ive been to alot of shows.. 3 years later i still say this was by far the best concert i have ever been to ever. unless you were actually there, its impossible to imagine what it was like when he walked out.. 3 days later i still had no voice
I was recently asked, "What was the best concert you ever attended?" Gotta say.. this was it. Best talent on tap for 7/18/08: Billy, Roger Daltrey, Garth Brooks, Steve Tyler, Tony Bennett, and holy cow... Sir Paul McCartney. Had the time of my life..It took two hours to get on the subway. Thanks Godzillo for not getting mad at me when I told you to "sit down & get outta my way.".. These are precious memories... never to be forgotten.. Missing Shea Stadium and Flushing, Queens.
I just saw Sir Paul for the 1st time in San Francisco back in July. Amazing show. I wish I was at this show, but I read online that the DVD of the concert documentary will be out in february, and a dvd/blu ray of the actual concerts will be out in March.
Rumor has it this was soooo last minute that Paul, on his way to Canada for a concert, stopped by. His plane landed and he had to be rushed to Shea. So the opening "wtf" kind of thing was Billy not exactly sure Paul was there, and it was determined that he was. Paul got his bass loaded, and Billy started the song. If this is true, epic. :)
See? Now this actually excites me! A great Beatle tune (as opposed to that "Let It Be" crap) and McCartney & Joel on the same stage! The two best popmeisters alive today! Why are they not touring together? I never go anywhere, never pay anything for anything, and I would go (almost) anywhere and pay (almost) anything to see that! Having Ringo on drums (or at least as one of the drummers) wouldn't hurt; Clapton on guitar would be a definite plus.
Ya im waiting for those too there having a two year tour and they will come to NYC its a given but you know there gonna tell you like a week before they sell
Well, I don't think your incredibly tight ass is going to be squeezing out any cash soon, and it won't be hauling your worthless carcass anywhere either, because there's as much chance of Billy Joel touring with McCartney as there is of Sarah Palin becoming the next president.
Because the logistics and scheduling of such a venture would be impossible to negotiate. Not to mention the two artists having only a passing, professional relationship with each other.
Why would they tour together? You might as well throw a dozen artists names into a hat and pull out two at random - the odds are exactly the same.
big thanks for uploading this! I've been watching videos of this moment on Youtube and yours seems to have the best quality! I'm getting chills watching Billy announce "PLEASE WELCOME SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY" over and over!
wow this was amazing ;) to just c paul mccartney standing there a beatle i mean gosh

How close was the stage to the place where Wainwright struck out Beltran?
That had to be one of the most wicked curve balls ever thrown at Shea!

More money for me, then. (And for the record: Your prognostication re Gov. Palin came in on 2/28/09. We'll see...)
