I had my smiley for the longest time, finally I took itout over boredom.

What she saying is very true, I had self pierced mine, and had to do it twice, getting the ball on by yourself, is very hard.

And yeah, it didn't hurt. :)

Healing was pretty easy, since it's a oral piercing, I didn't keep mine in checked, and it healed in about a week.

Its best to use plastic jewelry, if possible, because it can scratch the enamel off your teeth.

But they don't hurt, and the healing time is about a few days.

Okay someone PLEASE HELP BY ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS FOR ME: (Someone who knows what they're talking about)

1) I have no materials whatsoever for piercing so WOULD I be able to use a sewing needle or a safety pin? And which would you recommend to be the best?

2) Would you recommend piercing it fast or slowly

3) Exactly what type and size of jewelry do I need? (I don't know anything about the sizes of jewelry)

4) Some after-care advice and whatnot. Anything that would be helpful

@sactothebay Okay Sact, To do a Piercing I suggest that you go get a needle (piercing needle), You can find them online worst come to worst get a sewing needle NOT A SAFETY PIN!!!! I tried doing my eyebrow with a safety pin and it got stuck. 2nd Do it at your own pace dont go fast or slow, cause your body can become overwhelmed when you do it, the best size would be a 16 gauge or a 14, 16 gauge is the standard size for jewelry. 3rd for aftercare do sea salt with water

And I am not super big on piercings, so I probably wont invest in an actual piercing needle, but I do want my smiley done! So I'll probably try it with a sewing needle.

Should I just use rubbing alcohol to sterilize the needle? And Should I stick the needle in some Vaseline to help it go through the skin?

@sactothebay okay, Dont use rubbing alcohol. if you want it to go through use a lubricant. YES lubricant. Water based help trumendously. Ive pierced my lip (bottom and upper) my septum and eyebrow. the safety pin is quite thick and when I used the safety pin I was quite overwhelmed with it. sewing needle is thin and also polished so its easy to use while sewing. Piercing needles are easy to use because its hollow through it. just be safe and make sure to look into this more.
