  • So, Penny, a penny for your thoughts. How did things turn out? Were you able to find an entry-level job in the legal profession and do you foresee yourself earning a worthy return on your law school investment? What happened to other graduates/3Ls in your class? Were they able to find jobs?

  • decent tit size. work that gut off though.

  • Solid advice. I'm a law school hopeful, and about to start the long study trek, so I find your affirmation of powerscore as a good prep book as yet another reason to invest in that company, which I'm about to do. The DVD Proctor seems neat too, especially since strident sounds tend to set my focus adrift when under duress. Assuming you're done with law school now (this vid is almost 4 years old), could you comment on your experience as a law student? Thank you much.

  • Congrats on getting in to law school :)! Your links are very helpful, although students have to be careful when taking PowerScore's Full-Length courses. Those can be counterproductive and a waste of time.

  • @blackphonetic1

LOL you must be a robocop fan

  • Penny this is a very old video so can you tell us how you did on the LSAT and did you attend law school?

  • I'm going to take the LSAT in October. I'm not really into a "study course", I think that a person should study on their own. I got a lot of LSAT study books. What do you think? No study course or not?

  • My advice would be to start studying early.

  • Thanks for sharing your advice with others, Penny!

  • You would be my weakness during my study sessions.

  • Thanks for posting this and all the best in law school!

  • penny, I want to ram your lsat all night long.

  • She got either a 171 or a 179 (I forget exactly). She stated this in her text, but removed it a while ago.

  • Thanks Penny! I write my LSAT tomorrow morning so we'll see how it all turns out. I feel pretty confident about my ability and the time I took to really absorb the strategies of the LSAT. Your video was helpful and just boosted my confidence a bit more, so thank you for that!

  • I found this very to be very enlighting I wanted to know how many hours a day and how many days and how long had you been studying for the lsat?

  • I want to penetrate you in your dorm room. Which school do you go to?

    Thanks!

    :)

  • @EternalIntelligence Come on man... that one is way too creepy.

  • Penny, how many months did you spend studying?

  • hey, this is really helpful. When did you start studying for the LSATs . Im starting now and hopefull taking the feb test. is 3.5 months good enough?

  • The 35-minute timing portion of the LSAT is used as a psychological effect to get people to rush and get a ridiculously low score--( Hint: Don't fall victim to this "rushing" trap). The LSAT is actually an accuracy and efficiency test, so SLOWING DOWN on all the question types on all four sections is crucial to getting an exceptionally high score. Best of luck to all future test takers!

  • hey penny, thanks for all the ideas. I have a couple questions.

    1. Did you read the reading comp bible and logical reasoning bible? If so how were they?

    2. What differences did you notice when you started with the old tests moving forward?

    Thanks

    -Ryan

  • I need help studying!

  • Thank you so much for the tips

  • Are you going to give an update video on how well you did on the LSAT and what school you got into?

  • I hit a 171 and I watched this video during my 3-4 study period...it was a great help...Penny you should give us an update on your progress as a law student...oh and picking up hot chicks like Penny in the future motivated me to do well on the test.

P.S. I'm so sick of the liberal cry babies who complain about standardized testing...guess we should go by the grades of liberal professors to decide? Or maybe we can have an equal racial composition into each school..blah

  • no offense to any monkeys lol

  • how did you go from future law school hopeful to I did really well on the LSAT's and I did get get into law school? hmmm... I'm a great listner and I think that is the real key to being a great lawyer

  • @los2424 she may have financial issues or family issues to resolve. There is a fairly decent attrition rate if you look at the difference between how many accept an offer of admission and how many people actually show up to school. Just a thought.

  • This video is from two years ago, I wonder how she did and what law school she got into

  • Oh and by the way, how long did you study for the LSAT?

  • You're awesome! Thanks for the info! You're the only one giving advice and opinion that is not a biased like those promoting the various LSAT prep companies! ahhh I have to start this year practicing once in a while and then intensely in the summer! By the way where did you get the Poerscore book? because it's not in stores in Canada, I don't know about US though do you know any stores that have it available, preferably in nyc? because my last resort is buying offline. Thanks!

  • Thanks fo r the advice. :)

  • "I didn't know what to do..." typical blonde...

  • i had an excellent teacher at kaplan, thanks michael but I also took it last year and he was horrible. Very egotistic.....so there is good/bad teachers, period.

  • What was your score please? If you don't want to share, could you at least say on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the absolute best of the best score you expected, and 1 being the worst score a monkey would do, what was your score?

  • You are going to go far!!! :)

  • Thanks for the advice princess.

  • Please don't spam my video! Thanks to everyone else for their comments.

  • @APennyForUrThoughts Penny you're so hot

  • hi penny, thanks for this informative video! It is great! Can you also please post your score? I mean was that 177+ or 170+ or waht was that exactly? Which school you got into? Please send me through message.

  • thank you for this video!

  • Ilkkavu just got straight up lawyered.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check out the links.

  • single? :)

  • Thanks for that LSAT proctor idea! and also congrats on being accepted (although now your probably well into law school).

    Cheers!

  • While I appreciate you posting your first-hand advice, please take care in advising others. I'm a LSAT Prep Instructor for Kaplan--a "monkey", I believe you called us--and I have had well over 150 hugely successful students who saw great improvements after taking my class. Leave room for the fact that in this SKILLS BASED (not silly, but practical) exam, improvement is mostly governed by each individual and there are great things to be gained from a prep course...just something to keep in mind!

  • hmmmmm chocolate ice cream ;) thanks for the post qt. ciao! wow, nice catch on the "bible"!!!!

  • it's a silly test.

everybody studying like a madman for this test and making it harder for others to get a great score on the test.

    that's what standardized testing means.

    only in america.

  • I agree that it's a silly test.

Blaming others for your failure to adequately prepare, however, is also silly. You will surely not succeed in law school, and life, with that attitude.

And to suggest that people only study for standardized tests in the United States is absurd.

By silly I assume you mean that it doesn't test legal ability. I agree. But I think this is even more reason to study. Don't let a silly, irrelevant test hold you back from your dreams of becoming a lawyer!

  • @APennyForUrThoughts yes, in fact in my country many tests are also standardized, but they measure certain areas of study like math or chemistry.

LSAT is an IQ-test in disguise. what other country has this kind of tests?

succeeding in life is a different thing than succeeding in law school. succeeding in law school obviously involves making other people look bad. :D

  • actually, i'd argue that the analytical and reading skills necessary for success on the lsat are pretty relevant.

    plus, logic games are fun.

  • @APennyForUrThoughts

I just ordered that LSAT Proctor DVD along with other test prep materials. Thanks for your advice! =]

  • @APennyForUrThoughts hi penny, thanks for this informative video! It is great! Can you also please post your score? I mean was that 177+ or 170+ or waht was that exactly? Which school you got into? Please send me through message.

  • @ilkkavu It's in Canada too :( We have the same test as those in America!

  • That is the great debate. If studying for a test that is designed to measure your aptitude for logic and to determine whether or not you are ready for law school increases your test scores, then what is the point of the test?

During my interviews for CU and USD I stated that I had passed the CPA exam without retaking any sections. I am convinced that this was the biggest factor in getting me into both schools. I had already taken and passed a test that is arguably harder then the bar exam.

  • lol what a statement by @ilkkavu "all the people trying so hard are making even harder for dumbasses like myself!"

Yeah I hate it when the smart people fuck up the curve, why can't they just be stupid like the antisemitic dickhead above!

  • @flpackerfan LOL, I'm not antisemitic and I do pretty well on these kind of tests. I admit my comment from a year ago is stupid. xD

It's just funny when you score high on that kind of test. You can celebrate other people's stupidity!

  • @ilkkavu

this is one of the most retarded comments I've ever seen

  • be my study buddy :)

  • Great video, makes me feel better about my studying :)

  • managed to get a 179 on mine

  • Good gouge...congrats on Law School. My god, you're gorgeous! Sorry, couldn't help myself :)

  • Are you in Law School now? If so, how is it?

  • Comment removed

  • One step at a time!

  • @marke8

California Bar? I think that Concord Law School is part of the Bar but Ca. is not accredited by the ABA so you can only practice in CA. True>?

Because I do want to go to Concord law which is online.

  • @marke8 Well... yeah. The LSAT is for before law school, and the Bar is for after law school. Of course it's harder.

  • Comment removed

  • @yawenalice You know Penny is right...one step at a time is the process to take towards this long road to "attorney land." I just thought I should provide awareness to those perspective future law school candidates about the level of difficulty the MBE questions and/or essay portions of the BAR could be relative to the information presented on the LSAT. I guess what I'm trying to state is that those who complained about how hard the LSAT is/was, just haven't seen anything HARD yet.

  • Thank you very much for these tips. Much appreciated.

  • "My goodness!"

  • Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations. Best of luck to you in law school.

  • Just ordered the Powerscore books and SimuGator DVD

  • what was your score? when i first watched this i thought you said something about 160-something but i watched it about 2 times in a row and didnt catch the score you made

  • That's what she said!

  • that chick is going to be a hot lawyer

  • im in the 11th grade and i want to be a lawyer i just wanted to know what should i major in when i get into college? because there is no pre law courses

  • political science is good, or classics

  • You can major in whatever and go to law school. What is advised, usually, is to major in English since you'll be reading and writing alot in law school. But i say to just pick an easy major so you can hold a strong GPA.

  • both the LSAT Proctor DVD and Powerscore Bibles are great, thanks for the recommendation!

  • Thanks for the advice, I have 27 days left.

  • Anybody getting sort of a pre-rape feeling from Brockshelgren?

  • aww thanks

  • You're creepy and weird.

  • Are you retarded? I didn't post this video. I'm someone who happened to see your comment and thought I should tell you what a creep you are, if you didn't know. There's obviously something really wrong with you and you lack some basic human interaction skills. I feel grossed out even communicating with you. Goodbye.

  • You got mad at me for calling you a weirdo... but you reaffirmed how weird you are in your angry, vulgar, hateful rant. I wouldn't be surprised if you get arrested for being a sexual predator. Creep-o.

  • u r god for me,,thanx for posting,,msg u smtime

  • I rather be an unemployed lawyer than an employed doorman, but that is just my opinion. Thanks for the video, it is very helpful Penny.

  • Amen

  • @TheJoeyD27 Really? A doorman is a man with a job. There's no such thing as an "unemployed lawyer". You're just unemployed.

  • Lsat practical logic:

If the unemployment is at 30% in two years, then why blow 100k to be like 100 million others?

becoming a lawyer is about as lucrative as owning a time share.

our society awards peformance, NOT credentials

  • I can't figure out if you are a disgruntled lawyer who isn't happy with his salary or a disgruntled law school applicant who didn't get into the schools of his or her choice? If you aren't one of the above, then why are you watching and commenting on my video?

  • You type four lines in response some guy who clearly doesn't like you, and you can't answer my one simple question?

  • He's probably the Kaplan teacher you just insulted.

  • Penny, nice score. Would you mind telling me what you were scoring on your first few preptests? Also, I realize it's kind of personal, but I've read that IQ is strongly correlated to LSAT performance. So, what is your IQ?

  • I've never taken an IQ test, sorry.

  • How did you do on your first few preptests?

  • Hey Penny! I have a quick question. I just recently decided that I want to attend law school when I'm finished with my undergrad and I graduate May 2010 so I'm going into my senior year. I obviously missed the June LSAT but I'm wondering if the Dec. LSAT would still work or look good for apply to LS for the Fall of 2010? Or should I attempt the Sept LSAT with lots of study and preperation. I just ask because I know people spend MONTHS studying and I'd only have about a month and a half. Thanks!

  • Unless you are an LSAT god you most likely will not be able to achieve your desired score with only a month and a half of preparation. This is why I would probably recommend taking the December LSAT. But study hard and take frequent diagnostics and see you can do. If you are not where you want to be come December, delaying law school one year would not be a bad idea at all. The only advantage taking the LSAT earlier would give you is an earlier application submission in the rolling admissions.

  • Thanks for the advice Penny! I am about 95% sure I'm just going to go for the December test (enless by some miracle I get a great score in the next couple weeks). But sorry to bother you again, just one last question and I'm done haha. Where would be able to get ahold of all the practice tests available? I know LSAC offers one free one and some books. There are some on amazon but those seem so old. Would there be a specific book or books of prep-tests you'd recommend getting? And again, thank you

  • Geeze, I hope it's multiple choice.

  • Humble.

  • Im taking the Lsat and was wondering how much time they give, how are seating arrangements and last are all the exams given that day the same for everyone or are they different for every person

  • The sections are 35 minutes each, all the tests are the same, and they assign you to a room.

    BTW... don't cheat on it.

  • on the lsac. org website... why would you want to work your way up, instead of just taking the more current test?

  • Hey! Good advice, I'll definitely pick up the logic games book. What were you starting at when you first began your preparation? I'm hovering around 166 and would love to see a low 170's score myself.

  • wow, penny ur hot! I like the way ur boobes bounce towards end. oh yeah, thanks for sharing ur secrets to success

  • Hey I saw your video and I just purchased the LSAT Proctor DVD. Now I am about to buy the POWERSCORE Logical Reasoning Bible.

Hopefully I get in the 160's

  • Penny critiquing the LSAT DVD camera work....hilarious. Thanks for the advice, though. Good luck in Law School and don't let the "Kingsfield" Professors get you down...

Watch The Paper Chase whenever you feel down.

  • Everything i studied before hand was pretty much useless when it came to the test. The test itself was more intense and in depth then what i assumed i had down to a science. I would freak out if i could accomplish pulling off a 171 on the lsat. congratulations penny!!!!!

  • amen to that haha

  • you being likeable, that's a joke

  • stockmarketfreak said:

"A women being a lawyer thats a joke"

If you're going to insult anyone, let's work on the grammar first. "Women" is plural form for woman and you put "A women." Using A is to imply singular form. "Thats" is suppose to have an apostrophe before the "s." But you were suppose to use "is" instead of "that's" to even make it grammatically correct.

You're just some punk 15 year old kid with a penis so tiny; youre capable of urinating on your own nuts.

  • Monkeys at Kaplan... haha

  • Good thing this girls hot, because otherwise she's extremely annoying

  • Aw, you're so cute. Thanks for making this video! Congrats on your score and getting into law school! :)

  • Thanks for the advice!!!!!! I'm so nervous for the LSAT

  • She should have done this video naked.

  • penny thanks i going to take the lsat towards the end of the year ,soon as i get my b.a im going to get the bible logic book and the pro. cd thanks for your advice!!!!

  • tits out

  • Oh, you look so sweet.

Good luck being taken serious in the field.

  • ahahahaha... good old fashion sexism is what gets today's men on top of the corporate pyramid looking down on 1 female employee at a time.

  • Thanks for the video, Penny! Logic Games are what's keeping me from 90% percentile. Good luck everyone!

  • you are so adorable

  • I should've mentioned that my diagnostics are all over the place. One time my score was 158 and the very next time it was 150.

  • I guess my question is whether the LSAT is like an IQ test, where no matter how much studying you do, you can't really get any higher, or not?

  • My first diagnostic test was a 143. But my highest diagnostic was a 160. They typically hover around 155. Honestly, the actual LSAT could be 160 or 150. Is this normal?

  • What was your lowest diagnostic test?

  • thank you so much, that was very helpful

  • She is afraid someone would go a after her feet.

  • So where are you attending law school?

  • APennyForUrThoughts (3 weeks ago)

I don't disclose where I go to law school... have to be safe on the internet, I hope you understand.

Thanks for the kind comments and good luck on your LSAT!

  • Hey Penny quick question i'm a first yera college student in my second semester, my first semester I very well in but my second semester so far has been a bit rough (competitve classes) Im taking 2 science courses that are mandatory and science is not my thing so I wanted ot know if my GPA drops a couple points will that hurt my chances from going into law school?

  • Your LSAT score is weighted more heavily than your GPA.

Having said that, try to get the best GPA possible. If you foresee yourself not doing well in certain classes, seek extra help by talking to your professor or hiring a student tutor.

  • I also would like to know when you would suggest I should begin studying for the LSAT's. Im a first year college student and was wondering if starting ealry would be an advantage for me.

  • I think that most college students looking to attend law school immediately after college take their LSAT in the summer between Junior and Senior years. This enables them to retake in October and/or December if they need to.

Having said that, take the LSAT whenever you can devote enough time to studying and be absolutely ready. If this is sooner than later, there is nothing wrong with it. LSAT scores are good for 5 years I believe.

  • Appreciate the advice.

171!!! That's awesome. So far, on my prep test (I'm in the Princeton review) I got a 155. But, that was the first time I ever took an LSAT.

Anyway, if you don't mind me asking, what law school did you get accepted to w/ a 171? Also, what was your first LSAT score that you got on a prep test?

Just wondering what kind of increase other people saw when practicing for the LSAT. TIA!

  • Oh, and Penny...

one more question. In your opinion, are the more recent LSAT test more difficult than the older LSAT test? If so why?

    TIA.

  • Generally the with the newer LSATs, the games get easier but the args and reading comp get harder, but that's a huge generalization.

Like "Penny" I took a course (Princeton Review), and it only helped a little bit. If you have no trouble getting yourself to study (which is a MUST HAVE quality if you wanna do well in law school), don't waste your money on a prep course. Do what she says... Powerscore and LSAC PrepTests.

  • Also... LSAC sometimes "reuses" games by sticking new names on the variables. If you complete the LSAT SuperPrep book and all the LSAT PrepTests (and it's a good idea to do as many as possible, timed/untimed), you'll notice patterns and repeats between older and newer tests. Just expect to have generally easier games and harder RC and args.

  • Hi Penny, I am a prospective law student. Yet to take the LSAT. Can you please tell me how much time would one need to prepare for the test, especially if not planning to take any LSAT classes. Thanks.

  • This really varies with each individual.

I would recommend taking real prep tests periodically while you studying. If your score is not going up, then it is clear that you will need to devote more time to studying.

  • I understand about Kaplan, got Bachelors from there but Masters program sucks. Cannot afford courses and have 4 books so now its up to me? LOL yikes

  • what was your undergrad in?

  • History and Political Science double major.

Your major has very little bearing on your admission to law school, so my advice to you is to not necessarily go the "pre-law route" and major in something 1) you love, 2) that could help you get a good job if you change your mind about law school.

  • Hey Penny, what was your undergrad major?? I am an English major and strongly considering going to law school. I was just curious if you were an English major as well and if you felt well prepared or not for applying to law school?

  • You got a good score on the difficult test. May I ask which law school do attend?

  • I don't disclose where I go to law school... have to be safe on the internet, I hope you understand.

Thanks for the kind comments and good luck on your LSAT!

  • I understand. I thank you for sharing your experience.

  • thanks for the advice penny. you're hot too lol.

  • penny you look young and cute

  • Thanks for the video. which law school did you go to at last?

  • Hey.

What was the law forum that you went to?

Thanks for the video btw. Good advice from a prospering student.

How many months in advance did you study and for how long?

BTW what did you get on your SAT's I wonder if your just a generally really smart person =D

  • Hey Penny, did you make law review?
