  • morrisseys singles... i'm always gobsmacked when i flip him over and listen to his backside...

    love ya moz

  • Comment removed

  • He's still got it then.

  • Great song. Picture is perfect for it.

  • Squishy face!

  • this is the equal in every respect to those Smiths songs of old

  • I'm in love.

  • Yes, I agree to maddistar: far better than "... around paris". I'm wondering, that this happens so many times. See the album "swords"- all songs are b-sides, and most of them are quite incredible good. Best Moz-album since "you are the quarry". In my opinion.

  • OMG how old is M now? God love him.

  • @badamj2000 fifty-one

  • It's possibly a b-side coz Green Day used the same riff in boulevard of broken dreams! bigger hit!

  • If theres no other music to listne to atleast we have morrisey.

  • this song is so amazing...i always wondered why it's only a b- side..

but still, shame is the name ;)

  • amazing song

  • this is no B Side

  • Boring!, OOHH flashy lights and a shit postcard, how I dearly wish I was not here!!!

The media is music not video, unless your're trying to impress and eight year old child?

Morrissey sings about things that move him, he's not a NME video production.

Go to skegness if you want to see a shit seaside town or better still mablethorpe.

    Only joking they're both shit!

    Listen to the music douche!!!

  • Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh....... u the man.

  • ... ? boring ¬¬

my favorite song it is Everyday is like a sunday

i want! to the original video !! *-*

  • the picture id freaking awesome.

  • Morrissesy transcends just British music. He is a world wide phenomenon and has been for generations! He touches on personal, political and taboo subjects that other people avoid like the plague. Is it that you don't like him or are you afraid to see yourself in the mirror he forces you to look into? He is pure, unadulterated talent along the lines of the Beatles, Sting, Jim Morrison and any other great Artists in rock history you wish to compare him to.

  • m0dsar3us - you muppet, but nice shit stir! I might jump on a Michael Jackson link and say that the KKK send their love...you see how silly your post is now right?

  • @DocWhat10

Me saying Morrissey and The Smiths are terrible can't be compared to that...sorry.

  • i think when it comes to morrissey, you have to be "in the know" you cant just like morrissey you have to get it.

  • @m0dsar3us why do you watch his videos then?

  • Because shit talking Morrissey makes me feel better about myself.

    Piss off, fuckstick.

  • @m0dsar3us Morrissey is also self depreciating in his work which is very humbling for a man who is so widely and highly regarded by so many adoring fans.

Morrisseys work in anything but shit - Rather it is simply not to your taste.

  • @m0dsar3us @m0dsar3us Evidently Morrissey is not for you but thats ok. Those of us who can appreciate a musical genius will continue to do so.

Morrissey is the most literary singer in British music today. He is clearly well read from his work and has poetical undertones in his music that is beautiful. He is political, passionate, whimsical and light hearted at times in his work, and there is something very British about him that perhaps others do not get.

  • @lottyabel

I think you might be thinking of Paul Weller actually...now THAT'S what I call music (volume 1)!

  • @m0dsar3us

quite clearly no one else here cares what you call music, just because you prefer a mindless catchy tune to something with meaning doesn't mean we have to

  • @m0dsar3us if weller really said that than i'm gonna bin all his cd's i own

  • Shame makes the world go numb.

  • oh, his everlasting talent and creativity... his songs stil give me the goose bumps...

  • I love that feeling you get sometimes listening to Morrissey when you realise his lyrics are an oddly accurate and poetic summation of something in your life... I get that here and I love it. That's why he means so much to so many.

May your light never go out

  • sooooo! true

  • love this song and the whole swords album

  • I will always love him. He´s a fantastic singer.

  • @mercetubbie Agreed, Hi 5!

  • Fantastic song, shame is the name of idiots posting here that just don't get it..

  • Top song...awesome drinking music...shout it "shame is the name"...eh you muppets who post shit comments...SHAME!! this is not your forum for self pity so fuck off...

  • Thumbs up! Hi-5!

  • Chrissie Hynde & Morrissey, I love them both

  • i love the sound of that boys voice at the start MAURICET!

  • long live morrissey-another wonderful song...thanks

  • Been a fan of Smiths/Moz for decades, but this is strikingly good.

  • Farzin LOVES this song and more importantly this MAN;-)

  • esta canción me gusta muchísimo. Moz rules.

  • Of course he didn't write Oscillate Wildly! It's instrumental, duh?

  • he still could of wrote it, vocals are an instrument, it has tones and keys m8

  • this is amazing, why is it just a b-side? :| far better than '...paris'.

  • tis been a habit of Morrissey for decades sadly. I've always thought his career suffered because of really horrible singles... more importantly the 1st singles. Thought he was done with that pattern after "Irish Blood, English Heart." I was wrong apparently.

  • @maddistar His best songs tend to be album tracks of b sides for me. Break Up the family, the incredible Lost, Why dont you find out for yourself, im not sorry, life is a pigsty. I rest my case.

  • your such a liar you wouldnt by 2 sets of tickets if you didnt like everything he did you mong ...

    get a fucking life!

your just trying to wind people up

  • this is a damn good song.... and sadly its painfully accurate fml.. lol. I love MOZ

  • "This is bloody good, let's use it as a b-side" mused the Moz..

  • These recent songs (and also the performance last February in Jonathan Ross's show) give some indication that Morrissey seems to have had lessons on how to use his voice more effectively. He has a good voice, no doubt, but he often did not use it to its full potential, especially in the late Smiths days. If he plans to retire soon, it is very well that he wishes do it at the height of his abilities, at least in terms of voice (if not, sadly, in terms of public image, because age took its toll).

  • And who could his teacher possibly be? Alfredo Kraus, Tereza Berganza, Kiri Te Kenawa?

I was going to swear Morrissey started to use his voice in its full potential soon after Hand in Glove and until now...

And absolutely nothing wrong with his image - public or not - i'm afraid; but that - i agree - is just a matter of opinion...

  • Je ne suis pas avec çà. L'age est le reflet de ce que nous sommes et de ce qu'on à été. Un esprit n'a pas d'âge ! Et si on s'arrête à une image c'est qu'il faut relire son St Exuperi.

    RDS

  • I don't agree. Not that I despise people that acquire a decadent or pitiful image because of age (it affects all of us, and it is not one's fault). But it is absolutely true that Morrissey's physical appearance was, until about "November spawned a monster" an essential part of his allure. His "substance", without the compositions of Marr and having lost that image, is considerably less than what I would like it to be...

  • i like it and i think his vocals sound amazing here

  • Morrissey looks a bit like Rab C Nesbitt in this pic....I'm just saying!

  • this is quite good, i was skeptical when i first heard the new album but ive grown attatched to it. times of woe do that to me

  • 2:39 = ♥

  • gets better with every listen

  • i read a reseña where says that this new album was her worst work...but fuck them!!

  • "Salaud, Morrissey! Dégueulasse! Y va t'arriver du monde, Morrissey!!"

  • Les 400 Coups, bien joue...

  • c'est pour cela que personne aime pas les francais avec ces opinions , les degueulasse c'est toi, salopard, sadmarquise, mozz c'est genial

  • haha chill and watch Truffaut's Les 400 coups, you'll understand the reference,

    Moz c'est genial, en effet

  • tecnoalex52, I love Morrissey, I just wanted to write the first words of the song ( the ones that are said in french ( for the people who don't speak French...).

I love this song. Morrissey makes great B sides!

  • hey sorry i thought you were insulting Moz, you know he's great, bye

  • Euh, tu es français...(?)

  • what does that mean in english

    ?

    viva Moz xxxx

  • Viva - long live

viva moz - long live morrissey (:

  • i know what viva means i meant the french bit unless that is what it means :)

  • Yeah i think that's it! Couldn't bet my life on it though. Couldn't see it being anythign else xD

  • Do you mean Moz?

    It's just short for Morrissey.

  • what a plonker

  • It means "Bastard Morrisset, disgusting, your days are numbered Morrisset... something fatal will happen to you Morrisset!

The 't' at the end of 'Morrisset' is silent and therefore the name sounds like 'Morrissey' to the English ear. The sample was lifted from the 1959 film "Les 400 coups" ("The 400 Blows")

    A perfect one!!!

  • really nice

  • hahaha i love the picture, so cute

  • Listen to "The Never Played Symphonies",... I think it's one of his best!

  • I love every single song he makes!!

  • Great song!

  • anyone else think chrissie hynde and moz sound good together?

i like the song, really good tune.

can't wait to see him in may

and that intro sounds like boulevard of broken dreams, or is it just me?

  • I like the album but this should have been the A side I think, then again a lot of B sides are superior to the single

  • i LOVE this song. It reminds me someone I know...

  • bet it is how soon is now :)

  • thank you :)

I'll buy me years of refusal next week. But i listened already to the songs. I love it too.

  • a b-side just means the other side of a record. like side a and side b :) EVERYBODY BUY YEARS OF REFUSAL!!!! its one of my favorite moz albums, next to vaux, quarry, and viva.

  • Sorry, but can someone tell me what "B-Side" means? ^^'

But I know that I love this song ! =)

  • When singles were released as 7" records, the single would be pressed onto one side of the record (the A-side), and the flip side (the B-side) would contain other songs. Now 'B-side' just refers to additional songs included on the single CD.

  • superior to all the songs from the last album....

  • I can´t understand why this is a B side!

  • Nice. :) I hadn't heard the whole song before. I like it.

    Fran

  • The beginning is from The 400 Blows, French movie. I love it to death, it's excellent <3 and so is this song.

  • I loved him for years then I left him for a while but the make up sex is amazing!!

  • As with all morrissey tracks it creeps up on you and grabs you from behind. Then you are its forever.

  • jessenovels wow! thanks for the translation

love the way he moans "What's your name? What's your na-aa-aame?" it's lovely.

is it a reference to Shameless the tv programme?

  • the sample at the beginning of the song is in French: "Salaud Morrisset, dégueulasse, tes jours sont comptés Morrisset... Il va t'arriver du mouron Morrisset!", which roughly translates to "Bastard Morrisset, disgusting, your days are numbered Morrisset... something fatal will happen to you Morrisset!". The 't' at the end of 'Morrisset' is silent and therefore the name sounds like 'Morrissey' to the English ear. The sample was lifted from the 1959 film "Les 400 coups" ("The 400 Blows").

  • i see you know some french and it s culture good point brit...

  • This proves how brilliant Steven Morrissey is. The man keeps redefining, and stands out from the sea of bad music that flood the air waves. He writes not to sell cds, he writes what comes from the soul. He speaks the words, and hardship some go through. Steven Morrissey will continue to be one of the greatest singers/composers of all time.

  • Wunderbar! I love it

  • long live king morrissey you beautiful legend!!

  • should have been on the album great song

  • this should have been on the album

  • Comment removed

  • the lyrics are awesome and pretty deep. Agreed, the chorus could be a liitle bit more different. The rest is amazing.

  • people that are complaining about the lyrics ... do you actually listen to them?

    Mozzer forever.

    This should be a single

  • I love how Mozzy can release an amazing album and then top himself with a great collection of B sides.

  • A wicked choon which begs the question why was this not compiled on the new album at least and this is so worthy of being a chart hit. Keep up the good work Mozza.

  • salaud, dégueulasse... not exactly the words I'd choose :) Love it!

  • Great song! Does anyone know how I can I buy it? It doesn't appear to be available on Itunes or Amazon. Same with the other B song Because of my Poor Education.

  • encore encore!!! merci morrissey! vivement ton concert a lille le 3 juin 2009 a l'aeronef!! le nord pas de calais t'attend!!!

  • this is gorgeous!

morrissey's b-sides from the last decade have been phenomenal. can't get enough of it.

  • Damn Morrissey sounds so damn good these days, same as ever.

  • This is a fucking great song and melody, could have been a single, MORRISSEY is the best thing england has ever had and i love the man and his music, so hatethefrench go and get rimmed you daft twat, your user name is pathetic, oh and learn to spell, and if you cant say anything good then dont bother, you obviously have no talent or balls and you probably live with your mam and dad, arsehole

  • and Gary Numan!!

  • well i have to say that it is really cool to see there are people with alot of time on their hands to do videos of some crazy funny stuff.

  • first new song i don't like

  • You're not a real fan then.

  • i got "viva hate" tattoo!

  • Why dont u like it man? It´s GREAT!

  • love the moz til i die and i love a lot of the new stuff but this track aint pulling up any trees,b side for this is the best bet.

  • if i offend ny individual on here dont give is the thumbs down cos i like the rest off morrisseys songs just not this 1 it is the worsthe has wrote, evin worse than ossilate willdly

  • he didnt write oscilate wildely

  • Johnny Marr on harmonica? It would be just like them to do something like that and tell no-one...LOL. Chrissie great friends with both remember. Mmmm, well I wonder :-P

  • i like it but the third verse hints at what it could have been , rather than retreading the "council estate chav culture" a la Shameless he could have made it a bit more political. the end part is quite nice when it all breaks down to just minimum music and vocals . a decent enough b-side

  • i like it !!! nice !!!

  • This song is great. It has melody and none of the Quarry's albums noise-rock bass lines, enormous drums, and big swaths of guitar distortion.

  • Love this track. Morrissey and Chrissie's vocals sound great together.

  • Great track!
