  • Slash is the coolest person alive.

  • BTW Clapton rules. But he has done loads better than Cocaine.

  • Lol Viewer Discretion advised. Not going to have a go agaisnt anyone, everyone has an opinion.

  • Yeeee Hotel California! :)

  • in the comment below Diana Deutch refers to a statement made in the book: Life Mind and the Universe in the chapter Music and Talk and she is selected as the cutting edge great scientist in this area of our time (well worth reading for musicians) and the "perception differences" she is talking about pertains to music.

  • I want to see more "my favorite...of all time" as these titles seem to give rise to multiple nasty or dismissive comments. It would make reading the comments more enjoyable as who can really argue with that. When the top Artists themselves pick their favorites since their opinions are based on a master understanding i listen, Even so it's aesthetic preference we are talking about and Diana Deutch tells us that perception differences depend on the mother tongue and geographical origin of a person

  • The greatest, the best,Etc...yawn.These titles(appearing all over the net) have lost their punch as it becomes obvious everyone want's their favorites remembered that way and hey to add to the "what about" just to make a point Segovia,Django Rheinhart, etc. My Favorite solo is From Lazarus Sin's Monument..but I wont say it's best-That's a matter of taste.

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers is SHIT.

  • Gilmour's Comfortably Numb should easily be number one. None of these have any where close to the effect that Comfortably Numb does. Oh and Slash is incredibly overrated, just saying.

  • its his top 10 list... if you dont like it make your own. I wouldnt have personally picked this list but I still enjoy whats in it

  • Fuck you and your fuckin' Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • nope, fail, PRINCE is not even in it, no...again to say what was sais, Gilmour? but prince get a pair of human ear....thanks anyway...peace

  • YES SOMEONE FINALLY REALIZED FREE BIRD IS THE BEST!!! you missed eruption though...

  • The solos mentioned are very good but to leave out guys like Jeff Beck and Ritchie Blackmore is blasphemous....LOL>

  • See the List has some good solos but its all based on Opinion too. There are many more solo's out there that could be perfect for this but its his taste. Personally I'd have the 9 minute voodoo child by Hendrix or the 10 minute Eruption solo in clips on there just make people go search for the longer solos. And this should not be titled 10 greatest, just you Favorites!

  • No Van Halen, or how about Ace Frehley "Shock Me" or some Nugent, Living Colour, Ty Tabor.........Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!!!!!! Whomever composed this list, should get their head examined. And another thing that people should go before they make a statement like "10 Greatest" or "Best". Instead of those words, you should put "My Favorite", that way you don't look like such an idiot.

  • belachelijke top 10, eerder een persoonlijke keuze, maar verder ook niet.

  • one of the only solo vids with stevie in it aha nice

  • pink floyd has some amazing solos in dogs comfortably numb the fletcher memorial home almost every song has a great airy solo

  • simple no pink floyd...sucks...but hey at least he knows jimi page...!!

  • I'm a huge fan of rock music and i like them all....but i couldn't agree withouth Comfortably numd on greatest solo...

  • You put RHCP in there and forgot about Gary Moore,EVH,Satriani,Steve Vai and some others.

  • @680540 steve vai is a bag of testicles

  • @tobfuroshos Steve Vai would shred your face to pieces blindfolded.

  • music carried on after the 70s. You might want to check it out.

  • @richard1701able yea but it sucks

  • @jewman303 LMAO

  • @richard1701able your right. back in black, you shook me all night long, and hells bells were all in 1980. hell, thunderstruck was 1990. big jack was 2008 and..... oh wait... sweet child, 1987

  • last song is from San Andreas <3

  • COMFORTABLY NUMB MOTHERFUCKER

  • Funkadelic - Maggot Brain......

  • WTF HE FORGOT ABOUT VAN HALEN!!

  • JOHN FRUSCIANTE!!!! :D

  • @RoboHendrix he shoudl be number 1 yea

  • Saw Skynyard live Winterland SF winter '74-'75.They played long set lit crowd on fire.Music ended, crowd lit matches, held them up,started stomping, place felt like it was coming apart. The band returned and played 25min Freebird.I stood 10 ft from amps; I'd swear the sound was blowing' my hair back. This was easily the greatest concert I've ever seen (I've seen Hendrix,Clapton,Allman Bros,Black Sabbath,Frampton,Dire Straits,Outlaws,Trower...all terrific! But, this 1 concert was out of body amazing!!

  • @RogerHWerner Yeah, drugs usually have that effect. lol

  • Yup especially psychedelics!

  • Needs more Ritchie Blackmoore.

  • Needs more Floyd.

  • This video is very shocking because Chuck Norris isn't in the list! Chuck is also going to kick ass of people who think they can produce a list of 10 greatest guitar solo's of all time.

  • Why was i warned by youtube this video could be expierenced as shocking???

  • brian may? jimi hedrix burning desire? do something man...

  • * Hendrix, oh yeah and no David Gilmour?? c'mon man.

  • No Eddie Van Halen??? No Satriani??? Jimmy Page or Hendix should be at no. 1. Weird list.

  • molly hatchet flirtin with disaster? just a solid mentionable wouldve been enough. pretty much agree with most of the list except eruption was not on it, but nice list anyways

  • why do people ussualy skip the "slow" part in sweet child o mine´s solo????

  • This list is extremely funny.

  • I love the solo in Beat It by Michael Jackson. Think it was Van Halen, correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @LuSidDreamer it is Eddie. though also Slash played it with Michael

  • I do think there are some very good guitar solos in here, but honestly, guitar playing isn't longjumping. You cannot compare and say this is the best

  • i see people that thinks slash is better guitarist than ritchie blackmore.needs to listen to good music.. for fuck sakes you are a disgrace

  • Respect

  • How can you skip Ritchie Blackmore? With songs like Wring that Neck, Burn, Child in Time or No No No?

  • What about 'Smoke on the Water'? I prefer the studio version over the live version!

  • Dude, the best part of "All along the watchtower" was yet to come, and you cut it just before that??!!! please change your account name, it does Hendrix no good....

  • while all these solos are great this list sucks balls

  • Where is the "Eargasm" button?

  • ok this list sucks

  • why you ar foget david gilmour , hi si the best and nimber one after jimi hindrix .

  • I can play number 5. YAY i feel like a boss now.

  • Ok. that's his stupid list. Key to a great solo is to be different. Here's mine:

    1. Comfortably Numb. ) It really is, genius on anyone's list.

    2. Stairway To Heaven. ) Might be old and overplayed, but take it from a different angle.

    3. All Along The Watchtower.

    4. November Rain Outro.

    5. Free Bird.

Pink floyd unarguably the best artists on the planet. No matter if you disagree, but they have the best selling, most known and influenced album in the history of music: Dark Side Of The Moon.

  • you're an idiot...

  • WTF Peppers??????

  • @MrACDC1997 john frusciante in fact ;)

  • @MrACDC1997 whats wrong with peppers?! fuckin JOHN FRUSCIANTE ROCKS ¨!

  • no ZAPPA? you are an idiot

  • WHAT?!?!? you are missing pink floyd for one thing and as assuming these are all before 1980 then you are also missing the allman brothers band

  • But Pink Floyd sucks? This is the first I've heard of this. Why, not enough notes? Gilmour possesses one of the most recognizable guitar tones of all time.

  • yeh bro that idiot who knocked Gilmour is just plain stupid.he probably listens to the Deftones or some other equally shitty band

  • I wasn't sure about this until you had Freebird at #1!

  • I can see paying homage to these guys, but this list is lacking a great deal. There are a few artists that don't belong and the one's that do don't have their best solos showcased. By the way, Hendrix isn't God and time hasn't ended. xxpeacexx

  • ACDC?????????????? RING A BELL

  • Should have put Van Halens "Eruption" in there ..

  • lynyrd skynyrd?!?!? that solo is good but you only chose that cos of it's length O.O WHERES HENDRIX !!!!?????

  • A list without Hendrix is sacrilage....

  • Finally someone who understands music. Free bird Ronnie and da crew forever.

  • lynyrd fuckin skynyrd what abot slash, hendrix, pink floyd, van halen and coheed and cambria all should be in front of lynyrd fuckin skynyrd

  • to freelocura, listen to the minute o4:5o, you can easy found Jimi u.u

  • plzzz!! van halen?? u got to be kidding me.. thats highschool shit.. yeah yeah yeah there is the speed but no fuckin feeling.. eddie should have stuck to studio guitar and teaching lessons at a dime store music store.. there is nothing that grabs ur soul in his playing.. nothin but speed and tech.. big deal..

  • yeah dude jimi was in there and as long as hendrix, clapton and srv are in the list, its a pretty good list to me.. im not sure if steve gains deserves the top spot but he was awsum.. and i think u forgot alvin lee from ten years after.. and sorry i dont think pinkfloyd would have made my list either.... they were great until they talk about politics.. i wish performers and actors would stf up about politics.. who the fuk are they to preach to the working class..

  • А ГДЕ ФРАНК ЗАППА ???

  • ДАвай ДЖимми Пейджа и Джо САТРИАНИ !!!!

  • can u count??? 10,9,8,7,8????

  • haha, y'all are funny "WTF wheres my favorite song!!" relax people, its one video, by one guy on one site. Enjoy the music, or listen to something else.

  • What do you mean "where's hendrix"...all along the watch tower? thats hendrix bud...

  • HAAAAA,yu dont see when they broke de first string..at you..

  • Comfortably Numb is the best solo ever. Hotel California and Heartbreaker are good too. Hey Joe by Hendrix played with his teeth live at Monterey in 67 is pretty bad ass too.

  • @DyerOfTheCentury i was just thinking where the hell is comfortably numb then i saw your comment

  • Heartbreaker by Zeppelin btw, not Pat Benatar...

  • go to the helllllll you are a fucking ass hole!!!!!! where is Randy Rhoads Mr Crowly, where is eruption by Van Halen!! you dont known any of the music!!!!!

  • The Eagles !! Are you fucking kidding me ???? Cocaine ?? Clapton is good but this is not top 10 !!!!

  • weres the judas priest painkiller solo????

  • sultans of swing isn't here. and that's ridicolous

  • Never been a big Hendrix fan, although I play left handed. My favorite is Peter Frampton. Not a "shredder" but that's what I like. EVH, Joe Satrini, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Jeff Beck top my list.

  • This is a Rick Roll without Rick Astley :S

  • He was doin okay then he went all Dukes of Hazard and Dale Jr. on us with Free Bird.

  • where the fuck is comfortably numb? smh -.-

  • Hendrix????

  • Where the fuck is Pink Floyd's solo (Comfortably Numb Live Pulse by the master DAVID GILMOUR) and WHERE is GUITAR'S GOD Jimmy HENDRIX ! Bull SHIT !

  • HELL NO!

  • And November Rain??? we are November Rain??? sorri for mi english i only speake on spanish

  • I agree with maybe TWO of these.

  • WRONG!

  • Top 10? You should listen to The Whipping Post- Allman Brothers. Red House- Jimi Hendrix

  • RedHot?? Are you kidding??where is dave murray, zakk wild?and more one million of guitar player..

  • hey uploader, you should make a video, top 20 guitar solos, whats technically the best. And you should check out Kirk Hammett from Metallica if u dont know him yet. But this video is too subjective :[

  • No Eddie weak list!!!!!!

  • wheres november rain GNR

  • Of all the meaningless lists of "greatest guitar ..." this one is particularly subjective.

  • It's a crime to make a top 10 without Dire Straights, Eric Johnson, and Joe Satchriani.

  • sweet child o mine on 8th?????

  • Hocus Pocus by Focus should be in there somewhere. Being quick doesn't mean everything. Dave Gilmour, Comfortably Numb on the Pulse album is magical

  • 10 greatest guitar solos of all time, and no Zappa or Beck? Moreover, he includes a solo by John Frusciante, which repeats the same motif over and over?

  • No Pink Floyd in a top 10 best solos list makes the entire list invalid.

  • BUT please remove this fucking Santana.. and put a Floyd!

  • @bobstucki7 nuts

  • There is an hendrix xD

  • I can't believe there is no Jimi Hendrix or even Prince for that matter. There are some good selections though.

  • have to strongly DISAGREEEEEE

  • no pink floyd?WTFWTWFWTWFWTWFWTUWHTWOTH2

  • @Jferreir4 No Pink Floyd because they fucking suck!. Honestly, David Gilmour has to be the most mediocre guitarist of all time. He writes the most forgettable, substance lacking solos ever! Please listen to some real music and then start passing judgment!

  • @SplitSpades11 HAHA MORON

  • @Jferreir4

Idd Comfortably numb... 1e solo great... 2e one out of this world!! .. should be on this list =O

  • Well, top 10 to someone, anyway... By the way, the lion's share of the solo in Hotel California is played by Don Felder, not any of the Eagles shown in the pictures shown during the video - although Joe Walsh did contribute to it. And picking Cocaine over Crossroads? And as others have said, not many solos more iconic - or stylish - than David Gilmour's in Comfortably Numb.

  • this is a jole right??? Free Bird!!! Cocaine!!! give me a break

  • Comment removed

  • You are joking!

  • VAN HALEN SUCK?

  • brian may?

  • led zep rule, hendrix ruled, red hot chilli pepers rul, they all rule.

  • The final cut- coheed and cambria

  • shud just say 10 Great Guitar Solos - there's been so many, these are all great in their own rite =)

  • Comfortably Numb, Kid Charlamagne, Whole Lotta Luv, Johnny B. Goode, Because We Ended as Lovers, La Villa Stangliada (Rush), Heaven and Hell (Sabbath w/ Dio), Rainbow in the Dark, Eruption, anything by Hendrix

  • @flowerdrop1 heaven and hell definately

  • Chuck Berry? Toto? Joann Jett? Rolling Stones? ACDC? Dire Straits? ZZ Top? JJ Cale? Allman Brothers? Deep Purple? PINK FLOYD?!?!?!?!?! You got some really great solos there, but you missed out on some as well...

  • Where's Hendrix?

  • @freelocura #3

  • @freelocura are you blind???

    he is at 5:00

  • @freelocura 3th position

  • @freelocura Hendrix is even on the thumbnail

  • @freelocura nr 3

  • @freelocura #3. All Along The Watchtower for some reason? out of all the Hendrix solo's? WTF? not to say that AATW is a bad cover or tune, it's just not really much of anything as far as main solo's go...

  • @freelocura you clearly didnt watch the video ...

  • I've never heard more imaginative and amazing solos than from the genius Frank Zappa : Black Napkins, Watermelon In Easter Hay, The Ocean is the Ultimate Solution, Willie The Pimp, Inca Roads....it goes on and on. Frank Zappa makes every other guitar player look thin....And of course, there's also Jeff Beck...God in person. :-)

  • where's brian may?

  • youtube.com/watch?v=lmwJueSWTEU 2:20 Not hes best but sure Kath was virtuos and he had kahunas to jump in solos. Solos are like solo in solo..ehm :)

  • No John lee hooker? CHUCK BERRY...sheesh. But it's your opinion. I wont even mention Robert Johnson or Keith Richard or slew of others.

  • very pedestrian list. I would include dire straits.

  • my 10 greatest guitar solo starts with nr 10 freebird :) here's one above all "up there " Frank Zappa - Watermelon in Easter Hay

  • @naziopGP That's tellin' 'em , bro !

  • Ohh Free Bird! Always gives me Eargasm!

  • good list for some of the more recognizable guitar solos of all time but best...HELL NO...each guitarist on this list has amazing solos but all have better than what u listed, plus u can not leave out comfortably numb, by far one of the greatest sounding solos in the history of ROCK N ROLL

  • you must not have heard the song eruption.... stairway is an amazing song with an incredible SOUNDING solo, not THAT hard to play, free bird is the same, but its also with 2 guitarists and a third playing rythym

  • FREEBIRD NOBODY CAN BEAT FREEBIRD NOT EVEN justin beiber FREEBIRD FREEBIRD FREEBIRD GREATEST DAMN GUITAR SOLO EEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR

  • good list man! sweet child o mine should've been in the top 5 i think though lol

  • jimi should have been on there twice

  • adding comfortably numb, kicking out some would make a fine list, this is OK. but missing something.

  • I love some of these solos. Slash's solo in Sweet Child tells a brilliant story and draws you in in a way that would make even my mother listen while bobbing her head. The Black Sabbath solo is a poor choice if you ask me... it's more than just a wink to Led Zeppelin, it's a copy. If you want to expand you musical mind then check out Trey Azagthoth too... The guitar is a wonderful instrument and there are some who really know how to bring it to life!

  • Jimi Hendrix was cited in a 1969 interview shortly after Woodstock:

Interviewer: "So Jimi, what's it like to be the best guitarist in the world?"

Jimi: "I don't know, ask Rory Gallagher".

Crap list, no Paul Kossoff either!

    Nuff said ;-)

  • I wanted to argue every pick, but I have to say - wow. Nice job. Great collection.

  • O.M.G. Listen to this guy on Leanonit Road !

  • A poor list, reflecting the curator's limited exposure....

  • @ebrady65

whats your poison ? you have a broader understanding ?

  • -.-!!!

  • john bulter ocean he 4got =!

  • Stevie Ray Vaughn never used distortion Boxes, amazing and the top one of these 10 picks,How about Django Reinhardt.. the two finger maniac in black and white from the 1940's up there with Jimmy H, Vai, page, Bonamassa etec, etc, etc,

  • this list suck...

  • I think you forgot to put Rock Solos. I beg to differ about top 10 otherwise. Try this from 7:40 to 10:00 Dire straits & Eric Clapton at Mandela concert sultans of swing live.

  • i would not have picked all along the watchtower for jimi's solo. god damn that guy has so many good solos. i don't know what i'd pick.

  • where is dragon force

  • @The13darkness13 dragonforce sucks balls

  • @thedrummachine1 ikr rofl

  • 10>1, my opinion

  • Totaly dissagree with this compilation .... Wheres Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson?? Sorry, but this sucked!

  • when saw stairway to heaven in second place i wanted to shotmy balls

  • I think you did a great job in the compilation. Remember in Hotel California there were 2 leads and a rythem (sp) (wink) along with them. I love your style. Can you guess who wrote HC? I mean without looking it up? Remain Blessed

  • Where's the Fred Durst solo?
