Así somos los mexicanos, sentimentales de corazón para con lo noble y bello... lo nostálgico, sobre todo cuando se trata de nacionalismos. Cabe recordar no obstante, que desde un punto de vista académico, 'La paloma' fue escrita por un maestro español: Yradier y Salaverri, parte de su repertorio de habaneras (Cuba, c. 1860). Gracias, A. Según he sabido, esta bella canción --de fama internacional-- es del español Sebastián de Iradier (ó Yradier), compuesta aldedor de 1862; entiendo que fue por inspiración del viaje que hiciera el autor a Cuba unos años antes (de ahí el estilo de habanera). ¿Tiene Vd algún dato que indique que es mexicana? Me encanta, como a millones de mis paisanos aztecas pero... no creo que la pieza deba considerarse de México. Atte., Un amigo.

La habanera nació en el golfo de México, entre Habana, Veracruz y Nueva Orleáns.
