  • any full videos of super bowl 11?

  • I remember that back in those days fans could smoke inside the Astrodome and a thick cloudy haze would hang over the field by halftime.

  • Dandy Don telling Howard, "When are y going to get to the rest of the story." Lmao! I miss those guys!

  • I mow Lamonica's lawn lol No Joke!!!

  • Interesting matchup for Monday Night Football because the Oilers weren't very good in 1972

  • Before The famous fight song Luv You blue time.....Nothin say a game then the famous fickle finger of Fate award!

  • Does anyone have the '73 Championship when the Dolphins blew out the Raiders? I only have the '74 and '75 Championships when the Steelers took them down.

  • Raiders are overrated.

  • @cljenkins63 your piece of shit team sucks!

  • @wildwildwest1414 The Raiders teams of the 70's would have won a lot more Super Bowls if they hadn't been a bunch of coked up party boys!

  • @cljenkins63 So what! They still won some answer the fuckin ouestion who's your team?

  • Those were some ugly uniforms for the Oilers...they looked much better with the white helmets they wore later on

  • @1975saigon Are you blind? the Oilers should have kept those powder-blue helmets. You probably think the redskins burgundy pants look good.

  • Giff, Howard, and Dandy Don. Monday Night Football in the 70's. Damn the passage of time.

  • Are the Otto's related?

  • Bill peterson sucked ass.

First Epic Fail in the NFL.

  • @Fullmetalking86 Bill Peterson was a great college coach though Florida State dominated the ACC under him.

  • @Fullmetalking86 He should have stayed at Florida State

  • Love the tackle by Villapiano on Pastorini. Classic!

  • George Atkinson--an average player riding the coat tails of being a cheap shot.

  • The Raiders blew out the hapless Oilers 34-0. At one point ABC focused on a sleepy fan, who proceeded to give the one fingered salute. Dandy Don Meredith was recalled to have responded "he thinks they're number one in the nation."

  • Dan Pastorini...Jay Leno...

  • This was the game where:

    A half-asleep, disinterested fan flipped the nation the bird, live and uncensored, leading to one of MNF's most memorable moments;

The Oilers started an 18-game losing streak that continued until a 31-27 win over the Colts in Baltimore on November 4, 1973. The Oilers' next MNF appearance wouldn't come until November 24, 1975.

  • @Mcnzlea

He was showing that the Oilers were number one.

  • Another thing I didn't realize until looking at the box score in this game was that the Oiler defense was keeping them in the game (the score at the end of the 3rd quarter was 13-0 Raiders). But the defense couldn't bail an offense held to only 89 yards and 5 turnovers forever, resulting in 3 4th quarter touchdowns.

  • Boy, the Oilers sure did stink in the early 70s.

  • @dcbandnerd not only were they bad but they were also snakebitten!

  • @TheTzdope until they went to Music City to escape from the real hell hole which is called Houston.

  • Anybody who thinks QB's of the past are better than today's QB's should take a look at Darryl Lamonica's completion percentage. 52 per cent & remember, Frank Gifford said he was leading the AFC in passing coming into this game.

  • @neneshubby

They threw a lot more longer passes pre 1980. Now QB's throw a ton of screens, dump off passes & passes under 10 yards. Another thing is that QB's used mostly 5-7 step drops whereas QB's since 90 use mostly 3-5 step drops. In general, there's been a ton of rules to open up the passing game & make the game safer & in order to allow more points. 2 rules in 78 were; WR's couldn't be touched after 5 yards & offensive linemen could finally use their hands to block.

  • @Sirscorps

I'm not saying QB's from the past are better than current QB's, i'm just saying that there are valid reasons why they weren't as good, but they're not as bad as you think.

    /Well, some are, lol.

  • @Sirscorps

Which makes Sonny Jurgensen IMHO the most underrated QB ever. He had numbers comparable to modern QB's with little to no help (really he had Charley Taylor...and that's it) and was ignominiously benched for BILLY KILMER.

  • @neneshubby The rules have changed over the years to facilitate the passing game. For example, defenders could bump receivers all the way down the field (unlike today). There were lots of good quarterbacks back then and if they had today's rules they'd have similar stats, if not better.

  • Raiders won 34-0 wish it was complete game

  • @MrRollins66

The entire game DOES exist although I don't have it. Just do a little searching, sometimes traders will trade a game for blank dvds, from what i've heard.

  • Man, this is primo. Do you have the Criminal Element Game ('76 regular season vs. the Steelers)?

  • @threeby8887

Not a lot of nfl games exist (yet?) from 1973 thru 1976.

  • From the game where some guy gets caught flipping the Oilers off. One of television sports' most awkward moments, certainly.
