That's true. However, some people that have a lot of defense will probably not die from this combo. But generally, the LDM is optional, yes.

WTF? Doesn't Maxima have game-highest health?
Shion and Magaki, maybe, but bosses are bitches to kill and therefore don't count (xD).

I know what you mean, and the answer is yes. However, there are always random values inserted into every hit, so that there may be some times when you are not able to deal 100% on the same character with the same combo.

I'm sorry but are you even playing KOF XI? You loose gauge on the very first hit. Try it with the first character you fight and look at his guage when you do maxima's jumping C and you'll see that they lose it.

Actually, they lose stun gauge on EVERY hit, from the very first one.

Yes he can be stunned. Maxima and Gai can be stunned and they have the highest stun gauges in the game (excluding Shion and Magaki). Either way, if the rival is stunned before, this will do 100% regardless. I've tested this many times.
If you're trying this combo yourself, make sure you didn't just stun him and try again, since there's a certain time limit between stunning so there can't be an infinite combo.
