  • Great Song!!!...

  • 'been looking for this video for ages! Thanks for sharing. I wonder why the song is not available on iTunes? Pity :/

  • 2:48 to 3:20 , one of the best pop guitar solo ever. He makes it sing in a touching way.

  • she still has a bit of her old til tuesday persona, but the last tt record kind of fed into this. Jon Brion was the perfect to launch her into solo mode.

  • My all time Aimee track, not to say the rest ain't good too

  • You are so right, bb420. How Aimee Mann keeps going in a music industry that promotes only the most flashy, soulless, and craptacular artists, I don't know. But I'm glad she does. In the non-stop sh*t-parade of modern pop music, she helps to remind me that mankind really IS capable of producing something complex, enduring, and beautiful.

  • A perfect song!

  • It's amazing how Aimee maintains an almost impossibly high qualilty of music year after year, album after album.

  • Strange and beautiful. A heatrbreaking, rocking record.

  • God I wish she was a lesbian.

  • Haven't seen this vid in so long.

    Thanks for posting.

Aimee is such a great song writer.

  • She has the ability to write really melodic sad music. The song builts up until she says "hello, is anybody home" and you get that huge surge of release in that solo. Quite intense.

  • she was and still is one of the most consistantly intelegent songwriters in the business... really, i could listen to her sing the phone directory, such a great voice...thanks for this post...

  • My ex-wife used this song to beat me. It's taken me 15 years to appreciate it. She was right - but not in that she meant!

  • god, I love the "monobstacle part"

  • Aww, this is so 90's. I do love this song. So rough and yet neat.

  • bought it, loved it, bought it again, loved it again.. still love it, will always love it, thank you Aimee :)

  • Yeah olytanis and the fact that she sang through a dixie cup in the last few measures of the song! Who would have thought of doing that?

  • Bought this in '93. Classic all the way.

  • This is an awesome video! Thanks mannfan! I have always especially loved the "dot dot dot" instead of plain old bop bop or something she sang the punctuation! LOL

  • Such a great song and video - I never realised it was 'dot dot dot' till I saw this... cute.

  • Aimee Mann is so amazing.

  • beatle-y, drippin' with Melody.

  • Yes i know she's a great and very serious artist nowadays, but i still prefer her fun and perfect pop-tunes on Whatever and I'm With Stupid albums

  • I dunno...I love them both, but it's Bachelor and Lost in Space I've found myself coming back to the most after all these years - near-perfect stuff imo. (Not moved so much by her last two albums.)

  • That's really respectful of you. I'm glad you think about her looks before noticing the millions of records she has sold and the brilliant lyrics she has written.

  • I luckily stumbled across Whatever the year it was released and have been a diehard Aimee Mann fan ever since. i agree with many others here - one of the best debut albums by any artist. so many great songs to choose from. i always liked "Fourth of July". and kudos to jon brion, too. a brilliant player and arranger.

  • No shadow of a doubt about this dot dot dot - love you Aimee

  • loved this and jellyfish too 93 was a pretty good year

  • Oh, how I've missed this video! :-) thanks

  • This takes me back... Great pop song.

  • yep.....there must be this `93 album. "Whatever" beautiful, awaking me sometimes from deep thoughts....

  • This, along with "More Than A Feeling" by Boston, may be the 1 of the 2 greatest debut singles in pop music history - if only she had sold like Scholz, Delp (RIP) Goudreau & Hashian .....Jon Brion's lead guitar is as searing as any I've ever heard in my life.

  • However, I always wonder how much I like watching her videos has to do with the fact that I'm a guy and she is so freakin' hot.

  • I enjoyed this video in all of its slighty-dated and-awkward glory.

  • WOW I forgot how much I LOVE this album :) thanks for posting...

  • Love this song. It was the first song I had ever heard by her, in 1994.

  • oh gosh. Now I know what it feels like to be old!

  • Great album from '93 along with "Spilt Milk" by Jellyfish.

    Aimee is brilliant.

  • Spilt Milk is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. God, I love Jellyfish. They and Aimee are amongst those rare artists that can do no wrong

  • Agreed.

  • Agree with all being said here...Aimee Mann is super-talented

  • Ahhh..this takes me back..good times!

I agree with Bosma64, why the hell hasn't she had the support she so obviously deserves. The music industry continues to pump out unmitigated shite while genuine talent is passed over time and again.

Rant over...thanks for posting all of these great videos

  • without a doubt, aimee is very talented

  • aimee is best ive co,me across...

  • All these years I've been singing "I Should've Known, Bop, Bop, Bop" Oops! It's Dot, Dot, Dot! I Should Have Known . . . !

  • Awsome Aimee

  • sweeeeeet!

  • Wahooooooooooo! Love this performer.

  • i think it fits the song perfectly.

It doesn't worth the Magnolia masterpiece video directed by PT Anderson, but it still worth watchin'. Tank you for this post.

  • this AWESOME CD came out in 1992/93...her first solo LP. She's had such a hard time with record companies, etc over the years, she eventually started her own label. LOVE HER!

When the hell is the music industry going to stop promoting mindless fembot music like Jessica Simpson and throw a bone to real (incredible) talent like Aimee??!!

  • We're talking 10 years ago if not a little more. I think she had alot of fun doing this. Aimee is now 46 I believe and still keeps pumping out great lyrics and music. I've been a big fan always. Yeah I know..get a life.

  • why didn't she rock like this more often? This song is fucking brilliant!

  • o, mg. such a cheesy video for such a great song... i kinda like it though. (; and aimee mann playing air guitar?! priceless!

  • great song by a great singer songwriter
