  • "we got caught a little bit..." lol a little bit? You had a full conversation with steve. Great video btw.

  • he looks like keith richards with that bandana

  • Great, another prick who has a DSLR and doesn't know how to focus it.

I wonder if these people have any idea how stale that look is now? Great job, you're boasting about not knowing how to use a camera properly.

  • Steve vai is just so freakin cool man

  • tank you!!!

  • A wizard at work, trying to come up with some new spells for his next grimoire.

    That man... actually is god!

  • he's jamming on van halen's eruption. well, he did play for diamond dave after van halen broke up, so I guess he knows all those songs anyway.

  • Steve is truly blessed. He seems to be at true peace with his instrument.

  • that guy is insane

  • Got it! Christian Bale. That's who he reminds me of.

Very important, I know, I know.

  • sounds like jedi master Vai had been listening to jedi master Van Halen that day!

  • we all know gods dont need to jam or practice.

  • I wish I could work for Vai, he seems like a genuinely cool guy.

  • thats an impressive sport. Dont think much of the music though.

  • andy is pretty creepy. hes like an over grown rentboy

  • His legato technique here is the smoothest ever!

    Just like Allan Holdsworth.

  • Hilarious to hear Steve say: "it needs some work"...like it's not already 100 times better than anyone else can do it!

  • Its amazing how someone as experienced as Steve Vai, is still learning new things all the time.

Just goes to show that music is really endless in the things you can learn.

  • @JoshFazzz just goes to show you that...SLASH is more of a drinker than musician LMAO

  • @tmh1717 I agree with drinking but slash can play dam good

  • i can always tell when vai is not playing the flo or evo...you know his main guitars...its just slightly different

  • Da fuhhhhk?! Let me get THIS job!

  • I love your hat Mr. Vai. You are a good sport. It's moments like this that capture your true peacefulness while in the creative stages. It is a true honor that you allow your fans to catch a slight glimpse of this :) Thank you

  • HOW THA HELL DOES THIS HAVE ONLY 9,144 VIEWS.?!?

  • steve vai is the master.

  • It looks like he's having private moments with his guitar ...a little bit like having sex you know...that's really amazing...

  • I can only imagine all the stuff you have on film and will never see the light of day.. I'm jealous as hell!! hahahaha.. Awesome though......

  • Hey man honestly! you've got a professional camera filming Steve Vai there why not give us some more resolution Please? Thanks

  • @leeanucha its in hd on steves channel

  • I bet steve told him to pretend to secretly film him.

  • @tlorg Yeah, I mean he's practically up in his face!

  • @tlorg Of course! Steve knows exactly what's happening. This man is in complete controll.

  • He's not big on picking a lot of consecutive notes is Stevie.

  • Steve was so cool about the whole thing.

  • What a cool job, I'd love to work for Steve Vai. :-)

  • You can find the official, unripped, uncrappy version of this vid here: /watch?v=LW9-vqqiRVs. Additionally, he's not making "new stuff up." He's recording "The Moon and I;" something he wrote a long time ago.

  • who is that kid?

  • Please tell Mr. Vai, if you may, that he is a huge inspiration on my musical philosophy and guitar playing. I pretty much find my self quoting myself when I write or make make music

  • love the yellow jem with the maple neck

  • Bro I cant tell you how cool that is... I met Steve in LA in 1986 when I went to GIT... I stopped playing for 18 years..... and just started to play a while ago because I saw a clip of steve accidentally .... he was the one of the only guitarists that made me feel it was ok to not do what everyone else was doing.. please pass on my kindest regards and Let Steve know his energy has rippled through time.
