it's a music school in my hometown in Poland - Szczecinek ;) every summer they organise some kind of a workshop for those whos play wind instruments. and it's probably the performance students give at the end of the 2-week course.

For a clarinet arrangement, it seems odd to remove the main bit that the clarinet does in the full version.

If none of them could do it, it would make sense to omit it but given the uality of their palying, I'm sure that one of them could manage to do it!

Well in the orchestra version its a sharp brass sound at that part. So I think they were trying to emulate that tounge release, sharp brass sound.

THose are a bunch of kids - the introductory glissando stretches over more than two octaves - it's really damn hard to do it... I've not seen a clarinettist of this age to do a glissando - so it may be tha arrangement - made a little bit easier for young students of music, or it might be that they simply skipped the intro which I think is nothing to be ashamed of. On the other hand you're right = without it it's just not the same... Either way, they did a great job...

holy hell! i am a clarinet player and not a stranger to this most famous of all clarinet pieces, i also head a clarinet choir and i couldn't foresee this in my wildest dreams. these kids are real good. i think that for this piece the articulation was a little too strong. beautiful tone. it seems that they are classically trained because i don't think they captured the nuances of the piece. though im not sure if kids this young can make a piece of music sound "sexy" lol
