  • it's 60's

  • right at the very end, the male voices sing very fragile, sad, compared to other performances, and that's why i like this lacrimosa more tha others...

  • laughing tears...

  • 30 first seconds are magic

  • magnifico!

  • am i the only one who noticed the bass singer never looks at his score? he knows it completly, and such a powerful voice it is too!

  • When and where was this performace? Who is the beautiful young woman at 6:03?

  • @bdominico well, she won't be young anymore ;) this was performed in the '70 or '80 i think..

  • @bdominico You have a great taste in women, my friend. She is indeed very beautiful.

  • Ahhhhhh....a window to heaven...how beautiful!!!!!

  • Haha that bounce at 4:49 kills me! haha

  • @idodoremi lol!

  • what an universal thing this is. From Turkey with love...

  • sublime. y la puta madre!!!

  • From 0:00>4:50 is Part III (Lacrimosa). From 4:50>9:03 is Part IV (Domine Jesu)

Thank you for posting. It's one of the great works of art in history.

  • Mozart couldn't complete this music. He died at 1:08.

  • He was a genius. I get a lump in my throat every time I hear this! Magnificent!!!

  • @jgarleo woah there pal! a lump?

  • @doomgrave1 : It's an expression meaning that it's very moving. Isn't that what you thought that I meant?

  • subtle, sublime, superb!!!

  • best version on youtube. so lifeful and charismatic

  • geegee1848 Wrong: suggestion of a divine gift does not hinder nor detract from the geniality of a man, as one could have forsaken a God given gift and done no good with it. Your attempt to aggrandize man for itself thus fails.

x21x21x21: Next time someone wants your opinion on Mozart, someone will ask your opinion on Mozart. Next time, learn some history as was wisely suggested, before sprouting nonsense out of your mouth. kthxbye

  • If he was weak, or he was strong, he is dead. He has his own destiny. We need to be concerned about our own level of strength.

  • rest in peace amadeus!

  • FAVORITE piece of mozart's requiem! after looking through the videos, I literally went, *GASP!!*

  • @x21x21x21 you are ignorant....acquaint yourself with history before "collecting the set"

  • @x21x21x21 Too bad he didn't write the lyrics

  • I love the begin of changing vocals at 6.28. Alt, soprano, tenor and bass & plying together

  • amazing how god gave mozart such a gift

  • @5714Payton let's leave religion out of this, ok? any suggestion of divine assistance is a disgraceful slandering of what this genius of a human being accomplished with this brilliant work.

  • @geegee1848 You're an idiot. EVERYTHING comes from God! Just because you chose not to believe doesn't make it so. He (Mozart) obviously believed in both God and his son Jesus Christ, as did many of his day, so why would you think that he was a great "genius of a human being" if you think it's ridiculous to do so?

  • @bdominico With all respect, it was Mozart's genius mind that created this magnificent piece of music, not god.

  • i would make this into my theme song for my movie, if i ever made one!! i luv this song!! mozart is the best there is...

  • I can appreciate his brilliant mind for this work. Does the beginning of this about 0:30 or so in sound a little off, the pauses seem to long?

  • Great piece, but that stupid Direct TV commercial is WAY too overplayed!

  • mozart has the best music to me!!! i love his music. its a classical piece of art. i would use this song in my movie if i ever made one, for the when it first come on.

  • What a tempo! Slow. Inexorable. Inescapable . . .

    AAAAAAAAAAA . . . MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN

  • This is not human.

  • Masterpiece!

  • I don't think I've ever been so close to tears while listening to a piece of music.

  • The tempo is a bit slow for my taste. As a singer it can be grueling to sing it that slow. Still an enjoyable performance. :)

  • Divine!!!!

PS: do you know that the director is the father of Karl Heinz Böhm, the actor who played the role of Franz Joseph in the film Sissi (with Romy Schneider)

  • Самая трогательная часть реквиума - божественно!! Жаль всех умирающих сразу - как же хочется жить!! ВСЕМ!!

Наверное, бог действительно нас любит?! и жалеет!

  • Una obra maestra!!!!

  • angels dictated the chorus while mozart was agonizing

  • I am so torn between the Death Mass/Requiem and Beethoven's symphony no.9. as to which I like/love the most.I hear the 9th it brings tears to my eyes because of parts that are so beautiful. Then I listen to this and it sends chills down my spine because it is so powerful.

  • Surely this must be the most sublime piece of music ever written.

    And what a stunning performance.!!!

  • @trescoekid I drove around in my car yesterday thinking the exact same thought, playing (roughly) 5:46>end

over and over and over at full volume.

  • bello! peccato i sottotitoli in inglese.

  • absolutely heavenly. And greatly performed, thank you, heildirgunther!
