Very great playing! I am learning bass and have been playing for about 4-5 months and am trying to become descent at reading music, and not having to rely on tab. I am curious to know if you ever learned to read music and what are the best ways of practicing and advancing your playing skills in your opinion?

i suggest you learn teh fret board first best things done hard

if you dont want to read music

play some easy songs and try to hear out where the note is on the fretboard even though you dont know what the note is

practice that for a while and youll learn to recognize notes
