  • Is that Tatyana M. Ali doing the buzzing? If it's not, it's her twin... :)

  • the child turned in to a dog when he grew up;)

  • Wow, what an unusual set of pets!

  • this must be a very old clip because Mr. Hooper is on this one.

  • @Nightmastercool97 That's Grandpa Wally...

  • for some reason i HATED this as a kid....i think it creeped me out for some reason.

  • Great stuff! Now I'm going to have this song in my head all night.

  • I loved this song when my children we preschool age.

Tatiana Ali was a pretty little girl in this clip.

  • This song would work well on "The Muppet Show" too, with Floyd singing Gordon's part.

  • wow brings back memories from my childhood..

  • who's the old man on the steps? A Mr. Hooper knock-off?

  • It's Bob's Uncle VVally. He vvas on the shovv for a vvhile, before Mr. Hanford came.

  • @colleen4ever

Right :) Uncle Wally was the owner of Wolfgang the seal.

  • @sweetlife031 Really? I did not know that!

  • What the hell kind of bark is that!?

  • a chihuahua

  • What Happens when Savion came in on Sesame Street?

  • That's not Mr. Hooper. That's Uncle Wally.

  • In the Turkish version, the Afro-American guy is a Turkish carpenter called Tahsin Amca.

  • After I posted that it was Stevie Wohnder I began to realize it cdould have been Herbie Hancock. Sorry about the confusion. At least I knew that it was either Stevie or Herbie Hancock thuogh.

  • Bill McCutcheon died in 1990. He was born May 7,1925.

  • You are wrong. Northern Calloway, who played David is the one who died in 1990. Bill McCutcheon left the show in 1992, and died in 2002.

  • Northern Calloway was a great character on Sesame Street. It's sad that he passed away. I remember in the year 1989, Northern Calloway said that he was going to take some time off from being on Sesame Street (he was hoping and planning that he will be able to come back to be on the show) hoping that his health would get better. Unfortunately, his health was getting worse where he passed away from stomach cancer.

  • *giggles*

  • That is Tatyana Ali. Before she was on Will Smith's show she was on Sesame Street. She did a segment with Stevie Wonder where he put her voice in his synthesizer and made it sound like a robot.

  • Actually, the synthesizer bit was with Herbie Hancock, not Stevie Wonder.

  • I like tha barking and meowing.

  • Standing in the dark? Hher is an idea, TURN ON THE LIGHT! Had you done so, maybe that would not happen.

  • I certainly remember this one. In regards to your comment, lion371, he had turned on the light...and if so, how could he be standing in the dark? And if he had turned on the light in the kitchen, how could he trip and knock down a big ol' pot on the floor? I guess he must be really clumsy...

  • I was so glad to see this again. It's one moment of the show I always have had in my memory and also considering I haven't seen it in years.

  • The bee buzzing girl looks like Tatiana Ali.

  • @rokhoppr4

It is her. As a matter of fact, in the synopsis of this clip, she is the only kid mentioned by name lol

  • One time on Sesame Street I once saw Maria telling the same story with a book. It was the same as the song except they added a duck in it and there was no mouse in it. But otherwise it was like this song.

  • I remember Alan (the Hooper's Store owner) singing this same song with kids and monsters where they all were wearing costumes for whichever animal they were playing.

I remember that Elmo Monster was the dog, Gabi (Maria and Luis's daughter) was the horse, Telly Monster was the lion but, I can't remember which kid/monster played the cat and the bee.

  • Is that Conrad Bain doing the horse?

  • I don't know.

  • It's Bill McCutcheon. The character is Bob's Uncle Wally.

  • @Nickrj1 : LMBO! No that is to Conrad Bain! LOL! That's Uncle Wally (Bob's Uncle). I forget the name of the actor.

  • I know this old song well. But when I saw the remake I was ashamed they forgot to put the bee in Ernie,s version.
