  • The Oneders thats a funny name....

  • Right on for this song i have to say its my favorite version of this song..

  • The chordvettes like the chords in our music

  • I keep coming back to the heardsmen....

  • The Band You're About to Hear

  • @3234718 How bout the big tippers?

  • @moriahnelsonsings Or the Chordvettes, like chords in our music

  • its not by the wonders. fuck jimmy.

  • @aro327 You gotta understand something about Jimmy. His standards are way up there cuz he's so smart. He tested in high school at genius levels....So that's why. I feel terrible; I'm gonna go to bed.

  • Chordsmen

  • I think that if the ending were different, this would have been the song chosen as the main tune for the movie. As written, the ending of the song is exactly the same as "I'll Be There For You", the "Friends" theme. Maybe that made the producers shy away from this song so the movie didn't seem too contemporary.

  • Ditto!!!! Thanks for posting........I always look forward to this movie's "end credits" just to hear this song!

  • brings me back to when i was a little kid... simpler times <3

  • Absolutely killer song here. Best from the soundtrack.

  • By far, the best song of the movie: peppy, touching...an authentic oldie but goldie!

  • so underrated!!! but it is also my movie's fav song

  • so underrated!!! but it is also my movie's fav

  • Terriffic song, as are all the songs in this film.

Has anyone ever seen Tom Hanks in a bad movie?

  • @orriblebob nope! why? becuase he's the greatest of all time. i love him <3

  • @kaleelee2309 I absolutely agree, He's great!

  • @orriblebob Well, I love Tom Hanks, but Turner and Hooch, The Money Pit, Neighbors, The Man With One Red Shoe, and Dragnet were all pretty crappy. It took a while for Tom to find his groove.

  • I don't know why, but I keep going back to the Heardsmen...lol

  • awesome song! i used to watch this movie over and over when i was a kid. and to my amazement, i actually found my cassette tape of the soundtrack just a few days ago. couldn't believe it.

this film has been seriously underrated.

  • Love this movie, totally underrated, love this song also, thanks for sharing!

  • Seriously. Who would dislike this song?

  • love love love love this song, and movie :)

  • This was a kool movie.

  • (Imagining) This was from The Wonders reunion single, years after their break-up. ;-)

  • @outlaw6066 lol i know right!!!

  • thanks I love this song

  • my all time fav track :)

  • One of my favorite movies :).

The whole cast was funny, especially loved how there was no name for the drummer.

  • @Jmg1792 You mean the base player. The drummer's name was guy. Still, your point is entirely valid.

"A guy in a REALLY NICE camper wants to give us a contract!"

    XD

  • @broadwaybaby561

Damn kinda embarrassed that I got that wrong. Must have been thinkin of something else >.<

    Oh and bass*

    :)

  • @Jmg1792 D'oh! Kinda embarrassed that I got THAT wrong. XP

  • its as if someone had a contest. make the best song u can called 'that thing u do' and this was the runner up! Love both songs and the movie!!!

  • I think this is the best song on the soundtrack album, even better than the "big hit". This song captures the jangly sixties type pop song sound so well. You could play this on an oldies station and folks probably wouldn't know the difference... LOL.

Better than the crap that passes for top 40 today for sure.

  • I actually like this song!!

  • Great song....to bad it was for a movie

  • Song (this particular one, not the main title song) underrated. Movie underrated.

    Thanks for posting!

  • If America had produced a fab 4 and the shoe would of been on the other foot...?

    This would of been them....

  • @izzynutz2000 you are do dead on right.

  • The Best

    /watch?v=TDlcDTcSbBM&list=WL

  • Yeah. That ONE person that disliked this song needs to Go HOME. -____-

  • A VERY under-rated movie!

  • some idiot doesnt like this song...

  • Where can I get anothers songs of real The Wonders ?

  • the group is real, the story isn't..

  • Hello, i got one question :D The Wonders was real rock group ? or unreal

  • The only "real" Wonders was in the movie. Guys from Fountains of Wayne and Candy Butcher recorded the songs for the movie.

  • Fred, I wanted you to know that Scott Rogness sang this song and co-wrote it with Rick Elias back in 1996. Rick Elias did all of the Guitar work on this song too. They also wrote 4 other songs for the "That Thing You Do" Movie Sound Track. They are: "Dance with Me Tonight"; "All My Only Dreams"; "She Knows It"; and "Drive Faster".

  • Scott Rogness also sang lead vocals on the other songs on the movie sound track which are: "Dance with Me Tonight"; "All My Only Dreams"; "She Knows It"; and "Drive Faster". Again, Scott Rogness is the one really singing lead vocals for this song, "I need You, (That Thing You Do)"

  • @fredthejunkman Fred, I wanted you to know that Scott Rogness sang this song and co-wrote it with Rick Elias back in 1996. Rick Elias did all of the Guitar work on this song too. They also wrote 4 other songs for the "That Thing You Do" Movie Sound Track. They are: "Dance with Me Tonight"; "All My Only Dreams"; "She Knows It"; and "Drive Faster".

  • Adam Schlesinger wrote the song, "That Thing You Do" and also the song, "Little Wild One" on the "That Thing You Do" movie sound track. However, Adam had his friend, Mike Viola, sing lead vocals on both of these songs. I thought everybody in the world should know the "real" musicians behind the movie!!!

  • @IndieRock505 entirely fictional.

  • i just listened to this covered by Andrew Kesler and his cover was so close to this! AND THEY WERE BOTH AWESOME!

  • Definitely my second fave song from the movie after the title track! <3

  • I LOVE THIS SONG. gahh. awesome movie.

  • actually the trick is to click to mpthreefy..com to grab this mp3.

  • love it!

  • i was on a harvest machine this morning, in northen california just singing this song over and over in my head.. just waiting to come home and listen to it....the wonders are great....viva mexico..

  • This song is by The Heardsmen. Jimmy's band after the Wonders. Great song!

  • T.B. Player = Greatest name we can think of

  • love this movie<3

    never gets old

  • Love this song. :))

  • Great song, great movie. Those 4 guys were cast so well together and Tom Hanks was the icing on the cake. Liv Tyler was as beautiful as she's ever going to be too. The movie took place in a special period in America's history that will never be recaptured.

  • @Ragnar06 Boy, you sure are right. I am so fortunate to having been a teenager during that period of time (okay, the Vietnam War may have been somewhat problematic): Rascals, Beach Boys, Supremes, Byrds, on and on . . . and of course, The Wonders. So glad I got to see them in concert. I think that Tom Petty and The Bangles were huge affecianados of that period. You can hear that style in some of their music.

  • Thanks for posting...best song of the film!

  • great song, i absolutely love that guy's face on the left, i don't remember what his name is tho.. dang.

  • @nat819oth Steve Zahn

  • very fricken nice

  • i had this cd but i heard it to much it didnt work anymore lol and johnathan ois sexy and had a great voice

  • @prettylatinachic1 ur crazy for giving it away. that;s like me and the forest gump sountrack. i had it and traded it in. it was a 2 disc set. watched it on tv not too long ago, and every song in that movie is amazing.

  • man...this is real best song of the movie!! so much better than "that thing you do"!!

  • oops-I meant we listened to KELP

  • we actually listened to KINT

  • .

''The song that plays during the film's opening credits, "Lovin' You Lots and Lots", is credited to the fictitious "Norm Wooster Singers" but was actually written by Hanks. This song is a good-natured parody of Ray Conniff, Mitch Miller, and other practitioners of proto-muzak''

  • "The soundtrack album (released under the Play-Tone name in conjunction with Epic Records) was also a hit, peaking at #21 on the Billboard Top 200. The CD artwork is a replica of the fictional Play-Tone label used in the movie, and the liner notes are done in a mockumentary style, as if the Wonders had been a real group and the events of the film had actually happened."

  • here is a quote from a web page about this group & movie-if you check out the youtube interview with tom hanks you will see that it is a work of fiction.

  • I was a teenager at the time the "wonders" were around and as far as I know, they didn't exist.

  • You weren't listening to right radio stations. You were probably listening to WABC and The Wonders, although from Pennsylvania, were more of a mid-western band and didn't get enough airplay east of Pittsburgh.

  • they didnt just fo this film :)

  • i love this movie and the music....

  • i have dvd too wonderfull

    すばらしー

  • OHHH this song is sweet..
