After 25 years using Gillette, I tried alternative products, but was disapointed. At the end I tried Hydro 5 and that was the best shave ever!! I'm so amazed with this blade! Haven't tried Proglide, my last Gillette was Power Fusion, but I will stay with Hydro 5.
I just got a Gillette Fusion Proglide yesterday. It is an amazing shave! Way better than the disposable razors I was using before.. I like the proglide handle to, really ergonomic, had actual metal in it to, feels of great quality. I will see how long one cartridge lasts me. I also have a Bic razor that came with 5 extra cartridges, it is good. Not as good as the proglide, but it is decent.
everyone take note this guy is talking sense the best razor ive used the pro glide razor gave a dragging sensation and felf painfull so i switched. BEST decision ive made :)
@supadupaenergy I use Edge shaving gel, but based on all the comments I receive here, I'll be switching to a DE safety razor soon with real shaving cream/brush. I have pretty thick hair and an especially thick beard. Keeping well-shaven is no easy task for me. :)
@SteffenTSmith i used a DE for 6 months after you learn the technique and use a old fashioned shave cream its definately better, But i dont have the time anymore to use the DEs hydro 5 is the best cart razor
I've been using the Gillette Fusion for a couple of years. But, I have been trying out the Hydro 5 for the past 3 weeks. I'm going back to the Gillette Fusion. The Fusion gives a much much smoother shave than the hydro 5 does. In fact after shaving with the hydro 5 this morning (only 6 shaves on it) I picked up my Gillette Fusion (at least 15 shaves on it) and shaved again. Even with the older Fusion I still got a much smoother shave with it.
Try to dismantle the blue guard of the Fusion (goes very easy) and you will shave a little more closer because the foam now won't stick into those rubber trips. Try & Feel !!
I have just recently discovered the Hydro 5 and was extremely surprised and impressed by the shave. I have only used Gillette blades my whole life and always thought they were superior. I now have a new opinion. Great review by the way!
I Disagree, yeah the Schick improved the lubricant strip + mechanism but what awful blades they used. I've got pretty thick hairs and with every haul it feels like it can release every second and you hear it thickle. So for me the Gillette shaves more dense but the strip wears of too fast and so more expensive
the shick hydro 5 is simply the best..i also shave my head and facial hair and find the hydro to give a very comfortable shave and ive got 0 yes 0 cuts since switching to hydro 5..i could even shave in the shower without a mirror and not worry about nicks and cuts.
I have to agree with your final decision, i have used the fusion for a long time now and just recently i have used the Shick 5 from these free samples i got. Never going back to fusion, I do wish they had one of those vibrating handles for it.

I got a free coupon for a Hydro 5 in the mail (it was good up to $11). So I decided to get the Hydro 5 Blast instead because it was still under the limit. Not sure the difference, but what I do know is that its painless and easy. Only razer I've used but I love it :)
I finally tried the Hydro 5, and it has got to be the greatest razor of all time. it costs less, gives an amazing shave, and one cartridge lasts forever. no joke, mach 3 blades would do my face for about ten days, then start to cut me to ribbons after about 2 weeks. well, ONE hydro 5 cartridge has been shaving my face and my head for two months now, and it's still going strong!
Nice video EEaudio09 I'm a DE, shaver but schick hydro 5, is the best cartridge razor out there, I've shaved 8 times with the same cart. and the quality is quite good, there is less aloe vera but the five blades are still very sharp. I'm waiting for trying the proglide soon.
@ibralc I've used them all, and I can tell you that you're using the right one. The Hydro 5 is a fantastic razor. As long as you apply your shave cream/gel properly, you'll get a fantastic shave with it.

The Hydro 5 is better than the Proglide IMO, it last a lot more than Proglide and cost a lot less.

I have to agree with your final decision, i have used the fusion for a long time now and just recently i have used the Shick 5 from these free samples i got. Never going back to fusion, I do wish they had one of those vibrating handles for it.
