A great improvement seems to have been made with the animation puppetry since Anderson's 1957's Twizzle. The sparks from the rocket seemed in slow motion to me so I suspect the film was slowed down to make the puppets appear smoother, less jerky and more realistic than they were in Twizzle. The Amazing Gerry Anderson! Thanks auspete...memories locked away..... now released! Gasp!

I'm from Germany, and here, there is a group of Pupeteers Called "Augburger Puppenkiste" that made much Series that looked like this. But they made it like this even in the 90's. But Gerry and Sylvia evolved it and then some years later the Puppets had not seeable strings and moving mouth. The Technology behind it is amazing.
