  • Chuck Norris was also the drummer in his band for six years. Jerry Reed himself knew Kung Fu and was a 20 degree black belt. He actual could fit into the same clothes that Bruce Lee wore in Enter The Dragon.

  • @davidasleep01 all true my friend, all true

  • This is Country FUNK!

  • His style almost gives the impression he's never played guitar before, yet it always sounds amazing.

  • rip jerry

  • Jerry is the best with his voice and his guitar ! Unique !

  • As a guitar player myself(different style) Jerry is one insperational musician and a hellava actor and Trucker ,me being a licenced truck mechanic ,Back in the day ,it was common to see Jerry,s cassettes in the truck cab and the radio tuned to a country station,Now, Taking a testdrive of a truck repaired is a Crapshoot and I just turn the radio OFF,The face of the trucker has changed drasticely ,,But Jerry is with me forever Son

  • I had lunch with Jerry Reed. By accident. John Jay Hooker (a famous politician, lawyer, business man of Nashville) took me out for lunch one day. We walked into Varallo's Chili (now torn town by some bastards) and John Jay said, "There's old Jerry. Let's have lunch with him." I was thrilled. I knew his music, but also enjoyed his acting. This musta been about 1995 or so. Though you meet a lot of stars in Nashville (music, movies, etc), meeting Jerry Reed was a thrill. He was a real man. Still is

  • It's too bad he and elvis couldn't have made an album together. wow.

  • Jerry was a friend of mine and the most incredible thing was to me that he played on a nylon string electrical classical guitar. No one did this at that time. Jerry told me that it was because the electric classical had such a gutsy sound to it. Incredible guitarist, and a great friend. I miss ya brother.

  • @diagn0stik yes!

  • wasnt this dude in Waterboy? lol

  • @ckilla111 Yep! Great musician and actor

  • @ckilla111 Certainly was. A legend

  • better then the man himself

  • HUGE TALENT...playing great AND good singer too!

  • Chet and Jerry both learned this style of picking from Meryl Travis. Jerry Reed improved it to his own style. A great guitarist and will be missed.

  • Unsung master of the guitar and show. Miss ya Jerry.

  • it whould have ben better without his band

only Jerry , the harplayer and the guy on drums :)

i've never heard of this guy before . well he's amazing!

  • Who was better at playing Guitar, Jerry Reed or Chet Atkins ??? It doesn't matter cuz we were alive to see both of these Masters.....:)

  • when your hot your hot he was steaming go go Jerry

  • Can someone tell from which record does this song come from?

  • This is it, Jerry. Great.

  • The real deal!

  • yep

  • I met him personally in June 2000. I'll never forget that. I'm so thankful for this experience. His music, as well as Chets, are accompagning me since I'm 8 years old. And now I'm 54. I love him! - Sorry for the errors in my english. I'm just so touched when I now also found this video clip! Thanks so much for posting it.

  • A great version of That's All Right by the guitar man himself- I agree he should have recieved more acclaim

  • "Pick it, Son!" LOL

  • Jerry Reed Waylon Jennings Hank Williams Sr. Johnny Cash Harry Mclintock Merl Haggard, and anyone under that category

are THE best musical artists ever!

  • I like his voice better than the original

  • Son!!!

  • Whew son what a picker loved yoy Jerry.

  • Jerry was the best. Wish he received more recognition for his guitar playing while he was alive.

  • "Nobody die from this - do they George ?". - - - Jerry's chatter is in a class of it's own.

And I can't turn off his music - it's just great - no one like him.

  • Always liked ol' Jerry, thanks for posting!

  • One can't help but smile and tap your toes on this one.

  • Wow.

  • Super pickin' as always from Jerry.

  • Love and miss you Jerry !

  • RIP Jerry you were awesome!

  • Awesome Jerry !

    TCB DANNY

  • Not bad for all the technical problems. I don't think the harmonica player knew where the chord changes where at.

  • 0:43 lol Wayne Gretzky on harmonica

  • HEY WATERBOY, YER FIRED!

  • Very nice.

  • Travis, Atkins, Reed,Knopfler and the french Dadi are the best ...

    Nice upload thank's for that

  • I remember him from Smokie and the bandit, and never knew until recently he even played guitar. I feel like I missed out on a whole lot of gold. So glad youtube exists right now.

  • Jerry Reed was an incredible talent - Never got the publicity and notoriety he was due.

  • ha ha ha YEAH!!! big smile!

  • What model Fender gut string is he playing here?

  • MultiPeteT, You are absolutely right : Jerry should have received more recognition, esp. for his fine guitar-picking. You Tube has several examples of him playing with Chet Atkins, America's finest guitar master...

  • God only made one Jerry Reed.

  • Hell yes!!!!

  • WOW.

  • Just when I've recovered from the last JR video, I run across this...Holy crap this guy had talent to spare! I don't think I've ever heard anyone else who mastered their instrument so well. Everything else about him (writing, singing, humor, etc) is just indescribable! Amen Son! Thank you for Jerry's music!

  • No doubt at all: one of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen.

  • Usually when Elvis made a song famous it ruined it for everyone else because they justvcouldn't top the King. Jerry did a helluva job on this and made it original. Very cool rendition.

  • Guitarschool by a genious! Technique is one thing, aint many better than JR in that aspect but this man made everything swing and sway so you almost got "seasick"!

  • Awesome

  • Classic footage

  • god of guitar

  • God, I miss Jerry Reed!

  • oh yes jerry, you were the man. thanks for the music. We miss you.

  • This man is pure guitar man from head to toe

  • you just have to laugh at his quirks. "Get Funky"

  • luvin it big time...

  • que bueno!!! very good

  • Talk about perfect timing. Fucking wow.

  • I got a have more cow bell!!

  • @0:45 I didnt know chuck norris played in jerry's band.

  • @cast390 lol

  • Love the intro....

  • Jerry Reed - Truly great artist. Should have received more recognition while he was alive.

  • really awesome - let's Boogie!

  • OMG this rocks..where is this from!!!

  • Thanks to whoever posted this one. Jerry uses these licks on his "Pickin" album circa 1998. I've listened to "Does Anybody Wanna Boogie" a zillion times trying to figure this one out. Dang...! now I actually get to see him do it!!!

Now I just wish Buster B. Jones was still with us to help pickers figure it out. I miss those guys.

  • He does them both in Open G....I'm pretty sure...thats how I figured it out anyways.

  • I'm pretty sure you're right...listen to the open string harmonic at the very end...would indicate that open tuning

  • Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel are the greatest pickers in the world!! Especially CHet

  • don't forget about Lenny Breau.....:D

  • Great, great. When/where is this performance from?

  • A great guitarist & a unique personality. One of the best, no doubt!

  • thnx musicman

  • Like I said, not to bash on Jerry for one instant, he could carry any group probably with one hand tied behind his back. Truly a master. NO DOUBT.

  • Not to bash jerry in any way, he is one of my idols, but is it me or is the band , for the most part, completely unskilled? The percussion is horrible. Maybe they are all just really intimidated by his greatness. I would be too. Jerry was/is a genius.

  • well i dont know, Jerry Reed's bands never really had much percussion. Lol they probably ARE intimidated by his greatness. I would've loved to play alongside him though, too bad he's dead. R.I.P Snowman, Jerry Reed.

  • i agree for, if anything, the harmonica solo. they need terry mcmillan in there.

  • I often wonder: What if Jerry Reed made it to Sun Records BEFORE Elvis...he certainly had a 'blacker' sound! Interesting to speculate...

  • Have you heard Jerry's early rockabilly stuff? Much better than Elvis, and J. R. wrote most of his stuff back then, not sure how much writing Elvis did. I wish he'd get the respect as a musician he truly deserves.

  • Elvis was a great tallent, but he never wrote anything. The Colonel forced some writers to add Elvis as co-author before he would agree to record them. Parker was a leech. A controling leech.

  • lol doc schneider..cant argue with that! man that guy had talent

  • that´s allright mama....great song!

  • Pick it son!

  • A Master At Work!!!Jerry Was Amazing With A Guitar.

  • Too bad about the feedback on the Harp mic. Ouch!

  • he was amazing!

  • He probably won't be bringing back that style what with the whole "being dead" thing working against him...

  • Comment removed

  • I think he dropped the A string down to G too as well as the E down to D, and the little E is dropped down to D. You're basic G tuning, but man how the cat could play..... Son!

  • Anybody know if he tuned it for this song other than the drop D?

  • when the world lost this man...it lost one of the best guitar pickers and music writers it could have ever ask for!

  • This proper music.

    Great entertainment from a Master...!!!

  • Love it.......EJC

  • I am never ceased to be amazed by the man. Great vid

  • thanx for jerry :)

  • Nobody did it better. We miss you Jerry.

  • Fantastic!!!

  • He was so good man! I mean Wow! I am floored every day by something else he did!

  • This video is great. I get get enough.

  • Genius

  • I love this song....haven't heard him do this...not that I can remember. Really nice. I love hearing him play and sing. Thanks!

  • Jerry is one awesome picker, entertainer etc.
