanity. He describes his confusion by saying things like he wishes he could have just been gay, its in his head etc. This shows you that it is not biological. All decisions start in the mind. The action to follow those decisions leads to the consequences. Once he physically changes his body he will be permanently deformed. God can help him but he must turn to God.

Lea is very brave! One statement she made is incorrect - not all transsexuals start off as gay men. And not all of them want surgical conversion of their penis into a vagina. Some of them are strictly lesbian and some like their penis. It varies from person to person. Anecdotal suggestion is that roughly 1/3rd prefer men, another 1/3rd prefer women, and the rest are bi. There could be some patterns, but they do not all like men.
