John Key is representing the interests of the wealthy, whatever he may say. And if it comes to environment vs. business interests, I know which one he will choose. Really, if you wanted to choose someone to help with environmental issues, National would be pretty far down on the list.
My point was not that I disagree with efforts to protect the environment, but that to get more people on board with us, holding up a picture of a baby and begging John Key to help probably isn't the best tactic.
I appreciate that you are trying to do something positive and that you care enough to do it. Now that we have a government that is largely insensitive to these issues, I'm not sure what to do.

Greenpeace really dropped the ball in NZ elections by encouraging people to put up "Environment before Politics" billboards rather than ecouraging people to vote for parties that are actually committed to policies which help the environment. This was seriously poor judgment. I love what Greenpeace does in and stands for in general, but this decision was sad and perplexing.

We are seen as a country falling behind the rest of the world.
Even the USA has pledged action now(alot more than us)
The number of tourists shocked to see our environmental record are huge.
