  • That sounds awesome! What a great sport for women!

  • Where the fuck is your helmet?

  • Roller derby is an incredible sport! I just started with junior derby and it's incredible how good it feels to spend a few hours at practice or a bout and just forget about everything else in your life, to knock someone down and be knocked down only to find you can get right back up again.

  • holy fuck.. I just got a booty call girl that does this.. so I was like.. well wtf is roller derby. Found out, its this gay mario cart shit without items.

  • i want to be derby girl so much!

  • all fun and games...until you break a bone(s).

  • @systemaddictshock and then it's hilarious.

  • my spanish teacher does roller derby and we're going to watch her next week :D

  • @millerliteisgud Make signs for her! She'll love that!

  • I'm trying out for roller derby in a month!! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!

  • "I don`t care bear" xD super cool nick ... lovit :D

  • Im sorry but why isnt the lady covering the story wearing a helmet???????

  • at least women had something to do for fun lol

  • I would love to be a derby girl when I'm older :)

  • @BethieBlood Why wait? There are junior leagues all over the country. I started at 18 and wish I had decided to do it earlier!

  • @ColorOfCatVomit Well not where I live sadly. I live in Ozark, AR

  • @ColorOfCatVomit Yep!!! some teams dont have them, there are actually very few jr. leagues! Im actually starting one at my school! the headmaster said I could!

  • @BethieBlood If your in Illinois, there's a Jr. League for the Southland Slashers. We skate out of Coal City, and there's one in Chicago too.

  • @pandachick90 Sadly I'm in Arkansas

  • like female fight club.. love it

  • thumbs up if you cam from "Kyle's" Video!!

  • For some reason I'm not surprised at all that most of these are white chicks.

  • Love roller derby, but I took offence to them saying that the 8 track was dead.

  • I bet wheels aren't all their strapping on.

  • playing aginst them would be like taking candy from babies. only insteed of babies its pissed of lesbians.

  • roller derby is def the most fun ive ever had with a sport.i love it!!

  • Im the stongest hitter on my team ;)

  • but girls suck

  • As a roller derby referee who has to keep up with the practice schedule and sees what actually happens in a bout if you think that this is not physically demanding I challenge you to try it. There are men's teams out there too, fear not, you wont have to challenge your pride by getting beat up by a girl.

  • @Jeff4congress hahaha like a LONG time ago my great uncle was in the Bay Bombers

  • @HALOGLITCHES43 Not fucking physically demanding? Why don't you watch an actual game, and stop being a douche. Thankyouverymucho:)

  • @squeakyla play hockey or football or lacrosse then talk to me :P

  • @HALOGLITCHES43

I don't play sports because I'm a lazy bum (hey, I'm admitting it.) I plan to change that when I have the stress of 12th grade off my shoulders. So I can't make judgements about what is more demanding than another. However, if those sports are harder, that doesn't mean roller derby isn't hard. If you play roller derby and all those other sports, only then can you make a clear judgement about it. And yes there are men's roller derby leagues.

  • @squeakyla lol im not playing roller derby XD but i get your point...

  • @squeakyla its good that you "plan to change" but "12th grade" is a walk in the park compared to college... just wait until u realize u have no time left in your day. that shouldnt stop you though. in reality, pretty much the best way to relieve stress is physical activity, so give that a try

  • @squeakyla p.s. I've seen vids of the men's leagues and they're terrible.

They say there's sports only men are cut out for, well, there's the opposite too. :)

  • @HALOGLITCHES43 They always tend to be homely looking.

  • I am so glad Roller Derby is getting more popular. im in a junior league and im totally in love with it and i can't wait to progress up into the older league ♥

  • @scbilder Yes! There are men's leagues around the country, too. Not very many, but there are some.

  • WOO HOO!! GO ROLLER DEBRY GIRLS!! I LOVE YOU DERBY SISTERS!! :D

  • I've been skating for 13 years... and I don't use padding... so it tends to hurt a little more. :P

I think it'd be so hard to skate with all that padding.

but i've always wanted to do roller derby. :)

  • I am over 40 and I joined A'Salt Creek Roller Girls in Casper, Wyoming this past summer. It has changed my life for the better. What's great is that it is like a sisterhood - we are there for each other when the bout and life gets tough. We fight occasionally... and there is lots of personal drama! As for the haters, you're just jealous cuz' you skate like a boy!

Derby love to all my derby sistas and brothas!

  • I joined GSR in November 2010, its so much fun and all the girls great. They are all smart, beautiful and talented, truly amazing women. What I love most is their passion for it and when you feel the worst, one of them is always screaming something positive at you, which keeps me so motivated. The injuries suck but are so worth it. <3

And to all the haters, keep on hating , your words are just dust in the wind xoxo ;p

  • @puppetmasterblaster Does that make you sexist or racist?

  • @puppetmasterblaster Piss off! You just can't handle us American Derby grrrls!!!

  • @puppetmasterblaster woa woa woa!! hold the phone! ur just jealous cus you arent tough or badass! you probably just sit on ur ass eating potato chips and watchin the titanic and cryin all day. so u can shut it! before us roller girls come and show you whos boss now!

  • Been skating for years just joined today!

  • I'm boosting my skating skills, so that once i turn 21 i can join a team or start one.

  • @mariahthemennis9 Depending on the sanctioning body, you can skate at 18. I know TXRD, which is a banked track body is 21, but USARS and WFTDA are both 18.

  • GOD I 'd love to do try it out!!! I can't skate on rollerskates!!! DANG IT!

  • I'm a proud derby girl!! >:)

  • @scbilder - there are plenty of men's and co-ed derby leagues around. I skate on a co-ed league in Northern Virginia, ADA - Antihero Derby Alliance (google it, youtube won't let me add a link), come check us out!

  • I joined roller derby a few months back, and is by far the best decision I have ever made.

  • @Brandemic I want to so bad.No money:(

  • @scbilder Probably.............

  • Holy fuck, I so want to play this. -__-

It sucks living in Australia, because there's no junior leagues near that I can play for, so I've got four more years to train up before I can play. D:

  • @vanillagoat I had to wait for YEARSSS before there was a league close enough for me to join. It's worth the wait! And, try contacting the closest league to you, and ask them about setting up a junior league. :)

  • I want to be a roller derby girl

  • @Bronwin1231231231232 as do I ...

  • do yu not think its a bit dangerous that theres no barriers when they're playing at 0.33??

  • @hiphopgurlere that's the 'suicide seating' area. You're warned when you sit there the risk of getting hit. Fans tend to love being smashed by a roller girl C:

  • @hiphopgurlere Flat track roller derby doesn't have barriers...

  • I don't care bear. Niceee~

  • is stuff like tackling allowed?

  • @XDwoaXD No, tackling is not allowed, but it is full-contact. We give hits with our hips/shoulders/or both, and push girls out with the whole sides of our bodies. And because you're not allowed to touch another player's back, we can use "booty blocking" to our advantage. If you think football's hard, check out roller derby!

  • i wanna do this :)) it looks like fun! i just dont know how to skate :( but i can skateboard :D is it almost the same?

  • @evilcreature3 its not the same but when I started out I couldn't skate for my life, if you hook up with the right kind of girls they'll teach you how to skate and soon you'll become a pro.

  • so basically you skate around and knock people down? sounds fun. i might try it when i get older.

  • Im think about joining a rollar derby team. Anyone have any tips? please email me with any tips you have. Thanks

  • this is awesome ever since i was little i wanted to be a roller durby girl! i know understand why people do it! i could never find a team! thought it was non existant till now! anyone know of a local 909 team

  • @moochie987 There are leagues everywhere -- just check out wftda(dot)com/leagues for one near you. Trust a derby girl -- this is a life-changing sport that you can't help but love. -fifi fleshwound, suburbia roller derby, westchester, ny

  • @moochie987 If you check the WTFDA website, it will give you a list of leagues, but they are member leagues. There are many leagues all over the country popping up that are not yet member leagues. They accept new leagues into the WFTDA every year, so you might also try going to twoevils(dot)org/rollergirls and see if there is a league near you. :) There are many leagues in California, so you can probably find one.

  • Woo!

I just started skating with the Rose City Rollers and this sport is a blast!

  • only quad skates. no rollerblades allowed.

  • can they use rollerblades or just skates?

  • Anyone knows which move the clip at 0:25 comes from??

  • @oliviaswe I think that was " Kansas city Bomber" I remember Raquel Welch did play as the star of a movie portraying Womens Roller Derby.

The REAL thing back in the day was rough! And it was exciting to watch it!

  • @dieannadior618 Tell your mom that tiny girls can make good jammers. You'll be quick and it'll be easy for you to slip through holes in the pack.

  • man...it's like speed skating with body checking like hockey! that's....awesome!!!

  • my grandma would use to watch this when they had it out, and some girls got into a fight where they would beat the crapout of them off the track and beat them with trash cans
