We practice the standard 18 push hands sets, with variations and some extra push hands sets it gives us over 30 push hands patterns. plus the forms minus the quick fist. i am sure you know how many steps they have. what we practice is not exactly the same as the Malaysian schools nor does it claim to be. our system is based on Buddhism and the realisation of shunyata. Peace
In fact the Huang style is exactly the same as Chen Man Ching's as far as the short form is concerned but the long form that consists of more than a hundred moves are more comprehensive and includes numerous moves that are not included in the short form. These were discussed in depth and developed by the two whenever they met.
Huang style does not have anything to do with religion though admittedly Chang San Feng, who created Taiji, did developed the style for observing animals.
So as Grandmaster Huang was a student of Chen Man Ching is this haung style essential the same as that or was it significantly altered from its source material?
I just posted an interesting Huang Sheng Shyan form demo from the 1983 Singapore tai chi expo on my page.

Religion, no. But it has everything to do with spiritual development and ultimately, dissolution of the ego.

I agree and that is the only thing worth training for

that is also the original meaning of the word religion. It comes from the latin word re-ligio, which simply means to re-unite.

May I know what are the forms you are talking about. And how many steps are there in each form. As for push hands how many types do you practice?
