Thanks for sending....Love The Zombies and am vaguely aware of this song...Do you know if it's another Rod Argent written song...Great song and sound...Thanks for sending...Best Wishes for 2012.....Dave
when I listen to contemporary rock and roll it all sounds so derivative...after all , my generation grew up with the real thing, the originators, bands like the Zombies and Kinks and Byrds and Beatles and Stones and Animals....everything today sounds like a copy of what went before....sort of embarrassing to hear
I wouldn't say Pink Floyd is better than the Zombies.., look how much longer Floyd was together...!! Floyd has alot of treasures and some junk in their music catalog. It's equally dumb when people argue Beatles & Stones. At the end of the day they were all brilliant in their own right !
@Darbyjack Pink Floyd? They had a few cool tracks, but overall they loved wallowing in their own pretense (which really was a faux version of what Syd Barrett was doing pre "Dark Side.")
@johnj623 i wouldnt say that. Remember such bands as Buffalo Springfield, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Canned Heat, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Jimmi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and so on.
its killer music. just i fell like a ZOMBIE after listening to their music. just like a dead i got out of this world awhile listening ot it and so then im a ZOMBIE now
Well, first off I don't think you can assume the Beatles are better than the Stones. Second, I don't think you can assume that the Zombies aren't better than the Stones or the Beatles.
This version is definitely better than the original, which had way too much reverb on Colin's vocals... Have you heard the version with the same vocals as this one, but completely orchestral instrumentation?
I have to disagree that this version is the best. The undubbed version just KICKS, vocals are more rocknroll too. All that multitracking and strings kills the song for me. Same with Ill Call You Mine. But thats just taste. Glad people like it either version.
For comparison check out the dubbed version of If It Don't Work Out--that I think is definitely better than the undubbed.
This song really does it all....

The Zombies WERE the best group of the 60s. No one can tell me different... The sound, the feel will never be reduplicated.

@johnj623
I wouldn't go as far as saying The Zombies are the best band of the 60s. There were much better bands such as Pink Floyd.

I don't think I have, where can I find it?
Darbyjack 3 years ago
It's on the "Into the Afterlife" CD, and it's great because they all start singing out of key at the very end and then crack up.
