  • This makes me tear up.... holy fck

  • @almostaflippinskater

they are what they were against....hence the name of the band..."against me!" ..lol

  • Tom is the anarchist!! In a bad way. He was once influenctial in young athusiastic america. Now he's a sellout looking to make money. I only say this because his stance on reality sucks ass!! He once saw america as it was but now, money has made him back track on his beliefs because he wants to be in the elite and not in the majority that he now attempts to keep preaching with. Please Tom. It's not over. Come back to US!

  • @thegreenclover1 where the fuck do you get the balls to tell him what he still does or doesnt believe like go fuck yourself you dont know him youve never talked to him you say all this bullshit just because the bands sound changed thats there own fucking decision so shut the fuck up you dont know him stop acting like you do

  • Practice what you preach Tom Gabel. I've met him repeatedly at shows and he always seems to hate meeting the fans - barely wants to talk and has a greater than thou attitude. James and Andrew are great, Warren was amazing, but Tom consistently disappoints.

  • @mandyaldercotte there's this guy named Iggy Pop. Onstage, he's the most narcissistic fucker ever to walk the planet. off stage, he's the most humble guy ever. People change when they're on stage and when they're off. When people are on stage, they have power. they act like they don't like the fans, i don't know why, but they do. Off stage, they can be very mild mannered and love their fans. I think Tom does love his fans. His on stage persona just differs on and off stage.

  • i likedd him yesterday hes so damn COOL

  • Tom describes my fan experience perfectly. I felt a gut-level connection with the music the first time I heard Thrash Unreal. (Yes, I'm a latecomer.) This summer I went to a show even though I'm not a kid...I'm a 40-something suburban hockey mom with an MBA. Looking way out of place, I made my far up front, sang loudly and badly, to the old and the new stuff. Brilliant!

  • @sher1114 This was perfect. No matter if you're new or old you should feel at home :)

  • @jonisafreak3 he has a lot more emotion and complexity now, his old stuff said to just burn it all which isn't exactly an ideal political decision. Don't get me wrong, reinventing axl rose is an amazing album, and I love ALL against me! but seriously, new wave for the win

  • @jonisafreak3 seriously. stop hating things. its a waste of time.

  • Well said Tom. This is explained in Reinventing Axl Rose. I did an english project on the song and the entire class stared/glared at me confused after i played it. I HATE PEOPLE.

  • this man is my hero.

  • Oh my gosh I am so straight for him.

  • why'd you have to go and sell out man.

  • @Minerva5320 how is getting some recognition selling out.

  • @DJSoyBoy

getting recognition is NOT selling out. I've been a fan of Rise Against since their Fat Wreck years and I don't think they sold out. Ppl are saying that Against Me! sold out because they've changed their ENTIRE political views and are going back on everything they protested against before. Unlike Rise Against who still have the same political and sociopolitical views, Against Me! are now the people they once wrote songs against.

  • I'm not even into the punk scene. This guy already kicks ass.

  • DIE.

  • I agree with this mostly, but the last concert I was in there were a few assholes behind me that took some enjoyability away from the concert.

  • AM! shows are different because of the mutaul respect and care the fans give for each other and the band. Tom gives water to the crowd just like he does his band mates. I've been in the pit and we all passed the water bottle to each other. Nobody hoarded or tried to make it a souvenir. We are there for the like mindedness and sense of belonging

  • It's also like they are believable people. They are real. Other bands are on a pedastal, but these guys, I just feel like I know them

  • part one of an eight part series? gonna be a really short series, hah.

  • I met Tom like 4 or 5 years ago after their set and he was extremely friendly and we had a great conversation for most of the night. Then he was kind enough to take me to the merch booth and give me one of everything I wanted. I've loved this band since.

  • fix your hoodie strings

  • @Laggy2000 Fix your attitude.

  • @Kritaose That's a running joke with a few co -workers interesting. That I said that 1 year ago abd you're saying that now hehe weird.

  • yea i have a poster of him above my bed. i was looking at it while i was fucking my girlfriend... thats not weird right?

  • @EssoSteve

    Oh no....not at all....

  • ps WHERE IS THE REST OF THIS INTERVIEW??

  • Every time anyone has asked me why I'm so ridiculous for AM!, I've tried to say that.... and failed. Tom just won at it in 64 seconds.

  • punxpunxpunx. see you friday, big guy

  • The black and white-ness reminds me of night vision. O_O

Ahhh I wish AM! Were playing near me this year :/

  • we love youuuuuuuu

  • I'm so gay for him.

  • @MilitaryFreeZAch you and me both

  • @MilitaryFreeZAch I know exactly what you mean.

  • i cant help but smile to myself like a dork when i see this man..

  • that's is why i go and i hope the connection goes both ways

  • My one true love!

  • Hooray!
