@mjsipg Actually, it's the other way around. This is very much 'niche'. It's that moody dreampop, like The Cure. Maynard even called APC pop when he got into this band. Tool is the band that is wide open. 7 to 12+ minute songs, abandoning verses and choruses wherever they deem necessary, astonishing drumming, atmospheric guitar work, subject matter you could spend hours delving into when you're done listening to the music. No, Tool is FAR more open than APC.
