  • RIP mcrimmon

  • Proof that Bruins don't bleed

  • Both landed good punches here, NARROW WIN Jonathan for bloodying poor Stewart.

  • must of bin all that cornbread and steaks! wa:hi stan?

  • must of bin all that cornbread and steaks! wa:hi stan?

  • Goulet did a good fight but the best part is that he was a top sniper

he could score as most fighters are only good to patrol

  • Stan Jonathon may have been small, but he was a tough little fucker. And I mean that in the best of ways.

  • It's because guys these days don't want to get hit and keep there head down so they punch helmets not face. Guys back then had more pride in a fight if you were getting your head kicked they wouldn't turtle they would take it.

  • It seemed like guys bled more back then. You don't see it hardly at all today and the guys hit harder.

  • Stewart fought Jonathan, O'Reilly, and Wensink all in the same night but still became an NHL ref - God Bless Hockey! Loved Stewart when he was a Cincinnati Stinger

  • @woxyroxme Not Wensink , Secord.

  • man, you are right, hockey has gotten too technical. The suits finalize deals and families attend for some g-rated fun, hiding their kid's eyes when the fights start. The jerseys don't flow, teams can't, by rule, intimidate or send a message and tie games end with the hockey equivalent of an extra point kicking contest.

Man I will always have an affection for hockey but now it's just an older mistress who can relate and not the love of my life.

  • BULLSHIT! PAUL STEWART WON FO SHO

  • @whatevergetoff420

no way jonathon beat the living shit outta him and left him standing there speechless

  • Very good scrap, i liked.

Jonatah landed more so he is NARROW WINNer.

  • thats my uncle hes the best

  • Goulet: Just the kind of guy Mcrimmon would pick a fight with

  • Stewart became a good referee. He'd let the tough guys fight

  • Jonathan was one of the toughest players to ever play the game.

  • old tyme hockey right there

  • stan knew how to use his dukes on skates, he was skilled boxer

  • Jason is my coach at a hockey camp so i looked him up hes a beast!!!!!!!

  • Paul Stewart will be referee as well in Kahnawake.Lineup includes,Oreilly,Middleton,Bourque,Sweeney,Park,Nilan,Brinkley,Byers,Smith,Doak,Linseman,Miller and several others. They are playing for a Charity game over here, and Reggie Leach and Bryan Trottier are coming down as well just to add to the fun.Gerry Cheevers has volunteered to be the Head Coach for the Bruins.Should be a lot of fun!! Autographs, pictures, meet and greet.Come on down.

  • johnathan will be in action on Oct.24.2009 in Kahnawake,10 minutes outside of Montreal.come see him play with Oreilly, middleton, bourque, park and cheevers as well as 10 other bruins greats.

  • I played against Stewie and beat him at our Rangers Rookie camp back in 1977.

On the other hand Stan J was a monster for his size, like a pit bull who never stopped.

  • Would have loved to see Jonathan vs. Domi. Flip a coin

  • Jonathan was such a little guy, but was he ever hard nosed. Pound for pound the best NHL fighter. Hands of stone. He always bloodied his opponent. As for Stewart, he was a wannabe. The guy was willing, but hardly ever won a fight. Probably why he became a ref. Better ref than fighter.

  • haha hes my uncle, hes grown.. but hes grown around the middle ahhaha !

  • no doubt, stan johnathan if not the best, is one of the best hockey fighters of all time

  • no doubt, Johnathan was a great fighter.

  • @diviamush wrong

  • @davmac123456789

I'm wrong for saying Jonathan was a great fighter? come on man be honest with yourself. he was a middleweight if that, and took on all the heavyweights of his time and beat most of them

  • Gotta love Stan Jonathon... one to S.O.B.

  • Jonathan was a tough little mother.

  • I think the fighting back in those days was better than it is now. It's gotten too technical these days, guys worrying too much about getting hit instead of trying to hit the other guy. Back then it was grab the other guy's sweater and flail away until someone is getting absolutely pummeled or they get tired out.

  • @medaman69 Good point. Also, we don't see much of the secondary fights anymore. Just two guys "squaring up" after the face off. Still, that's better than nothing! I like watching these old school fights.

  • @medaman69 that old school north american hockey was way better to watch then this siisy european olympic style hockey they turned it into... trying to attract the business crowd...

  • i thought he retired as a ref

  • Yeah, he retired a few seasons ago after his return from battling cancer. Great guy and ambassador for hockey.

  • This is the same Paul Stewart who's one of the top referees in the NHL now... wondering if this is a preseason game as there's a few players on the Nords without names on their jerseys...

  • It is the same Paul Stewart, but Stewart retired from being an NHL referee a few years ago. He is now the ECACHL head of officiating (US College Hockey). I had a chance to meet Paul Stewart last year @ the NCAA East Regional tournament. Great guy to chat hockey with...

  • when i lived in colorado, my best friends older brother used to be friends with michel goulet's son and i met him once and he was fucken massive.

  • You can see a modern day resemblance in fighting styles and balance between Jordin Tootoo and Stan Jonathan. Both are shorter than their opponents , very tough and native...although Jonathan could score goals and didnt have a reputation as a dirty player.

  • daytonbomber, you are so right .jonathan would beat up your toughest player then score 20 goals a year.imho. he was the great one

  • prophecy; this year, 08-09 finals Vancouver and New jersey

  • nice video

  • bruins ourson

  • siffleux= criss de fif

  • Watched the great Stan Jonathan play his rookie season in the IHL with the Dayton Gems, and pound for pound, he was best brawler in the league legend for scrappers. Stan, an Indian off the Six Nations reservataion, gave up inches and pounds to everybody he dropped gloves with. But from Blake Ball to Willy Trognitz, he never backed down. And unlike the traditional goon, he could put the puck in the net with the best of them. Live forever, Stan J......

  • Aaaah...two legendary brawlers in Blake Ball and WILD Willie. What a time to be a hockey fan.

  • @Daytonbomber damn straight hes from six nations long ive the rez

  • @Daytonbomber

I could not agree more! Stan took on anyone, he could throw with both hands with the best of them.

  • Bullshit, my name is Paul Stewart, Stan blows.

  • Stan Jonathan was the exclamation, of the Big Bad Bruins!

Bring back Stan Jonathan and Terry O'Reilly! We need men like tham back on the Bruins!

  • I'll trade you some sticks, pucks, tape , and some used jock straps for JOE THORNTON and RAY BOURQUE . Duh, ok......lolololol..ahahahahahahaha. The Bruins are hopeless. GO HABS GO. The Bruins, 1972 and counting.

  • Yeah Smartass? Well I'll tell you what, I'll take Stan Jonathan, Terry O'Reilly and Bobby Orr over your Pussies, Pierre Bouchard, Lupien, and Doug Risebrough ANY FUCKING DAY OF THE WEEK.

Even though we didn't win the Cup from You Guys, still, we kicked your Canadienne Asses in more ways than one, besides the Scoreboard!

We'll be back, and we're going to kick your Asses back to Montreal, the city that can not hold a Baseball Team.

WHAT TIME IS TEE OFF???? FORE YOU LOSERS IN RACIST BEANTOWN. YOUR BASEBALL TEAM TOOK 86 YEARS TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP, did all you idiots finally put your Yankee jerseys away? back in your closet with your golf clubs asshole

  • took us 86 years to win a championship and now weve taken 2 in 4 years and are on track to win another. patriots dynasty, celtics in the conference finals. By the way, how are those expos doing?

  • who cares about the expos. I was never a fan. two world series in 86 years and all you idiots in Boston came out of your closets. DID YOU TAKE OFF YOUR YANKEES JERSEY??? SPYGATE...LOSING THE SUPERBOWL IS EMABARASSING ENOUGH ...shhhhhhh...they went undefeated but lost to the giants. what a grab by DAVID TYREE. 18-1* , don't forget the asterisk. LMAO

  • if you dont care about the expos then why the fuck are you even talking about baseball at all you stupid canadien prick. at least we have a fuckin team that by the way wins championships. unlike other teams that have to sell their players because an average of 11 fans show up every night. go drench yourself in your french faggot cum you piece of shit. by the way, fuck marshal faulk and the rams. barry sanders was 10 times better.

  • wins championships??? LOL...two world series in 90 years??? lmao. How many have the Yankees won since then? Go drink something before you get the shakes you piece of shit. Faulk could block, catch passes, and run better than Sanders. 1000, and 1000, in the same season. League MVP, and Super Bowl cahmp. Better resume than Sanders you fucking clown.

  • barry sanders quit years before he had to and was going to easily break every rushing record known to the nfl. and he didnt do it with an incredible line like the rams. also, the rams had kurt warner to make the rushing game easier. who the fuck did the lions have as their quarterback at that time? how the hell can you justify that all boston sports sucks on that we hadnt won a world series for 86 years. you can have the last word on this one beacuse no matter what you say, you have no point.

  • My father was an ironworker with Stan back in the day! Said he was a tough one! Maybe thats why he named me Jonathan after destroying Bouchard!

  • Well you know what? I am currently in communication with Stan Jonathan's Niece. And she is a very nice Young Lady to communicate with.

I just hope that the day would come that not only would I get to meet her, or that I would get to meet Stan Jonathan, himself.

  • I dad hunted with stan and he said he was such an awesome fighter because he could hit hard with his right and left thats so awesome

  • nice one stan!

    paul stewart became a referee?

  • pound for pound the toughest guy/fighter i ever saw, Stan Jonathan!! i LOVED that guy!!

  • Everyone is bigger that Stan...but yet, they can't beat him! Long live the legend of #17.

  • ahhahaha

    way to go uncle stan!!!
