Search for a lesson on any song and you get ordinary Joes playing it. I have never seen the original songwriter personally show you how he plays a song. What a modest, down-to-Earth individual. Ed must have gone to Woburn Collegiate in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, and perhaps had Madeleine Tarver as his French teacher. Just a guess.
Ed you freaking crack me up bro! hahah. Love the dead serious faces, and the sarcasm. Only you can do it haha! Glad to know i was playing your song fairly right for the most part! One thing i really liked, is what you said about the right hand! so true, i found this song challenging because that right hand had to be mastered. People drop there mouths in awe, because its such a fluid rhthym which lots of accenting on the guitar. amazing work! thanks for sharing bro!
No idea who those people are who he mentioned, and im quite the guitar player. it took me a few times watching this and reading a few comments that there is some VERY dry humor there
haha this is hilarious i love Ed's humor. The ending cracks me up with the "i'm Ed Robertson and i'am the idol of guitar players everywhere" and the dead serious look he gives haha i'm surprised he didn't smile or laugh.
Ed was always the more polished guitarist and Steve was the one with the more powerful voice. Together they formed one of the best duos since Lennon/McCartney. Plus Ed has a great voice as well but its not the same without Steve
You know what....People are always like Yeah Man play as fast as you can gotta be like Dimebag or Satriani or Clapton or whoever. The real skill is in the rhythmic and percussive guitaring like this. I believe this guy is one of the great guitarists and not only that but songwriters of our time. The fact that McCartney said he'd always love to work with the barenaked ladies backs me up. Perfect =)
@chocolaterainlololo he was joking... he didn't mean it to sound that way. I think it was the way it was edited to, he probably started laughing after he said that but they cut it out...I hope so anyways...
I'm pretty sure that chord is an F9add12, not F9add11.

@TheChesneyChrist great analogy. they are all great guitarists

@TheChesneyChrist real skill lies in both...just because you like one more doesn't make the other require less skill.

Glad to hear from Ed's tone that there's no bad blood at all between Page and the band.

I love this guy!
Master of sarcasum, he starts of so modest stating the band like we don't know them, then says he's the idol of guitar gods, lol!!
Can't wait to see them on the 24th!!
