@littleB941 .. Okey I would love to give your answers .. here is it : my Hubby used foam for him but he experienced headache ... all over the day then he switched back to original one.. Now i can suggest you to try one Foam ... if you also faced the same Problem then switch back.. as of me .. "BOTH ARE SAME ... in terms of BENEFITS" .. it depends on you :) .. Hope it helps ..

Mt Derm said for Female hair loss don't waste your money on 2% or "Women's Rogaine" Studies show that it's not strong enough. Both sexes need the 5% "Men's Strength" twice a day ALONG WITH Ketaconazole shampoo 2% three times a week (you DO need a prescription FOR THE 2% but if you can't get one, 2nd best is to buy Nizoral 1%, it's OTC and use it everyday. Print something from WebMD & I'm sure he'll give you the RX. Women & men need the 5% rogaine as a Dht bkocker. 2% is useless. Goodluck!

@TranThanhHai1 Yes, you can. But why? Do you suffer from side effects using 5%? If so, try to lower the dose. You can use Kirkland Minoxidil instead of Rogaine. If you have problems with scalp health or dandruff, you can add 2 ml of d-panthenol (I'm using 75%) to your bottle. Use a mild shampoo.

It may also be a good idea to use once a day Rogaine foam 5% instead of twice a day Rogaine 2%. Rogaine foam is cosmetically superior and nicer to the scalp.

No difference in effectiveness, search for: "A randomized, single-blind trial of 5% minoxidil foam once daily versus 2% minoxidil solution twice daily in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia in women."

But you may not want to use it twice a day, because it can increase facial hair.

You can also add a Ketoconazole 2% Shampoo twice a week (like Nizoral) or a 1% Ketoconazole Shampoo every day (like Nizoral A-D, Regenepure DR, Revita). You'll need a conditioner after using them because they're drying. They also help if you get an itchy scalp or dandruff from minoxidil.

Another (weaker) option would be a topical containing Alfatradiol like Pantostin or Ell Cranell. They're weak DHT-inhibitors without systemic side effets and approved in Germany to combat female hair loss.

I have PCOS too and im battling my hair thinning as well...i was hesitant to try Rogaine but Im thinking i will try it now...im also using biotin and saw palmetto supplements because ive read that they help work against the male hormone problems that cause hair loss issues in women with PCOS

Hey, I bought biotin from walgreen..actually as per my research i found out that normal person should take only 1000-2500mcg a day bt if you are suffering fm hair loss due to any health issues you can take upto 5000mg...so thats what i take ...i take 2500mg twice a day...regarding extra growth in other areas i already have that due to my pcos and thyroid issues which is due to irregular periods so i am on medication of birth control pills and metformin for it..anything else u want 2 knw mail me

@bmushtaq2010 As i mentioned it will help to grow new hair .. it will not controlled hair loss, but You can apply the product Female baldness pattern .. it means Front area of your Scalp..It will not work at the Back areas... So you can decide on that.

Rogaine (minoxidil) is a life long treatment, once you start you have to continue it for life. b12 injections work for me as well as a good hair supplement. i have pcos and thyroid.

Even i am suffering for thyroid and pcos..just wanted to share with you that some two month back my hair started shedded very badly..i tot it will stop after some time bt suddenly thinning of my frontal area started being visible ...so visible that people started asking questions,,thats when i did research on net and found out about biotin tablets..i am currently taking biotion 2500mcg twice daily and trust me my hair fall has totally stopped..
