The Board of Health in Hamtramk needs to revisit and check these bakeries out again. We stopped going there due to their blatant disregard for cleanliness. There are cockroaches everywhere in their stores everytime we used to go there and that was the past 20 years upto last year. Too bad. How hard is it to keep vermin out of food preparation areas? those aren't real paczki sadly. Paczki aren't supposed to be dumped in sugary syrup and then powdered to all hell.
I'm sure they're still delicious but imho the only real way to make paczki is with jam made with nearly no sugar, and light glazing on the top just so the powder sticks. Iunno, smacznego.
If you never tried these they are unbelievable. They use a special yeast. You gotta live in Chicago or Detroit to get the real deal. It sucks they dont have them in Cali
