@lskydrrn Indeed I think "Higher and Higher" is terrific on the album, but terrible in concerts! The Moodies as album artists were very serious and impressive, but the mellotron and, specially, Edge drumming on stages are a total mess, a deception. Moodies fans never praise Tony Clarke, but without him the Moodies would be no 7 core magnificent albuns.

I suspect the Moody Blues had these same images (and timing) in mind as inspiration for this music...To Our CCC is a masterful statement on one of humankind's crowning achievements...to man the moon. With philosophy arising from hearts sensitive to the larger picture of human evolution, the MB broke new artistic ground with cutting edge artistic vision acquainting so many of us (coming of age in the 60s and early 70s) with our inner philosopher / theologian...As for me, I was hooked...going on

Higher and higher begins with an actual recording of a Saturn V rocket, the kind used for the moon shots, launching. You can see one on display at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Most lmpressive!

@bobyard123 "Higher and Higher", which begins the album, is basically describes space travel as one on man's greatest feats. The verses of the song are spoken rather than sung. The song's spoken verses are provided by Mike Pinder. Sound effects of a rocket launching begin the song, and they last for the first minute.
