Was my first album I purchased with my own money - Freedom Of Choice. Still in occassional rotation in my car! My three kids are not too sure about it but I say, "BE QUIET! This reminds daddy of his youth...before you hellions sucked out my life force!!!" Kidding about the kid thing...
Back in the late 70s it was indeed a very brave thing to admit to being into Devo,i even went to see them at Knebworth and saw them canned of by a load of long haired biker types who wanted to see motorhead!Looking like i did in those days it was lucky i didnt get a kicking as well! Miles ahead of most people,Huge respect is due for producing great music and allowing no compramise !
It's so strange to see these guys now. It's like I froze them in time from 1980. Now they look like older men. I took alot of crap in High school because I kiked this band.
I even developed a nickname of DEVO Joe. Now who's laughing. I was just ahead of my time I guess.
To Freewill911......* I was DevoDave....Laughed at as a freshman in college when I saw them on SNL, (and everyone else was listening to Boston)....hooked at that point.....I have everything they ever released...I'm 50 now....and I still play DEVO regularly.
When I saw Devo at SXSW in Austin, I was finally able to yell "DEVO!" at a band that was not not-Devo. (some friends of mine and I like to yell "DEVO!" at just about any live band)
Saw a headline in a free paper down in Orange County a few years ago about one of their shows. The headline was "Are we not old?". Funny, but it was an article written by a fan. And the show was kick ass, apparently. Yeah, I'm old too...

you got to admit that they Shriveled Up at the end. "Smooth Noodle Maps"? W-T-F?

Yea, but in my opinion Total Devo (the album before Smooth Noodle Maps) was brilliant.

I've heard some of their new stuff, and they're still DEVO!
Gotta admire that they still have their touch after so many years, these guys are unstoppable!

LOL Not the Killers, the Kills XD
I'm a fan of both the killers and Devo, so that comment made me laugh X3

He said he liked the Kills not the Killers. 2 different bands.

....yeah, I'm well aware of that :P
I was saying that I like the Killers and that it was funny that they said that they liked the kills, not the killers
