She's no Amy Lee, HOWEVER she can sing. People say they copy evanescence ( my favorite band), but you have to remember Ben Moody was a co-founder of evanescence. So that sound is every bit of his as it is Amy's.

I love the new evanescence album and we are the fallen and Carly's voice. She's amazing and different from amy lee...and you have to admitt that she sounds a lot more better live.
Of course both bands play the same kind of music, but that's not surprising since Ben Moody wrote most of the first evanescence album and this basically IS Evanescence. How can a songwriter cover himself?? I think no one is covering from anyone here, they just all do what they like to do and it works on both sides.

Not really. Actually that's why bands don't last much, because they ripp off theirselves, repeate theirselves until every song sounds the same. One thing is to keep a certain style, another is to start a "new" band hiring a woman who looks and sings like the singer of your previous band, and make music you can hardly distinct from your previous work. So yes, he has ripped off himself.

Yeah I know that Ben helped write Evanescence tunes so in essence it's his style but IMHO it's just away too similar. They're good, tight and have good sound but for me it's just too similar. He should have taken it in a different direction. Carly is a good singer but it's too much like Amy for me to enjoy. Just my opinion.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Amy Lee isn't in this band. Each of the band members (except Carly) split with the band then formed this one. Also, evanescence is still a band, making a new album with new band members. These people don't really like Amy Lee.

@TaintedStardom They didn't split with the Evanescence band, they were kicked out of it by Amy Lee. She had this swollen head attitude about herself so she kicked everyone out and decided she'd be the only original member left but still call it Evanescence.

First off I think Carly sounds great live but to say Amy lee sounds bad live is an exaggeration . Yes Amy lee does not sounds perfect live but she sounds pretty damn good for someone who is running around stage, and anyone who has ever done anything that requires physical movement while singing knows how hard it is. Carly hardly moves at all she can't possibly run out of breathe and if you are a true Evanescence fan you know that Amy has some impeccable live performances. Running and all.

We Are The Fallen are absolutely wonderful..when they sing songs crafted for their own vocalist. You cannot hope to replicate the vocals of a song that are made for a different vocalist...especially one with as unique of a voice as Amy Lee.
WATF brings this comparison on however by choosing to sing songs that Moody has the right to use. Short version: sing music crafted for the current people in the band, don't reuse old songs crafted for different band members.

Yes, Moody was the father of Evanescence and greatly shaped the direction of their music, however, they have existed and been successful for a large duration of time since Moody has been gone.

Honestly....ben moody is trying to experiment with the same sound he used in evanescence but he truly failed in epic porportions. he'll never be able to make a more successful band than evanescence. in all reality...this band sucks.
This is an excellent album.... Carly has a superb voice.... this is 2010.... almost 2011... Fallen was released in 2003.... Move on people.... Amy & Ben have.... Wait & see what the new Evanescence album brings....

@ahonen111 I disagree. If you take into the fact, Amy headbangs and runs around during a performance, she gets winded. Try that once. Carly is stationary nearly the whole performance, taking time to choke out the notes. Even after all i've said you still think the singing Carly produces is better, search up Evanescence: Live and Intimate. THAT will prove it, no doubt. I'm not saying Carly can't sing. It's clear she is an AMAZING singer, since she started her career on live performances. But...

i am a HUGE fan of evanescence, and amylee. but i also love we are the fallen and carly, if you like evanescence and you think we are the fallen sounds just like them and you say you hate them then you are saying you hate evanescence as well, carly has amazing vocals.. not the same range as amy lee but she is still amazing.... people just need to get over themselves.

They're from the fallen CD......... Do you know why they stopped? Because Carly had it with what people said and found out the band was just trying to out throw amy... Which pissed her off.

@xFallenAngeletteX Honestly, I think Amy Lee is losing the spark she once had. I LOVE Evanescence they have been my favorite band for a very long time, but ever since the replacement of the band members, they just are not the same. You can't just keep an amazing voice, and just.....pick some random guys and expect greatness. Amy lee is very talented, and a very strong person. But.....Evanescence is NOTHING like they use to be. We are the fallen is fresh, and new, and they have great chemistry.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Amy Lee isn't in this band. Each of the band members (except Carly) split with the band then formed this one. Also, evanescence is still a band, making a new album with new band members. These people don't really like Amy Lee.

@TaintedStardom They didn't split with the Evanescence band, they were kicked out of it by Amy Lee. She had this swollen head attitude about herself so she kicked everyone out and decided she'd be the only original member left but still call it Evanescence.

First off I think Carly sounds great live but to say Amy lee sounds bad live is an exaggeration . Yes Amy lee does not sounds perfect live but she sounds pretty damn good for someone who is running around stage, and anyone who has ever done anything that requires physical movement while singing knows how hard it is. Carly hardly moves at all she can't possibly run out of breathe and if you are a true Evanescence fan you know that Amy has some impeccable live performances. Running and all.

@MasakoXer He said something along the lines of Amy being a bitch and always trying to control every aspect of the band. Like if he wrote a guitar part, she would pick it apart and make him change it to something that she liked better as opposed to what would have worked.

I don't like Carly... honestly, to me it looks like she's trying to copy Amy, but this is just my opinion... I'm quite impressed by her voice though, it's pretty strong^^ But I still prefere Amy... dunno maybe it's just me but I miss her and her incredible voice... so come back to us soon Amy and show that you're better than this!!! xD

We Are The Fallen are absolutely wonderful..when they sing songs crafted for their own vocalist. You cannot hope to replicate the vocals of a song that are made for a different vocalist...especially one with as unique of a voice as Amy Lee.
WATF brings this comparison on however by choosing to sing songs that Moody has the right to use. Short version: sing music crafted for the current people in the band, don't reuse old songs crafted for different band members.

@smooncenko You cannot argue that Evanescence is an imitation..an imitation of what? To be an imitation, one must come before the original. Yes, Moody was the father of Evanescence and greatly shaped the direction of their music, however, they have existed and been successful for a large duration of time since Moody has been gone.

@smooncenko Also, as a side note, Evanescence did not "take the style of Ben Moody." He influenced Amy Lee and others as much as Amy Lee influenced him musically in the beginning. Also, one could argue it would be impossible to take something which was permanently given to a person. How could they "return " the style of Moody? If they cannot, it is impossible to be stolen.

@smooncenko We are the fallen are just copycats with few decent songs but everything heared and done before. Carly is a wannabe, don't care about here voice. Evanescence is and always will be there Amy Lee is. And then Evanescence will release their new album nobody will remember who the f.. is we are the fallen. Then they better do some more covers of new Evanescence songs, Carly dress, look and act like Amy Lee even more.

Honestly....ben moody is trying to experiment with the same sound he used in evanescence but he truly failed in epic porportions. he'll never be able to make a more successful band than evanescence. in all reality...this band sucks.

This is an excellent album.... Carly has a superb voice.... this is 2010.... almost 2011... Fallen was released in 2003.... Move on people.... Amy & Ben have.... Wait & see what the new Evanescence album brings....

@ahonen111 I disagree. If you take into the fact, Amy headbangs and runs around during a performance, she gets winded. Try that once. Carly is stationary nearly the whole performance, taking time to choke out the notes. Even after all i've said you still think the singing Carly produces is better, search up Evanescence: Live and Intimate. THAT will prove it, no doubt. I'm not saying Carly can't sing. It's clear she is an AMAZING singer, since she started her career on live performances. But...
