  • holy shit, Cory, Stacey and Dewes, awesome!

  • Ahhh, the old days.

  • I don't know if I like these guys or not, but they look ridiculous...

  • FUCK 12 PPL go listen to gutless shit

  • breakdowns can be cool (if used sparingly). but it's hard to beat the continual relentlessness of something like coalesce

  • damn I want to one of those fans must have been intense, especially the deep driving bass

  • whoa, this sucks

  • @dvjew Clearly you don't know a thing about hardcore.

  • @Tremuoso yea dvjew , keep listening to alexisonfire , or whatever gay trendy shit that makes you wear your girlfriend's jean and sport a douchehawk , THIS IS REAL HARDCORE, AND IT NOT FOR THE TRENDY OR THE WEAK!!!!!!!

  • @dvjew fuck off noob.

  • I mean its just my opinion cuz i see alot of people trying to put bands like this in a genre so i would say metal core but the first wave the good wave with bands like dead guy, converge, today is the day, jesuit, botch, shai hulud, ringworm, integrity, and bloodlet. None of them sounded the same really but it is metalic hardcore for what its worth now a days people thing all bands have to sound the same to be in a genre.

  • I like this band, not trying to make fun of them, but at 0:46, he literally looked retarded XD

  • wow rob thomas can scream

  • am i mistaken or is that actually james on drums there?...either way these guys are fucking timeless....their newest album is still so good....

  • i miss fucking earth crisis' firestorm

  • i guess you could call this hardcore if you wanna thrash on it. i hear more metal thank punk.but what do i know. the bar code on their vinyls say metal.. then crossed out with hardcore under it. i dont give a fuck what you call it. these guys shred harder than whitechapel, and the acacia strain and todays new breed of shit "metalcore"

  • @kux0 They were one of the original 'mealcore" bands, let's kleave it at that.

  • Comment removed

  • They make a fucking great noise, no need for labels just enjoy! :)

  • i miss the old hardcore where it was without a breakdown after a breakdown which then transitions into a breakdown

  • @tylerarnold1234 then to a two-step...and then what do you know? back into a breakdown!! i miss REAL hardcore

  • oh and dont forget they have to go into some auto-tuned chorus part. then they might mix it up with a breakdown.

  • @tylerarnold1234 yeah just so they can retain their pop punk roots. and to bang scene chicks.

  • theres still some bands out there that matter like Engineer, Achilles and The_Network

  • oh yeah there are some good hardcore bands still but todays so called hardcore is cookie cutter.

  • yeah, unfortunately i can't argue with that. as much as these breakdown bands bore me, its these rock n roll hardcore bands that really piis me off! WTF is that all about?

  • @tylerarnold1234 i miss the old hdc where there wern't breakdowns

  • I love this song. Inspires much of my guitar work.

If you guys did these guys, check out this hardcore band from my town. They're called Opponents, and they're pretty intense.

And no....they are not breakdown infested :)

  • is james dewees doing drums at this time?

  • @trevor653 accourding to wikipedia James entered this band in 94 as vocalist but did`t made it, then a year after he got in as a drummer, then started to colaborate and eventually gettin in the get up kids in 97 - 98 by this time i think he was no longer part of Coalesce

  • sweet thanks bro. i knew he was in both bands, and they're two of my favorite all time bands. i just didn't know when he joined either.

  • this vocalist sounds like epic piece of shit, and guitarist is a fucking dope friend o.O

  • dude, its coalesce, you can't talk shit.

  • srsly ; i don't care what it is :D it's biggest piece of shit i've heard

  • fucking awesome. love how Jes gets launched back into the crowd :)

  • that's not Jes, but a guy from Wormwood.

  • shit where was he? i thought it didn't look like him but...

  • he quit during the recording of "012" and Coalesce toured with Cory White of Wormwood instead of him. I know he spoke to Relapse before the album release claiming they must erase his name from the album sleeve. the recording and rehearsing for 012 was a serious nervous breakdown for him.

  • still broken?

  • who are those 2 muppets at the beginning?

  • Guitarist and either drummer or bassist for Death Cab for Cutie...

  • oh right thanks. never liked that band...

  • There's such good music in Michigan.

  • love this band. singer's voice is fuckin sweet.

  • This band is amazing and they've been doing it for so long.Groundbreaking, honest original music.

  • I bought their cd in 2000 because some of the members of the casket lottery are in this band and I was a big fan of the casket lottery, I was surprised how they sounded. Nothing like the casket lottery but it is still badass.

  • these guys changed hxc.....they are legends.

  • What?

  • Maybe I'm crazy, but I love coalesce and I love death cab for cutie.

fuck me for being musically open minded though, right?

plus, coalesce is from my hometown-so they are even more badass.

  • Yeah, you like underground and mainstream! Awesome! Nothing wrong with being half-assed at all!

  • lol, ya, if you wanna fit in at high school then you gotta be comitted to one side or the other.

LOL grow up kid....oh wait...you're 30, how sad!

  • The guitarplayer looks like Steve-O of the Jackass-Crew in this video. Harhaaraaaaaarr.

  • love these guysand their new cd kicks ass

  • Yeah, they're a far better band, especially if you like bland indie rock bullshit.

  • Death Cab for Cutie sucks.

  • yeah it's chris walla and nick harmer who are 10000 millions times better than this band or the bands that followed (get up kids, reggie etc)

  • hahahahaha, this is funny.

im sorry i like death cab for cutie, but reggie and the full effect kicks their ass any day.

    =]

  • reggie and the full effect are a joke band, i thought that was why they toured with yet another joke band called new found glory but then i found out nfg actually think they are 'talented musicians'

  • ha your a joke but ok.

    watever you say man.

    i love RATFE.

  • the only joke is new found glory and james dewees get up kids were better without him.

  • im not into new found glory so i dont have anything to say to that but if you honestly think get up kids are good then you're crazy man, james dewees' voice is amazing and its sad he doesnt sing for tguk. so i agree, i wish he would leave get up kids and do more with ratfe.

  • the guitarist isn't even playing. Look when he gets thrown into the crowd. He takes his hand off but yet the guitar sound is still going.

  • Feedback.

  • Not just feedback.

  • love this

  • saw them live yesterday....and tbfh..... EVERY OTHER BAND should bow down to these guys....

  • Can't wait for the new album!

  • its fucking awesome!

  • Agreed! Best album of the year so far IMO.

  • sean ingram has an awesome screen printing company called blue collar press. they print my shirts!

  • godDAMN I love this band.

  • These guys are hard as nails.

  • coalesce makes me take my pants off.

  • i just took mine off reading your comment

  • I just noticed that the guys talking at the beginning are the bass player and guitar player from Death Cab. But yeah, Coalesce is the shit.

  • Quite possibly the most brutal video Ive ever seen.

  • This band<3 I'm so glad Sean helped with The Used song "Sound Effects And Over Dramatics". WOuldn't be the same without him

  • mmmmm..... <3 coalesce.

  • wait i didnt know josh scogin was in this band, no wait, its sean ingram

  • I'm trying to get the drummer from my grungy garage band to learn a bit of math...

  • saw these guys last august, shit was intense. just listening to this guy gives me a sore throat

  • not him, it's inhales.

  • HAHAHAHAAHHH BULLSHIT

  • not bullshit. he doesn't 'project' or just 'scream from the gut', they're total inhales and they're super obvious.

  • wrong. just saw this live. you're wrong.

  • LOL seeing it live makes them not inhales?

  • it gives you a lot better idea than watching a video. But if you do want to refer to this video, then go ahead; @ 1:22 and 1:27. Two shots of him obviously taking in air BEFORE he sings. It sounds like his vocal are inhales, but it's not.

  • Bloodiest show I've ever witnessed...Blood fuckin everywhere after that act.

  • Flawless.

  • Fucking. Behold.

Nothing can brutalize with as much efficiency and conviction. They don't try, they just are....

  • james dewees is god.

  • Dude I saw Sean Ingram on an episode of The Peoples Court and he won. LOL

  • he lost

  • I could have sworn that he won. I obviously wasn't paying attention.lol

  • these guys have such a weird stage presence. good, but weird. hunchback guitarist body surfing, the frontman never takes the mike out of the stand, lol, i love these guys!

  • Hell fuckin' yeah. Sean Ingrams the fuckin' man. Coalesce. Best Hardcore band period.

  • why is that all the members in this band dont face the audience when they play...

  • Rocking this hard takes focus, my brotha.

  • Man, what a great live band.

  • NO, this is the other guy that replaced Jes Steineger after he quit. He's now back in the band, though.

  • the dvd is great, not just ISIS and Coalesce! Sweep the Leg Johnny's performance is mind blowing too! fact. all of it is great.

  • coalesce and isis are the only reasons i bought this dvd.

  • Sean Ingram kind of looks like Layne Staley.

  • steve o aahahah

  • 1:48.

Is that the douch bag lead singer of Fall Out Boy in the trucker hat and red shirt?

    Hah

  • zomg, they've got steve-o on guitar! :P

  • God, I love this band.

  • Does anybody know what this song is called?

  • A DISGUST FOR DETAILS from FUNCTIONING ON IMPATIENCE.

  • coalesce, and isis were the only reason i went to mi fest '02 and as you can tell it was quite insane.

  • coalesce and isis are the only reason most underground hardcore bands are in existence right now.

  • Unfortunately.

  • too bad these fuckers never made it to germany.

  • holy fucking shit.

  • sweet I never got the chance to see these guys. It made my day

  • Wow powerful live performance!
