okay so my friend has problem with posting, steering the horse, looking where shes going and keeping her heels down so how would i go about teaching her to do more then one thing at a time??
If you can, put her on the lungeline and call out different directions for her to look. For example, behind you, over your shoulder, to your left, towards the gate, towards that other horse, etc. I would also have her practice learning forward to the side, straight sideways, and back and to the side. If she doesn't have her heels underneath her she won't have any lateral stability. Then I would have her practice passing her reins from one hand into the other...
another good exercise i do with a lot of riders is the wind mill, using a lounge line have her let go of the reins and count the strides of trot then instead of posting have her place her arms straight out at her sides and count strides on 1 arms out and on 2 rotate her body with arms facing over neck and hind (this part replaces the post) and place markers on the wall for her to look at for patterns this will help w/ multitasking, balance, and keep her looking up
