  • Granted not attractive or wise. But there are naturally dead bodies in any large body of water in the world, fish, animals and yes sometime people. We are conditioned by our artificial worlds to forget this. And to forget that water is polluted in horrific and very unnatural ways by us, not these people.

  • at 8.34 sec a corpse floting in the river. sad

  • 6:17 INDIAN FAG wearing green skirt shows pussy

  • worlds dirties stupid religon,3rd word filthy doggs

  • Bathing in Ganga river is one thing, BUT to wash one's mouth using that "holy" water..is another thing. Up to this day, I still cannot fathom their way of life. I am not biased, I just find this morning ritual 'disturbing". I saw on t.v. in southeast Asian countries, the common folks do the same thing. How they can survive for thousands of years still boggles my mind:) Can you imagine how dirty the river?

Talking about miracle...here is a miracle unfolding in front of viewers.

  • This is one thing the Hindus and Sikhs of India can't defend, swimming in this filthy water with animals and corpses. This really is a national shame.

  • I cannot imagine bathing in that filthy water.

The sad part is that if this was a bunch of people in the U.S. bathing in polluted water like this, everyone would look at them like they were crazy and disgusting for doing so. But somehow because it's in a foreign country, it's exotic and something to be admired.

  • I'm an Indian staying in India. This not the true representation of India. Believe me, all those people who are doing this so-called act of bathing in this gutter don't even understand the basic meaning of 'Hinduism' or even 'Sanitation'. i'm ashamed of this hypocrisy in the video. This is just pure lack of common-sense, intellectual and education. And finally...I have studied enough of 'Body Language' and most men here are oogling at the females bathing(?) and changing clothes. Perverts.

  • bohat ganday log han ye

  • india...my dream :)

  • i just want to ask...what is that thing who float? i thought it was a dead woman's body? they don't care about that while they are bathing? oh!!! what a people of india...

  • Yes, the occasional corpse is part of the 'scene' at Benares, because it is the most esteemed place to day...there are hospices where women[mostly] are waiting out their final days, and some families simply can't afford to pay for a proper cremation afterwards.

  • I respect d culture & religion of India, bt 1 thing is..dat practice of letting d corpse float n d river while most of d people r taking a bath & even drink from it. unsanitary isn't it? i see also some dead body cremated beside d river w/ only some firewood & dried grass.dat s what u said an expensive way 2 cremate? why dey dont make a place like cemetery & buried their corpse der so dat it wil nt affect d health of d living.anyway Christian, Muslim & ader religion hav der own cemetery.

  • misaellabayen,

The corpses are left to float by authorities who were expected to cremate them. But those guys take the payment from relatives and then to save on firewood just discard the corpses in the river and tell relatives that they cremated the actual body. It's unfortunate and it's not the custom to discard corpses without cremation. It's just corruption and greed.

  • Hi it is true. Indian culture is 5000 years old. in ancient time people used to float corps in rivers. at that time rivers were not frequently accessible to human. They have more water also. there fore it was not a big problem but as population increased and jungles were cleared river banks were occupied by human. slowly some of these practices became rituals. Over the period people are still following these bad practices. main reason is the lack of awareness and education.

  • nice, but... i thought the video length limit was 10 minutes, and you couldn't go over....
