I can't comment on 'Hamlet' as I haven't seen it yet, but 'Turn Of The Screw' was a hopelessly ham-fisted adaptation of Henry James' classic work. Check out the superb film 'The Innocents' if you want to see what all the fuss is about.
I literally just said out loud, "ooh, this is weird!" at seeing Hamlet on a screen! It just felt odd to see the exact same stage, with everyone close up. Can't wait though!!
I felt the same - I took it with a grain of salt when they said they were keeping the look and feel of the stage production, but this really looks like the same room (albeit with 4 walls instead of just 1). Very cool.
